Dr. Ramsey, I am impressed with your video. I am 66 and my VA dentist tried a left rear upper implant and unfortunately we had a sinus tear as he was hammering away. He pack me up and now on antibiotics, My big question no one seems to answer can I use my CPAP machine -it is the nose type is it too much pressure for the sinus membrane to heal??Thank you in advance aL

"amigo" for some reason, RU-vid is not allowing me to respond to you! I hope you see this! The pressure of a CPAP device on an open sinus can be tremendous. That being said, if you need the CPAP in order to stay alive, then by all means where the CPAP! If the gum is completely closed in the area where the sinus bone graft membrane perforation occurred, it really should not cause a problem. If there is an open socket, you’re basically forcing air directly into the sinus cavity. If your CPAP only has a nose piece, it may not be an issue at all. Most people that wear CPAP have a face mask that covers both nose and mouth. If your medical Dr. allows you to sleep without the CPAP on some nights, it should be considered. But only you, your medical Dr. and your dentist can make those decisions.

Thanks again for your response, I am entitled to the VA and elected to have the VA doctor attempted a SINUS AUGMENT VERT APPROACH for a rear implant, when he reached the 5mm mark he noticed he perforated the Maxillary Sinus. I should have known better and did without the implant, maybe a bridge would have been more prudent. Anyway, now I must cope with it and hope it heals properly. Now I need to pursue some answers from him like: What was the void area filled with or was it closed like a tooth extraction? The tear in the sinus membrane was it minimal? Do I still have a semi lift of about 5mm below the membrane? I only assume the void area was filled. I salute you for dedication to your work and concern for others. Your help to others is quite admirable. aL

amigo aL Thank you for your kind words ;-) Most things heal...hopefully you dont smoke or have diabetes because that would slow it down. The procedure can be done again although you may need a "lateral approach" sinus graft. watch this video to gain more insight: www.burbankdentalimplants.com/upper-molarinternal-sinus-lift-3-d-scan-real-time-dental-implant-before-and-after-planning-video-narrated-by-ramsey-amin-dds/

Non smoker and no diabetes...A big NO on a repeat try.Unless it was you doing it. I can live with the open space in the rear..Good health to you and thanks again...aL
