I always try to add roundhouse kick after axe. Usually head is lower, guard is completely down, so you have clear shoot 👌

If the motion of the kick is mainly circular isn't that a variant of the hook kick rather than an axe kick where the motion is principally straight down (like an axe/ax)?

Good videos, question no matter what I try stretching, etc. My front and inner crescents are okay. I cannot get height on outer crescents, side, round or hook kicks. And advice? I'm a man, mid 30s

Doesn't an axe kick loose power on the original lift (I may be practicing it wrong but I try to lift it as high as I can and drop it) the thing I hate most about it is I feel like i have 0 power coming down (or is it more of a stun move)

The first one is pretty common to us and used by a lot of my team mates so they know how to block it. But anyways great tips tho.

2nd kick looks like a hook kick

Alex the first and 3rd technique you are throwing are crescent kicks and the 2nd technique is a hook kick. There are multiple ways to throw a Axe kick but your delivery is turning these kicks into different techniques then what you are intending. That being said you did throw a couple axe kicks in the video when you were demonstrating however they were mostly Crescent kicks that hit with the heel and basically you are almost there tho if you get your knee more vertical on those hook kicks it will force you to drive your leg down across the bod so you will do an axe kick hitting either the side of the head, ear of clavicle area. the 1st and 3rd technique go completely to the drawing board because that will get you hurt and no one wants to see that.

Could you do a video like this but for hook kick? I like the hook kick but am having a tough time applying it.

Nice video. Trying to intregate modern itf/wt Twd combat sport techniques in K1 Kickboxing. It has been working pretty good so far. The Thaiboxers cannot deal with my speed and huge variety of kicks that come from different angles.

axe kicks come down like an axe. nice flexibility but you need a bit more to be powerful. And then you can learn how to do an axe kick
