Hi I bought the A7iii which I know you were using before you switched. Could you tell me which lens you were using for the playthroughs/covers back in the day?
This is great man, Thanks for the tips. For me the problem comes with the audio. I want to play from different angles in my videos, that's fine but, how can I do it without having to pre-record the music played and avoiding playback during filming? Thanks.
Well, you could have a multiple angle set up and stream it, having programmed camera switches built in to different parts, though that would be a lot of legwork - not many people do that way as it's not very cost or time effective :)
What I do is record the video and audio simultaneously with every take and angle. Then I edit the takes to make the cover and depending on the takes I used, I use the videos corresponding to those takes so everything you see in my covers is what I'm actually playing, no real playback.
That is certainly an option if you have 2-3 cameras, but I'd say not necessary at all,; just do single takes of different angles, and then in post, sync the footage to the recording, and cut to the angles you think fit best for each part!
I use premiere pro, but free desktop softwares like DaVinci resolve work too. You will have a bit of a nightmare trying to line up and edit everything properly in an app like capcut, though it is definitely possible
I've never really thought of you using super wide angle coz my room is really cramped. But then my videos look crap coz I have to tilt my phone to fit the guitar when I crop my video (I do dual guitar covers so basically I have to crop the height of my videos to have two videos fit). Looks like I'll need some major room re-arrangement this weekend. Thanks for these tips.
Yeah adding a expensive light and a 1.500€ camera makes the video look better! I cannot believe it! Like i just came here just for that thx! Now im down 2000€ euros and 5 more ppl watched my video!
Thats bullshit, you can get such light for less than 10 dollars. Also, if you have any newish phone, it has perfectly fine camera for quality video. If you do little bit of editing you can fix most of the problem.
