I have thick hair and the lob works just fine. It looks good even though my hair isn't straight, but has a lot of wave to it.

I completely disagree. I just recently got a lob and my hair is ultra thick, and I got a considerable amount of layers and all I've gotten is compliments about how full and healthy it looks. I really like the kind of edgier, shaggy look that a layered lob has. My hair is stick straight, but it still has movement and looks like it has texture because of how thick my hair is and how the layers show.

This is exactly the same for me! I got mine done 2 days ago and I love it! My hair is thick and wavy and with the layers it looks perfect. Lots of texture and movement that looks simple and edgy. This guy is mistaken.

Hi I have thick hair and i really want a lob haircut :( how short did u get yours cut and did you get a lot of layers?My hairs normal length now and I have layers but I'm bored of it and wanted a new haircut

+Penny Riley I got it cut 1-2 inches below my collarbone, with the shortest layer being around/just above my chin. I also have a really deep side part, so on that side the shortest layer is around my nose. You can see my instagram @baemily.kim to see more pictures of my hair.

That's so cool because our hair is the same, I just donated 18 inches of my hair, I was so scared it was going to look thin, but when I got it done my hair was still really thick and the layers make it look really volumous and I love it now, but I'm so glad it doesn't look thin, that was my worst fear

My layered Asian hair is perfect with a lob. And it's not hard to put it in an updo. My sister has a lob and her hair is SUPER thin, so updos don't work for her. I think it depends on your hair texture if you can put your lob in an updo.

In love with lobs.Love the messy beachy wave look. When I went to the hairdresser and asked for a lob, I ended up with a style similar to Rachel Green from friends. Not very cute. Sigh. I wonder if it is because of my thick hair, since it's mentioned here that lobs don't work with thick hair :(

I got a lob and I have thick hair. My stylist just took a lot of the weight out by thinning it. It sounds like your problem is that your hairstylist gave you too many layers? Try growing the layers out and keeping the length. And check out the way Olivia Palermo has her lob, she has very thick hair and I think it looks pretty.
