Very informative. I have a clock that was given to me, but the movement was all apart. I am a amature, but was successful at getting it back together, but am not sure I assembled it correctly.. The gears with the pins that make the strike are different. (they will interchange, but one has more pins than the other.) The clock will run great with the hands off, but as soon as I add the hands, it locks up. Facing the front of the clock, I have the gear with the most pins on the left. Could you tell me if that is correct?
