@@pageroo9644 , lol, there you are 🧌🤣. As a nomad myself, I happen to enjoy & appreciate her content. She puts out loads of free info for those who are unable to purchase her books or affiliate gear. I'm happy for her that she makes some money on this stuff. YT can be a noble side hustle for those who are good at it.
I'm sorry you had to make a video to defend trying to help people. You and TJ are great for adding/clarifying information. This is super helpful content and I'm glad you aren't put off by the negativity.
Many thanks to you and, especially, TJ, for these videos. I'm not a nomad, but the topic interests me and I enjoy living vicariously through your videos. The fact that your lifestyle "works" is great and a commentary on our society. The fact that you received so much negativity about your earlier video with TJ is also a commentary on our society, but not a flattering one. Although the avatar was interesting and a bit humorous, I don't think it detracted from the presentation. Keep up the great work, Robin AND TJ. Great information for those who have the need, patience, talents, etc. to pursue it. And best regards to TJ in upcoming retirement!!
I am 66 and NEVER been hindered for anything i have decided to do. If you think you are too old then you are. Positive attitute works best in every situation in life.
With ageism it's not about us older folks thinking we're too old. It's about other people thinking we are and not giving us a chance to prove ourselves.
I agree however, I find it hard to remain positive sometimes because at 60 society tells me I am told old to do something adventurous that I think will bring me joy but I am trying to stomp down that voice in my head that gives in to that thinking!
I am 76 and thought I was doomed to rejection you gave me hope. Those SSA folks just dont give us enough to live on even if we have other small income. I would be grateful for even $50 per week I am desperate.
Am 65 - been a follower - retiring next month and we are DOING it! I just finally bought both books for guidance as we are RV virgins! Thanks for the Joy in the Journey!!!
I am literally filling out a form for an offer from a company as i watch your video... i am trying to earn enough to go see my brother and not be broke.. i have done these in the past... once you start filling out the forms, more offers will come, just keep going...
Robin, I can't believe you got any negative feedback on your first video on this topic. I thought it was fabulous, and very generous of you both to provide it. I watched it in full even though I have a successful online business and don't (and won't ever) need additional work. These people who complain sound like lazy whiners who don't have the wherewithal to get up off their butts and do anything to help themselves. This is probably why they are in need of money in the fist place. Keep doing the great and very helpful work you do!
We use avatars sometimes in my company's Teams meetings. Avatars, funny profile pics, add-ons...etc. We mix it up to have fun! Working from home can be isolating and monotonous. I 100% get TJ's reasons for staying anonymous! These interviews are great, the information is priceless!
I want to say thanks to you two ladies. After watching your video i went and got a PayPal account and started signing up to surveys. I made 126.00 my first month. I know that's not a lot, but if i do enough to just pay my phone bill every month, its worth doing. Anyhow, thanks again.
Good golly Miss Molly. Some folks will gripe about anything, probably while not even trying to do these jobs themselves. So many just want you to tell them how to make a couple thousand bucks every week without even trying. You ladies keep spreading the word; those who really want to work will benefit. 🎉❤
The topic isn't really on point for me personally since I've worked solely online for 17 years for my own business. BUT I love anything you put out. You are articulate and interesting and always have the best guests. My only complaint is when you skip a week with a new video. :-) Thank you as always for your great content.
I just checked my kindle library and yes indeed my copy of Work from Home While You Roam has been automatically updated! Thanks Robin for your support and your continued dedication ❤☺️
No problem with the Avatar. I've been working diligently with a lot of the companies since October but I am offen told I didn't qualify or wasn't a fit for the majority of the studies or missions. I get up at 5am to do the itellizoom tasks, yet I didn't qualify. I'm 67 and very healthy. I think there is a lot of ageism.
I’m 55 years old, just started doing what TJ is doing and I can say, I’ll be able to buy my first rig next year for my full time RV living . The people that speak negatively about it, have they tried it for more than just a few hours or a day! I am also doing Virtual Assistant and just got certified in Medical and travel. I have now stop working outside the home. That all I do for a few hours in the morning, then spend the rest of the day with my 3 fur babies
I find it interesting that people like yourself will make posts like that, proclaiming how great things are working from home for just a few hours per day ... but you all never post names of the legitimate companies. Very suspicious.
For all the negative comments saying they tried multiple times and no one hired them, have you ever hunted for a job in person?? Sometimes you have to go to dozens and dozens of job interviews or more depending on the job market where you live. This topic is work from home or having side hustles. It’s “work” and most of the time you have to “hustle”…. This isn’t a get rich quick for little to no time or effort scheme. For me it’s about keeping my mindset positive and understanding I’m investing my time in the overall process, even if I have to sift through a lot of rejections. Also as with any job, there’s a big learning curve at the beginning but once you learn what and how to do it, the whole process becomes more streamlined and you create your own systems that make sense to you or fit into your time and lifestyle. Thank you ladies for such helpful information, tools, and tips on ways to work remotely.
You are so right about the people that do stuff and the people that complain about stuff! Oh my gosh! Yes. I actually appreciate someone sharing their information that helps us all so much!
Thank you, TJ and Robin. These jobs are not for everyone, they are just giving all the info to the people that are looking for these type of jobs. Just the messager!!!! There are work from home jobs where you work as an employee. Strict hours and rules. They know when you go potty. I have worked WFH call center for the last 6 years. I horrible hours
👏👏GREAT VIDEO!!! Is there anyway that TJ could send us a blank/template spreadsheet of how she keeps track of the companies? That would be soooooo helpful! Thanks for putting this info out there.
Robin & TJ, Thank you, for sharing this information and content with us. Avatar's work for me and not an issue because I used them myself at work and when using social media.
I haven't started my path down this road yet, but I just wanted to say don't pay attention to the haters out there. It's obvious that what you're doing is working for you, and there is no shame in promoting your book. That's what RU-vid is about. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
The bad thing about UserTesting is that you have to link your Paypal account, bank account and usertesting account. Basically you're giving userTesting access to your bank account. I don't think so.
I found the information very helpful. This is something i have the kind of personality to do, and i will do it. It strikes me that without a full time remote desk job, this wouldn't be so convenient, though. It would probably require going out of your way quite a bit to be attached to a device. If you're already attached to a device 9-5 it's helpful. I am that person, with a full time remote desk job so for me this is a really good option. Trolls are everywhere, unfortunately. I think of them as the same people who make vile gestures at other drivers on the road, aggressively spewing hate and then driving off. They are miserable people. We all have to ignore them.
Thank you ladies for taking the time to, unfortunately, create a video to defend what you do to support yourselves. The additional information is greatly appreciated. I have had Robin's book since day one and have helped patrons in my library community find jobs. It works and yes you have to be persistent to find what works for you.
I listened to this and my daughter age 39 and I age 68 have both been doing dscout app for under a month. I’ve completed four express missions and have 3 interviews scheduled next week. When they pay it is over $200. For just starting out and very little time, we’re both having success. I have been consistent and organized as suggested. My daughter just got her first interview. She started later than me. Once we do this for a while, we’ll add another site. Thanks for the great video.
Robin and TJ. Thank you for putting these video trainings together. I'm turning 70 this month and started applying for missions on dscout. I have not been accepted for any yet (about two weeks,) but this morning I found I am now being offered express missions. I'm applying for all of them this morning. I am also continuing to apply for others that interest me. Great work you two. Much appreciated.
I'm older than 65, educated, and frugal (don't buy brand names). I have found very few that would accept me. Time invested vs monetary rewards just don't balance.
Love the encouraging vid - you know, sometimes it's best to just ignore the negative comments. HOWEVER I think this vid addressed some legit concerns and issues for people who are not familiar with remote work. Good job ladies. You found a great balance of actual issues and didn't just let this devolve into a clapback vid. Well done!!
Thank you two so much for taking the time to answer all these audience concerns. 👏 The particular techniques you outline to navigate the hiring processes so one knows what to expect are _greatly_ appreciated!
Many thanks, once again, for the excellent content. I have been blessed, inspired and encouraged by your professionalism, dedication, sense of humor and your honesty. I choose to glean what I can use to make me a better person. I appreciate folks like yourself & TJ who really do care to make the world a better place. I am looking forward to paper version of your book. Your hair looks great.
Thank you both for this video ! I am 65 and honestly I am a bit over the crabby, narrow minded, hateful and negative people in my generation! With age does NOT come a nasty negative disposition, you have to willingly choose it! Good gravy relax people, so she doesn’t want her face shown, it doesn’t automatically make her a fake or a fraud! Some people want everything handed to them on a silver platter without having to lift a finger. You are both great people! ❤
You cannot convince people who always have an excuse for themselves and for not succeeding. They just want to complain. It's easier for them than trying to fix what's wrong.
This is a great resource and time saver for many. This book is really for people who want office work online or want a temporary job where they are going to RV. The money to be made doing surveys and such is not worth your time. I don't think you can make a living just clicking at home without a real online skill. Keep that in mind.
The first video on this topic, home remote jobs, Age was my pet peeve, All I checked out didn't want my age group, Robbin replied 'demographics' Perhaps things have changed and we senior citizens are getting recognized as being alive
Thanks for the tip about applying and starting side hustles before retirement. I’m retiring at the end of the year and was planning to find something next year. But perhaps I’ll start sooner . . .
My experience was to have difficulty finding any of the survey type or research gigs, because of age. The virtual assistant jobs were as bad, and forget the ESL tutoring companies. Perhaps once someone is over 65, the chances drop-off dramatically.
Thank you both for the information! It was super helpful and I plan to get started tomorrow. Will be 53 this year and was recently laid off. Working a couple side hustles now and hoping this will lead to more consistent income.
Awesome interview! Thank you and thank you TJ! Great information. Thanks for being generous in sharing your insight and advice TJ. Invaluable information. Robyn. So cool to see you back in your 5th wheel. I thought maybe you sold it! Hopefully your kitten enjoys the 5th wheel and doesn't get stuck down in those stairs. All the best to both of you. Ciao
Great video. I have had the book for awhile but have not taken advantage of the opportunity. Now I am thinking it would be nice to have a little more money each month. Thank you for the free update and the inspiration.
Thank you so much for sharing. It doesn't cost you anything but your time. I don't understand some people. It seems like they just want it handed to them.
Never once thought avatar lady wasn't real. Loved your various avatar selections here lol-good point for the stupids out there. You offer so much help, many appreciate. Great content. 🍻
Wow. I’m always shocked (and then not shocked) by how rude people can be (keyboard bullies) when you and TJ are trying to help!! Going to go buy your book now so I can start benefiting from the content asap. Thank you for sharing the info!! ❤
I really need to make extra money to pay off bills. My daughter stole 3,900 dollars from me and it was a bank loan and I need to pay it off. I need to move because I live in a fire trap and waiting for the roof to fall in. I want to get started ASAP. But the books I see and will see if I can get them soon. But I need to see if I can get them through the library first. No money. Thank you for any help you can give me.
I'm fine w/avatar. Privacy is important. Appreciate all the info. I tried surveys. Frustrated w/dSccout & all the video interviews. How can I use an avatar? I didn't understand how the payment was earned /placed into PayPal. Did not want any company linked to my bank account. Recently scammed thru Facebook. Not connected to these jobs. Robin - keep up the good work!
This woman's credibility was shot to zero when she said she's done user testing "butt naked right out of the shower" ... and the reason it destroyed her credibility is because I believe she was telling the truth about that and it indicates that something is off with her because NO reasonable, decent, and sane woman (or man) would sit down at their computer to work "butt naked" ... and therefore, anything they are promoting or selling or whatever should be disregarded.
Avatar general question...if TJ winks, does the avatar wink? If the avatar shakes its head, is that because TJ is shaking her head? I don't have experience with avatars, but I trust anything from Robin as true and genuine ❤
Could you please suggest an inexpensive laptop that I can use to work on that would meet the requirements of these apps. I currently only use my mobile or tablet. TIA
I’m curious about the day to day schedule of your guest. How much time she devotes to different aspects in order to make the mi ey she makes? Thank you for doing these videos!
Has TJ shared the average number of hours per week she’s working currently & when she started? Her average monthly income is impressive, however, if she’s working 40 hours a week the hourly average is pretty low.
On the avatar, it makes me think of that lawyer that went viral for being a cat during trial! (I'd much rather use an avatar during WFH meetings than have to get dressed up!)
It depends on which industry you're applying for. There is definitely ageism in the tech industry but most other things online are fine, especially if they don't have to see you.
I'm sorry. I hate to be negative at all. You are doing great things. I didn't complain but I purchased your book the day you announced it at the 2019 rtr. I never got it! It wouldn't download. The information would have been so valuable.
