I know it's epicly long in comparison to my other videos but I wanted to test out what kind of feedback I get. If you found the video informative, please give it a like...if you thought I waffled on a bit, comment below and let me know =)
I really like the six barrels tonic syrup. I always tell people who think they don't like gin that they probably just don't like post mix tonic. My favourite gin at the moment is the West Winds in the blue bottle ✨
My favorite cocktail is a negroni, drinking them about 5 years now, recently my wife started adding tonic water to them, about 2 weeks now, didn’t know it was an actual cocktail 😜 love it
Loved this video, very nice to see the different comparisons between a certain style of drink. The Italian G&T looks great. Would love to see a video on the different types of tonic syrup and how to use/make them.
Thanks Adam! It was a bit of test to guage what kind of response I get...little different to all the other videos I've posted. A lot longer, multiple drinks, etc. The Italian G&T was great, especially if you like Americano's, Negroni's, etc. That's a great idea re: tonic syrup comparisons! I'll be making a tonic syrup video later down the track - just waiting to move place so I have a suitable kitchen for filming! :)
Will do a few variations every so often - keeps it interesting I think. It'll be interesting to see the video retention rate considering it's 10+ minutes... =)
Hi, thanks for all the clips. Suggestions for camera work: close up on the bottles before or after they are used in the drink. This will help to see the label, shape, name, and other specifics for those who are interested or are seeing it for the first time. Close-ups would also make the clips more interesting to watch and adds some dimension to the clips
Just saw this albeit it is from '17. Some great summer drinks there Steve (even if in the North we don't get great summers). Sacrilege to adulterate the negroni with a soft drink though. The only way you can mess with a negroni is to put more booze in it! Most enjoyable video.
I always use proportions of 1-2-3. 1 part of the "something extra", 2 parts gin, 3 parts tonic. You should also try it with an oaky port. And Angostura always makes it even better...
Awesome vid! Where's that vid on making your own Tonic Syrup? Stuffs hard to get, here in the Netherlands, so I'd be looking into making it myself maybe. Cheers!
Yet to film that one! Eek.... If stuff is hard to get there then it might be tough to get the key ingredient which is cinchona (or cinchona bark).... it has been pretty hard to come by in Australia until recent years..
Steve, it may be worth it to re-record some of these older videos with your new editing style. I'm pretty much just watching your videos as they come into my recommendations and your new style is much more enjoyable.
I clicked on this one because a coworker told me how a neighbor had asked her to come over and enjoy a Gina and Tonic. She had nothing to do and went and really enjoyed the beverage. She said it was very refreshing and drinkable. That has me curious! I want one now the next BBQ or summer outing I go to.
In Australia a shot is 30mL.. so 30 x 1.5 = 45. 1 shot of spirit is 1 standard drink. Are you in the UK? I know there standard shot size is only 25mL... so I guess it depends where you are located.
Steve the Bartender I’m in the US where a shot is 1.5 fluid ounces, which is 44.36mL and I’m sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking. For some reason I was thinking an ounce was 50mL. Oh well :/
