To all those saying she has no common sense...this women has done one of the hardest first step and that's asking for help! She sat there and took Jo's criticism and followed her words and advice ....well done mum! Wish you all the best xxxx
If anyone is thinking of criticizing the mom for laughing, that’s a very common defensive mechanism when you’re really nervous. We all deal with things differently and it seemed pretty normal given the circumstances.
I was thinking that! I also think that Kayden has ADHD or O.D.D somehow, not that it’s an excuse i can just tell even after Kayden has been given what he wants he’s continuing as if to get out what’s in him.

I feel for this mother. She simply doesn't have the mental energy to deal with the kids b.s. after working full-time and studying for her degree. She's doing her best with what she has in her arsenal. 😢😢i wish her the best
yet she has the mental energy to go to the gym and get her hair and nails done. These kids are just an inconvience to her and would be better off in care
My heart goes out to Ashley for letting help in, as embarrassing as it must've been. My heart also goes out to those little kids who NEED boundaries to be safe in this world.
@@elizabethg2428 I'd guess there not actually anything wrong with the three year old. But there is something wrong within the home environment in which he's developing. Credit to the parents for seeking help, I just hope they act on the advise given and sustain the changes.
@@jeannedennis5863 Parenting classes - in this day, you wont get any good advice or help from many of them. You'd get thousands of different ways and directions based on the individual and left more confused.
All the best. I felt so bad for mom. She needed her moms help.. she needed the father of the childrens help. But yet she was able to reach out to get the support she needed. Jo did an awesome job...and so did mom.❤
I know this is serious and sad but when lil boy was getting in trouble and he said, “Fine, I’ll just pee my pants then”😂😂😂😭😭😭 What kind of sacrificial war strategies😂💀💀
I would like to see this episode shown in every first year of high school so teenagers see the reality of having kids before they are ready emotionally and financially.
Well.. I wasn't ready by your standards however my son never acted this way just the opposite... because I set rules and made sure he respected authority and took corrections from early on.. this is simply down to bad parenting and that can happen at any age, even rich and married couples are on this show, so it has nothing to with not being ready, it's about not really caring and allowing your kids to set the rules.
I think all parents should go to parenting classes to give them techniques on how they can handle challenging behaviour. It makes no sense that teachers and childcare workers have to have training and parents don't.
I think that's a great idea, but in practice how are all these parents going to afford these classes? Especially in the US, where lots of mothers go into debt just to give birth.
Where are the fathers? Why aren't they around. I give her credit for going to school. Is she getting child support? That 3 year old is going to be in jail by the time he is 12.
@@bethfrance5833 Exactly!!!! He's a nightmare and the mother is clearly the problem, I hope Jo is paid her weight in gold for dealing with these "Children of the Corn"!
It’s very easy to criticize the mom here because she’s the parent and she’s in charge. But I truly do admire her for working full time, bettering herself by putting herself through college, supporting her kids all on her own, while simultaneously taking care of her physical health AND her emotional health by reaching out and asking for help. This mom is amazing and she’ll get it together for her kids because she knows she’s all they have. I wish I could applaud her and hug her. Those kids are blessed to have her.
Makes me laugh that she uses the same treatment with the parents...tell them what they dont want to hear.... let's them air their grievances, tells them what she wants from them.....then BIG HUG and apology from parent 😂 love it!
@@tenniskinsella7768as I always said, The kids were not born like that. The parents created little monsters and later they don’t know how to deal with them. When the kids are little, everything is cute; the parents forget that in no time the kids are going to be teenagers!!
SPOILER ALERT: After reading the follow- up on this episode, Ashley abusing the kids, the kids going to foster care, Ashley's death from an overdose, I'm sick to my stomach. She was so beautiful with so much motivation and hope. And for a 3 year old, Kaiden's verbal skills were amazing. And what about the 3rd child she had after this episode? An American tragedy. I'm almost afraid to look up Kaiden's name on line.
I found the spoiler alert and it's true..This beautiful young woman was trying so hard and was destroyed by her circumstances, no help from family and monster children...Heartbreaking. 25 years old and shouldering all the financial responsibilities
This mom is trying her best, alone and she's so patient. She's doing whatever she can. I know moms who have all the help in the world and don't do half of what she does. She just needed to change some stuff to live better.
My heart goes out to that situation. If anyone can help, it’s Joe - she’s amazing. That being said, it’s clear there’s a behavioral diagnosis in that little boys future also. May they all find the professional help they need❤️
Poor mom. She is very patient. I would have already lost my mind and given them to grandma. One day with my mom and those kids would not even speak unless told they could. All she had to do was cut those eyes and you froze! So happy the mom asked for the right kind of help.
She looked like she was trying so hard. She was saying no and not losing her cool but it wasn't enough. I'm glad she was able to get some strategies to help.
He needs to get what he gives, once he realizes if he gives pain he will receive pain he will stop. There is nothing wrong with correction. He understands what he’s doing, he expresses clearly.
They were also acting up because Kaiden said that Ashley was abusive. She would hit him and Kayla and then cover it with makeup so Supernanny couldn't tell the difference. And then she lost custody of the kids, Kayla went to foster care and got married last year and Kaiden now lives with his grandma. And as of for Ashley she died in May last year so she is no longer alive.
The mom losing patience and asking, "I don't see the point in putting this locks... is this why I called her here. I don't think I am getting my deposit back"... umm the point is to keep your children safe, is it really that hard to understand?
I’m so proud of mom here ! She set those boundaries and put in the necessary routine for those children who desperately needed her to step up . From one single mom to the next 🤗

Throughout this entire video I kept thinking how happy I was that these weren't my neighbors. Can you imagine living next to this in an apartment building?
Kudos to Ashley for reaching out for the help she clearly needed. I’ve been that young single mom and it can be hard. I hope they’re all doing well now, she seemed really receptive she just needed some direction.
Safety tip: there should be no room in the house that the parent can't get into, locked or unlocked. Change the knobs to ones that can be opened on both sides.
That poor girl had enough trouble with that front door latch. It's an apartment, little she can do. Where the hell is the dad is what I'd like you know.
@@bettebyrd I disagree in the conclusion and finality of this statement..as it infers an element of parent shaming. There are genetic and spiritual factors also. Children are wise and manipulative..they are our best teachers. 🙏
She never checked their behavior when they started acting that way. So now that it's so far gone it's very difficult to train them. This is what school teachers and day care workers have to put up with....No way..That spitting disgusting 😤 that has to be corrected immediately.
I love the way Jo talked to Ashley once Ashley opened up about how she felt and had to do it all her self. She did need (at that time) for Jo to talk to her in the manner that she did. Thanks for this.
@@donnawatt7124 Your comment is judgey, the mother is checked-out and withdrawn. There's allot of reasons for why that could be, financial stresses, mental health decline, feeling like nobody cares about her.
@@kez755holy crap! It’s not about her! It’s about the children! SHE spread her legs and chose to create these two children. If you choose this, ITS NOT ABOUT YOU! She’s a horrible mother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Judge that kez!
@@mookbear2001ironically for you, it turns out part of why these kids turned out this way was because they were being beaten. They ended up being taken from the mother by CPS after her mother found out she was abusing the kids.
It always strikes me how these women do it all alone. Does she have no connection to the father? No family of her own, mother, etc who could help and advise? No extended family?
I just read an article. Ashley got married, had another child, Kaiden and Kayla got taken away because she was abusing them and covering it with makeup so CPS wasn’t called. AND ASHLEY DIED 2 MONTHS AGO. Seeing the updates on these families is kind of scary...
I grew up with Crystal ALL over my house. And antique breakables. We always respected moms decorations. I always thought it was different that at others people's houses that everything was break proof and not glass/crystal. When those people would come to my house to play, they would be scared to hang out in certain areas of the house. That was the day I realized that my house and our discipline was not typical. They would disrespect and break things and not be careful. Whereas at my house, we knew to be respectful and not break mom's decorations and glass furniture.
I’m glad to see her spending the time reading. It gives her non confrontation time to ENJOY motherhood and her children who she has devoted everything she could to.
so you want kids to be spanked? that’s illegal because it can potentially cause injuries leading to death. violence is never the answer no matter if you’re young or old
Who's going to tell her that the mom was beating both kids the entire time? This behavior is EXACTLY what physical punishment causes. Just google kaiden mckinney ....
My mother was not abusive and rarely had to spank us - but she did when we deserved it, and we learned not to do it again. When my brother bit me, she bit him back. He never bit anyone again.
I SO agree. Now, we are forcing women to have children (no birth control) yet, we don't allow them to parent, and we don't provide social services...Blame, blame, blame the poor worn out moms...
I feel for this poor mom. It is super hard raising 2 high energy, strong-willed children, especially with no help. You can’t spend endless hours trying to discipline them when you have other things to do as well. I’m glad she got help; I hope it lasts.
