As many of you know I sold my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 recently but before I sold it I filmed this video to give you guys a 3 year 48k mile update on the truck.
Hey man I have an 18 as well. Same truck all star package everything except in red hot. I freaking love it. Definitely a head turner with 7" lift and 35s. Hope you stay with Chevy. New ones have been growing on me as I like the obs body style like you.
In March of 2023 i got a 2017 woth 46,000 miles with a brand new dealer installed RC 6" Lift on 33s. I immediately got a range technologies AFM delete and did a transmission flush and installed a lower temp thermal bypass. Changed all fluids, transfer case, front and rear diffs as well as oil! Also undercoated it with the black fluid film! With the price of a new truck ithis one will be around for a long while! Hopefully with good maintenance as well as the preventive maintenance i did she will be around awhile!!! Lol 🤞
But he also could be doing that to trick us... maybe he got a Ram and is tricking us with the chime and the likes... I guess we’ll have to wait until Sunday 😪😪
I remember I was looking to buy a truck in 2017 and I was dead set on a 2014 body style, but then I saw the new body style and immediately fell in love with it . Love my 2016 Silverado lol
For those of y’all wanting to get the v4 disabled modular, I actually took my 07 up to a tuner (RPM in Garner NC, btw legendary tuner shop) and they plugged up a computer and straight up just turned v4 off. Cost only $150. I would definitely recommend going to a tuner instead of buying the modular cause it saves you a lot of money and you don’t always have something plugged into the OBD2 port
I have a 2017 silverado 5.3 same color. After the range it drives amazing, literally my favorite truck. Amazing video, but really hope you got a 6.2 with 10 speed. That engine is the best engine and way quicker than the 5.0 Ford.
I have a 2018 Silverado LTZ Z71 centennial edition and I love that truck no amount of money would be work selling it. Also have a 19 AT4 with a 6.2L and that is a very nice truck too you couldn’t go wrong with either one
Love your content. I bought my 2018 Silverado in 2019 and similar setup as yours except it's a double cab. I haven't had any issues out of it and I hope to have this thing for as long as I can. I came out of a FJ cruiser and got into this truck. I definitely want it to stick with toyota, but I can't complain too much this truck is been good. No issues. I agree with the range technology module. The truck drives better and shifts better. I do have an air intake on it and I put the transmission thermostat delete in. I'm at 4300 miles, but I did put over 20,000 this summer in 2020. Did a couple of road trips from California to the South. I'm still following your content because it's still good, I don't care what truck you drive keep up the good work.
I’ve had my 2016 for just over a year now and still love it. Love the OBS look and I agree 100% they will be desired down the road and hard to find in good shape just like the OBS are now
If I could choose any newer than obs body style, I would go for the 14 to 15s. I absolutely love the front end on those especially when you got all chrome
I’ve got a 2019 LD Z71 (old body style) and I’m not sure I want to keep it. Rides nice but the engine seems to sputter at red lights and stop signs. I want to like it but still unsure. You have a nice truck though
I have the exact same truck. How did you get the white Z71 badge to work? I got one from Amazon but it's got a bracket and threads almost as if it's not for this grill if that makes sense lol
He got the Ford - I hate that chime they have. It drives me nuts every time they leave their keys in at the gas station and are pumping gas with the door open.
Recognize the door chime gotta be a ford. Donr blame you as much as I prefer the exterior and interior of the chevys the 5.0 drives way better then the 5.3 and doesnt need premium like the 6.2
I have the same truck bought it new only 15k miles myn gives a mad jerk when I'm about to stop. The rpms rev when it jerks but my tow mode is off any ideas? I do have a range in it also.
Had a 2017 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 and it had a 5 inch lift and all sorts of things great truck. Just traded it in for a 2011 Silverado 2500 Duramax and holy shit lmao my Duramax absolutely shits on that 5.3 I had. I love these newer 5.3 trucks but damn this diesel is a whole different world.
And you didn't mention the maintenance on a diesel is a whole different world as well $$$! I get it owning a diesel if you're towing equipment or a big RV but if not F--k that! Especially when they break
Thank you for posting this video. I’m looking at 2017 same body but a dark blue. I’ve been driving Ford first truck was a 08 F150 XL work truck wreck it and went to a 97 F150. I’ve never been a one brand person I don’t care what brand it is as long it gets me to point a to b. 3.08 rear ended ? I thought it was z71 did this body style not have the 373 on z71s? My 2008 ltz avy got g80 373 and it’s 2wd weird iguess bc it’s an ltz and needs to tow but I checked the glove box
Damn I’m about to hit 36k mikes in 14 months haha. Did a 4in bds lift with 35x18s on 3.42 gears. IMO this truck needs 4.10s at the minimum. My end does feel like it’s starting to wear from the extra weight, and me overloading when hauling sure isn’t helping haha. But never left me stranded so plus one for the bowtie
