I have had this exact bag also for almost 4 years and it’s in perfect condition inside and out. I don’t treat this bag at all except clean the handles with disinfecting wipes. I do keep the lock on and don’t see any stretching, it will tarnish but honestly I don’t notice nor do I care. It’s a classic bag and absolutely worth the investment
I have the same exact bag which I purchased brand new from the Louis Vuitton Boutique in 2016 which is in excellent condition minus any cracking. Thanks to me wiping it down with water wipes, conditioning and keeping it out of freezing temperatures since I do live in CT where we do get freezing weather here. I have always kept my lock on the bag, I think it adds character with the hole stretching a bit on my monogram Speedy because the leather is softer but my Damier Ebene Speedy hole has not stretched with me keeping my lock attached to it. As for the zipper pull. I never hold the zipper pull by the leather pull to open and shut my bag, I always hold it by the metal piece of the zipper so I won't damage the zipper pull. Rachel Rabang I have that same bag in the 35 and my cracking under the zipper was really bad and that bag was barely used. LV in my area would not replace it after 2 years....sadly. Lesson learned for me.
I was trying to watch this but the video has so many cropping, editing and cutting it feels like I have a very bad connection or you stamble upon every 5th word! Its impossible to watch this!
Loved the video! I'm going to buy my first LV for my birthday and I'm going with the speedy! I'm excited. Would you recommend spending the extra money for the bandouliere? Help!
My first LV bag was a speedy. It's such a classic. I wouldn't go any bigger than the 30 though. It doesn't have the bandouliere strap for the convenience of not holding it, but it's still the best bag to have. The style is so cute. The strap does help out a lot, but for your first bag I think you'd appreciate the speedy. Good luck!
That zipper pull is so hard to take care of. But I think yes. Mine is super wrinkled. Just be careful with it. Bc the wear can eventually turn into it tearing.
That's weird only one feels like that. Both of mine are wearing out. Like the glazing is peeling. When I wear it, I can feel a little bit of a scratch.
I know some sa's are so adamant about time frames and what's normal. I didn't think about taking it in. I guess I can see what I can do with it. I know I can get it repaired but at my expense.
I don’t believe they will repair any bag if the canvas has cracking, but even with heavy use after two years your canvas should NOT crack! I would think they would see that as a defect, rather than being your fault! I would definitely take it in & tell them you’ve had it for two years, a lot of 10 and 20-year-old bags haven’t cracked, it definitely is not you or leaving the bag open; I leave my bag open and I also never zip mine! If you take it in and get the right person I bet you would get a new bag, that is a defect in my opinion!❤️
I purchased this in 2017 and after a few months I had the same cracks. Not sure if it has to do with being made in the U.S but I was highly disappointed. I wish I sprung for the Speedy Bandoulière 25. Better size and more functional for me
