Yeah, I was always fascinated by the stars and the sky in the night. But, only problem was that my city is heavily light polluted. So every time I would go on some small trip away from my city, I would look in the sky and try to see something like shown in this video. But, after many years, Im curently typing this comment in my friend house near the beach without any house around our area. And damn, the sky is glorious and beatifull. Yet, I didnt saw Milky Way which is totally normal cause our eyes cant see it but long exposures cameras can. Too bad that I have Galaxy S6 which doesnt have good long exposure photographing. Too bad.
@@TwojaStara-mv5xw yeah and in these months, is very easy to see the Milky Way clearly with a naked eye. I have a good telescope but I live in the city so I can't even see stars.
@@tachflat1349 light pollution my friend. It drowns out the light of most of the other stars so we only see the brightest. But rare times like this we see their true beauty
@@tachflat1349 it is I have lived in the cities my whole life and in a population of 3 million only about a handful can claim to have seen the night sky without light pollution. And if you search it up you will see the majority of the people in the world havent either That qualifies it as rare dont you think
Went on a cruise when I was like 13 and the one thing I’ll always remember was looking up at the night sky without light pollution blocking the beauty above us and around us. You could see Mars like it was a third the size of the moon. Set a lot of things into perspective
@@Birdman._.you can even see Jupiter in months of November, Jupiter comes close to Earth in a parallel line , orbit, You make take pictures using powerful telescope and camera

That rare moment when you find something on the internet that that makes you sit back and think...wow...what a breathtaking video, thanks for taking the time to to share your passion in such a amazing storybook!
I’ve been occasionally coming back to this when I just need an emotional touch in my life about how beautiful this planet is and can be. I know it’s kinda deep but it makes me less afraid of passing. Knowing I’ll be apart of this beautiful creation again.
You don’t have to be afraid of passing if you know Jesus. He promises if you look for him with an open heart you will find him. If you accept him and his sacrifice you will be able to enjoy a perfect world in the full presence of God, with the beautiful sky and animals, and no pain and suffering. If you reject him, he will respect your decision and will separate himself from you (separation from God is death, which is burning in the Lake of fire forever for your sins). So accept him today! There is no guarantee you will be alive tommorow or later today, so accept him while you can! :D “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 KJV bible.com/bible/1/rom.10.9-13.KJV
Read the New Testament so that you get to know the love of God and the love of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus said: "“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." He also said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." It's important to know the gospel, because it has Jesus's word. We are all sinners, and Jesus came to save us. God sent him to us and he is the savior of the world. It's written "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." So, repent and believe on Jesus Christ, read the gospel to hear His precious word.
Micah Vincent It’s not an ache. It’s an opening. You stepped outside of your small condensed life, and saw your ENTIRE world phase through its own life which has been everlasting for millions of years. Space is so uncomprehendingly beautiful. We barely understand our own fraction of this universe, yet there’s so much more out there beyond the horizon.
After all this time i still come back to watch this. There is something that happens in these 10 minutes that I can't explain that triggers a range of emotions unlike any other youtube video. 5 yrs on and the edit and music still works. Good job
Agreed, the first time i watched this video was in 2021,now it is still the most relaxing and beautiful video i have ever watched on youtube,so therapeutic❤
Love how you can see the 3 dimensional definition of the clouds due to the increased parallax. Also love how you can clearly see how the ships bangs the port and bounces back several times.
Hello all the newcomers! appreciate the support, i’m glad this piece to this day still brings joy to the audience 🙏🙏 I made a new one recently, its one of the latest videos on my channel
Born as a fisherman's daughter, i truly wonder if this is what my father watched every night when he was out on the sea for days. Make me tearing up as i too reminiscing his journey of his life. This video bring me on a journey to a new world full of fantasy and i love it. Really heals my heart. Thank you.
i'm a photographer myself, MAN I RESPECT YOU. This is a painting coming to life. Amazing job, could watch this a million times. just wow. And i came here randomly as well guys. Don't worry about the raindrops on the lens, it proves how genuine your work has been.
@@IamSome1 Do you really think i've been watching all of youtube video for every single second and every single video in youtube since 2009?, you are so funny bruh.
It’s been 6 years since I first stumbled upon this video and I go back to it every now and then. This is my most favorite video on the internet. Just makes me feel something hard to explain.
Probably Donald T. He says World ist useless, all he and all his „friends“ (Kim, Erdogan... usw) just see the money in the world, and Not that, what the world is! I Love this Vid, and I enjoy it to watch!
This looks like this isn't earth. more like, a planet with only the ocean, clouds, rain and a little bit of land mass. and just stars. this is one of the best videos i've ever watched on youtube.
0:28 The night sky truly is amazing...! At the start of the video you said that you hope to convey the experiences and feelings of the "life at sea," with this timelapse. I think you conveyed the emotions in a stunning way to a whole lot of people with this video!
This is one of my favorite videos in existence. I have pretty severe CPTSD and when I’m stuck in a trauma or panic spiral, watching this is one the best ways to bring me back down. Thank you so much. ❤
I’ve never lived in an area were you can look up at the sky at night and see a night sky that beautiful.. it actually makes me want cry.. it’s breathtaking ❤️🌌🌙
Look up a light pollution map and go to a dark area next to you. They’re pretty accurate I think. But just go to a place that is very dark and let your eyes adjust to the darkness. Trust me, it will probably be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen (it was for me).
hichhichh this if not accidental. If you found a simple coke can on the ground, you would KNOW someone created that simple can. How much more the creation of all things! These things are not chaotic, but rather harmonious. Explosions after not harmonious by any stretch of the imagination. Would a tornado in a junk yard produce a perfectly functioning 747?
This is stunning. Plus we need to keep in mind that the camera never really captures nature‘s true beauty. I cant even imagine how beautiful it must be to see this with your own eyes.
Yes truly stunning, as Aditya Saha points out, and in the video as well, this is a long exposure camera, it captures more light over a long period of time (could be 10 seconds to maybe a minute or more vs typical 1/30th of a second typical exposure). So it will appear subjectively brighter than typical experience with the naked eye. However even if it is a technically darker scene, being there in person is of course more stunning and beautiful to behold. It's amazing how we have developed cameras to actually enhance our vision and be able to "see" things that we can't even perceive with out eyes, but so far nothing beats being there in person.

Just shows how we have so much more to learn, we only know a small part of our planet and yet out there with those stars will billions of other worlds to discover are just waiting for us.
In my city we had a blackout at night and the sky looked like this I loved it. I work on the country side and every night I get to watch the stars like this.
This was truly SPECTACULAR. Actually one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. The night time of the universe was truly awe inspiring. Makes one realize truly how small we are; a good thing to remember when one has problems they feel are overwhelming. Take ten minutes to watch this and it puts life and its problems and situations quickly in their proper order. Meaning not that important at all. My wife and I love your videos. Thank you for sharing them with us. You do an excellent job and editing is wonderful. Steve Lochmiller from Sacramento area of California.
Thank you sir! I am flattered. I do read everyone's comments (although hard to reply to all), and it keeps me motivated to put in the effort and continue making quality content!
JeffHK you got a patreon or gofundme running? I'm sure there'd be people who would love to sponsor you for better or additional equipment like a waterproof housing for your camera etc. Also, you could hit up some big companies with your stuff, like GoPro who might want to sponsor you as well. Keep it up buddy, awesome video, could watch that stuff for days... What I like the most btw, is the fact that you put in information and describe what's happening, like the squid fishers, very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing.
I agree. This really sets me back for a minute to think about life, my life and how I felt about it. Amazing Mother Nature, amazing universe and of course amazing work by this guy, Jeff!
night at the sea is the most beautiful thing, and i will never get bored of that.. the complete darkness and silence is so peaceful, with the stars above omg i miss the sea :(
Every time I am stress or worried about something, I will always find myself back to this video. Even years later. I hope you know you're helping people with these videos by capturing how small our worries are and the vast beauty of this universe we live in.
Go to a island when people dont live, once they was power outage in our area for 3 days straight and the 3rd night was one of the clearest nights in whole year, i couldn't believe what i was seeing, stars and more stars everywhere,. Felt like i was seeing through a telescope, sad that how light pollution have ruined over night sky. I wonder how our ancestors must have looked at sky and be fascinated thinking about stars, these days, in most big cities you only see a few handful of stars in night sky, which aren't even stars, usually planets
@@Kellydakitkat I wish I could, mate, but i am unable to, for i do not know of any other content like this, plus this is the only one I've came across.
I wish there was a national star day, where everyone just shuts off power and lights for the night so there would be stars. but this will never happen due to many reasons
People don't even appreciate the nature because They feel like it's not for them... They are tremendously obsessed with money, jealousy, ego, power and they don't even know that because how can a fish say that I'm in a river until someone pull her out of that river she was in, for a fish any river is her world and she always thinks that there is no other world this is the only world
There is so much human would have missed to see if people like you didn't recorded on camera. Absolutely breathtaking views❤ feels like different world
@@sb.1239 Yea I know. I studied Astronomy in university. Its just sad that due to light pollution, a lot of us dont see skies like this all through our lives.
This was just amazing! My 3 kids (13, 10 and 9) actually put down their devices and we sat in silence for 10 minutes watching this. Thanks for allowing me to show my children just how wonderful our world and our universe truly is.
There is no place more peaceful than being out on a calm ocean in warm weather at night with clear skies. When I was a young sailor lookout on USS JOHN MARSHALL we surfaced off the coast of CA at night and I was treated to the most fantastic light show in my life. Not a single city light anywhere to be seen, over one hundred miles off the coast of San Diego. Pitch black darkness around me with only the white foam of waves dancing around the bow from the light of the full moon. Warm ocean breezes a constant as we plowed through the ocean surface at 8 knots. A pod of up to 30 dolphins matched our speed darting to the left and right of us forward of the bow, breaching the waves at times much like a humpback whale. Could it be they had mistaken our steel hull for a humpback, I thought? Fantastic! The light of a million stars can be seen that far out to sea and every few seconds or so a darting meteorite can be seen moving across the entire horizon at phenomenal speed. Yes, the ocean is unpredictable and the best way to enjoy this gift from God is to understand it. You cannot begin to appreciate it until you fear it and understand how to be as safe as you can in it. This is the best video I can find that will give you an idea of the experiences I had while in the Navy and experiencing just how big the world is and how small we are.
My wish is to see those night skies in person. Not neccesarily at sea, just wherever the city lights can't overwhelm the star lights. Thank you for the video!
Pat riciah not as much as the exposure of the camera, which was the point I was trying to make when I said “no one can see the Milky Way *like that* with the naked eye*.
Prince Adam of Eternia That’s not the point I was trying to make, I’m was just saying nobody can see it to the extent of the exposure of the camera.. as I pointed out in my first and second comment.
This is beyond words it looks like special effects especially the clouds and the night stuff "I've seen things you people wouldnt believe" springs instantly to mind
I live in Alaska and in the winter months you can see the stars every clear night, i gotta tell ya.. the stars do not look like that. They’re alot dimmer and smaller. Its definately the camera thats making the stars bigger and brighter.
Revive no just too poor to leave for somewhere better lmao. Our governor is a nut job haha. It is absolutely gorgeous lots to do within an hour drive..but everyone and everything here is backwards lol
working on the big ship with long route is my dream... sometimes we dont need phone or internet, all i need just this peace at the night, ocean, sky... thank you so much for this video, appreciate it❤
Even if you live in the biggest of cities the nearest Bortle 4 sky which is just about 5000 stars should only be. A couple hours of driving away search light pollution map and you should find a site that tells you the Bortle and even lets you measure distances
@@psycho6713 oh yeah, that would be cool! I've always thought it would be cool to have a telescope, but at the moment with where I live I have no use for it😂
You don't see THAT many Stars; the Video probably was taken with very long Exposure Shots and edited quite a lot. The Night Sky certainly can be spectacular at Sea but is nowhere near what we see here. You may also have little to no Light Pollution at Sea but the Air is damp and humid almost all the Time; you can see a much better Night Sky in Deserts, especially if they are at a high Altitude.
4:48 the slow mo guys show just how different the world looks and feels at slow speeds, but the same is true for this kind of large scale time lapses. Seeing the 3 different layers of clouds move so differently from each other is quite amazing. its really like you just put a normal camera underwater in a small lake and watch the surface.
Also, unfortunately, not so many people know about it. I found about it by mistake in 2007 or 2008 when all of a sudden the lights on streets all around my place went off and i was checking on the net what happened.
this is truly a masterpiece of a video. the way you cn still see the stars in the sky so clearly despite the rapid flashes of lightning and the brighten clouds. you would assume it would create alot of noise but instead you see everything so clearly in its raw beauty.
Funny how you change as you get older. 10 years ago I would have watched 30 seconds and said "boring". Nowadays, I can appreciate the beauty and peace of the world and life. Awesome video!
@@limitedquantitysufiyyahexp4905 I’m a Christian! I ain’t “religious” or anything. If you don’t already know, a man named Jesus came to earth 2021 years ago. Fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life, without sin, and was crucified. But he rose from the dead three days later, paying the punishment for the sins of all those who’d believe and trust in Him for salvation. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Guilty of God’s eternal wrath. And Jesus conquered that sin so that anybody can stand righteous before God on the day of Judgment. The creator of the universe humbled himself before man, to the point of death, to save you and me. We don’t have to be good enough, we just gotta trust Him! Hopefully that makes sense. God bless bro🙌
No lie, it's really sad that most of us can't see the sky or stars that well, its so beautiful. I wish that I could travel somewhere that I can actually see the sky. Thats going on my bucket list.
