Is the point and click adventure genre dead? I don’t think so, pal!
It’s time to shine a light on some of the amazing work being done by people in the community discord server for this channel. There are oodles of indie developers working on some incredible point and click adventure games games there, but these are the ones who stepped forward when I asked who in the group would like me to give their project a shoutout.

Born in 81, I was just in the right age to fall in love with p&c adventure games. The very first of these type of games that I ever played, was no other than "Monkey Island 2 Lechuck’s Revenge" and man! I instantly fell in love with those type of games, so I had to get "The Secret of Monkey Island", and right about that time, "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" came out here in Finland, and that really hit the final nail to it! I couldn't get enough of LucasArts games! I had them all! Maniac Mansion, Indy and the Crusade, even Loom! Then later I get to play Sierra's pride and joy "Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers" and the second one (wasn't so great) but much later when "Blood of the Sacred" came out, I had to admit, that even some of the never "3d" p&c games were good. Actually "Gabriel Knight 3" still is one of my all time favorite game! These are GAMES!!!

Nice assessment, and a good offering of games in development! My recommendation to anyone reading is to care very little about established trends (whether that be big story issues or cupboard animations), think about what they truly want to accomplish, and more than that even--yeah definitely more than that--remember why they're making a game, and what joy (or vision) to communicate--and enjoy in the process! Thank you a million times over Adam, for doing these videos as well as creating a much-needed Discord server.

Nice selection. I backed a few of these and look forward to their release! Favorites: Not Another Weekend (released) Dexter Stardust (Episode 0-4 released, short demo available), Watch Over Christmas, Lucy Dreaming.

Amazing video many thanks! Wow, many point and clicks to check! From the released ones, Not Another Weekend is easily one of the best pncs I've played in the past few years (reminded me of Maniac Mansion but with superior puzzle design); loved Zniw also, very cute and with beautiful hand drawn graphics, excellent job! The genre is going strong!

Not another weekend demo was super fun and I’m excited to play the full game too. Unexpectedly dark. Currently playing Zniw Adventure as well. Also Lone McLonegan was just released so another to check out

This puts me to shame. I'm really on top of point and click adventures, and I am watching the development of at least 2-3 dozen of them that aren't on this list BUT you still managed to make a list of games where I have not heard of the majority of them. I do own/have played most of the ones which are out, have backed about 6 others over on Kickstarter, and recently beta tested for Watch Over Christmas (which is really good and should be at the top of everyone's holiday wishlist this year). But I was in the dark on most of the others, thanks for putting this video together!

Call me uninformed, but I really didn't realize that people were still making point-and-click games anymore. Those are what I grew up on and loved, but I kind of thought they died in the '90s and early 2000s. Then I started getting into voice over work, and realized they still are alive!

I see It's been more than a year since you made this video, but I liked it a lot. I grew up playing these kind of games so thank you for sharing more options, also, your game seems quite intriguing, I wonder how's its progress going. All this talk of Indie Point N Click games reminds me of "Out of Order", a great story, funny, great puzzles and an amazing soundtrack. It's abandonware now and you can download it for free with a quick google search. It would be awesome if you did a review of it.

I know I’m late but can anyone help me? There was this old Click and Point game that I can’t seem to find anywhere, nor do I remember the name. It was about a female (explorer, journalist or archeologist) with her partner who I remember their name being Derek (he had blonde hair and glasses and I think he was a cameraman?) who on an archeological site get separated. The female was kidnapped by mercenaries/bounty hunters and the guy was traded off to some tribe where he was tortured. (Don’t ask me, found this game when I was a kid) I remember there being another guy who was an explorer and would help the girl later. Like I said, I can’t remember the name and I have been looking for it for years. It also had multiple parts or game sequels I guess? If anyone knows anything, plz let me know.

I think I found the game you are looking for. It’s called Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars. It’s a point-and-click adventure game from 1996 that has several sequels. It’s about a female journalist and an American tourist who get involved in a conspiracy involving the Knights Templar. The journalist is kidnapped by a man who works for the Templars, and the tourist is rescued by an explorer who helps him find her. I hope this helps!

@@joaquingalasso Thank u very much! But unfortunately, i don’t think it’s the right one. I remember seeing on an Urban Game website (had a logo of an island and and a Hawaiian dancer) and it was a bit more graphic and brutal than what ur describing. I remember finding it in the early 2000s

Too many games using that horrible flash/mobile animation style. Really offputting.

It's much easier to animate that way. Proper animation takes time which many of indie developers don't have. Developing a game as a side project while having a day job and a family is bloody tough.
