30 Amp RV Elec to 15/20 Amp House (don't do this at home) but it is pretty easy.

How long is your extention cord? I would use one as short as possible. Also it nees to be a at least a 10 gauge recommended for 20 amps. Ck with your local lowes shop. Let me know please how it goes.

Not so if your connected to the house your ok. Make sure your using a fat ext cord 15 amp.

@@StarboardBow The tech at the place I bought my camper told me I could ruin my AC unit if I connect it to the house 15amp. I will need to go get this dog bone and do this. It is like 200 degrees in the camper and no one can deal with that! I have to clean it up for out first trip.

Any time you're running a lot of amps, the resistance of the cord itself starts to have a huge effect on how much power you can use at the end. For instance, you can run Christmas lights off off a 100 ft cord without thinking about it, but if you've got a 120v stick welder, your going to plug that directly in or run a very short, very heavy extension cord (measured in gauge, which is counter intuitive as the thickness, and amount of amps it can carry goes up as the gauge goes down).

I AM NOT A ELECTRICIAN. However, to do so, most RVs will require at least a 30/50 amp and a 15/20 amp electrical outlet. I AM NOT A ELECTRICIAN.

Turn off all appliances in the rv then connect the house to the dog bone then the dog bone to the rv. Once your connected to the house your good to go. REMMEMBER I AM NOT A ELECTRICIAN DONT DO AS I DO SO WHAT THE PROF DO.

Yes you can run the generator and engine while plugged into shore power. transfer panel. Running the engine likewise will not be a problem

I was told never to plug into shore power when you have the generator going.

Both good questions. I turn off the inverter so that when I plug the rv to the house using the 15 to 30 adapter I dont blow any fuses or circuits in the house. I'm not a electrician but I read that somewhere.

As for the AC. You'll have enough power when connected to the home elec. Make sure to use at least a 15 amp extention cord thick ones.
