I have two beamswork lights and I do like them. My 18" green element ego wasn't able to grow high light plants tho. Anxious to see how this one does for u.
Hmm! I love the price, $49.00 Bucks. Wow! I bought the Finnex Ray2 for my 20 gallon long, "River Bank", and I am happy with it but I did not see this fixture. I am a subscriber to your channel so I will follow the development of this tank closely. Good Review.
Yo this is the best review of this product Ive seen so far, even better than the amazon comments I hate to read to find what I look for. My aquarium is 80cm - 31.49 Inches long so I was wondering if the brackets for the 30" BeamsWork Pent will do just fine or did I mess up buying those. Also I am concerned it might be a lot of stress for the red cherry shrimps and otocinclus in my aquarium. Do you have any experience with those fish when it comes to illumination? Thanks for the great video I left a like
I inject Co2 from a paintball tank at around 3bps. No ferts, ive never dosed anything on this tank. Not really sure what my water parameters are, I havent checked them in like 8 months. I clean my eheim canister filter about once a month, do top offs throughout the week and do a 5 gallon water change every couple weeks. easy peasy
Congrats on the Beamswork Sean! I've had one of these and it worked surprisingly well, there are some new ones now with some 0.5w led diodes and 6500kelvins, those are 10.000k am I right? See what Mach said about the co2? Think the light as a speed pedal, and ferts and co2 as fuel, more light means more food. However, ide use a 8 hour fotoperiod at this time and start turning it down about 30min in 2 weeks, and again in 2 weeks and leave it at 7hours and watch closely for hair algae on top of those rocks. Better plants grow slowly and surely than have an algae outbreak. I shall add you to follow your project and help out in anyway that I can ;-) Oh, another thing, if you thinks it's too much light, you can use a frost vinyl on the protective acrylic cover of the fixture, this way the light diffuses without the need of raising it, but this is only for extreme cases where the light is too much, I don't think you'll have that problem. When's the flooding of this tank?
Hello Pedro, firstly thank you for subscribing! As i mentioned in the video this fixture produces 6500k. I have the Co2 covered for this tank, just got my glass diffuser in the mail, expect an unboxing shortly. I have a 20lb Co2 tank to pair up with that diffuser. thats an outstanding idea with the frosted bit to cover the light, i am concerned this light is going to produce too much light and was worried that ill have to raise it. i dont like raised lights cause you get too much light bleeding into the room. This 20L isnt my first rodeo, i like to think i have a pretty good idea what im doing, but feedback is always welcome! this tank will probably get flooded wednesday night or thursday morning! stay tuned for updates! thanks again!
Pedro Madeira no no no not at all. your message was well received with no offense taken! again, thank you for watching and i look forward to future input!
I im thinking of getting this light in the 36 inch version. Im looking to grow some high light plants and would like to know if the hi lumen not double hi lumen would work just as well? Thank u
I hear good things about the fixtures. Get that CO2 pumping...you could start with the light on low, or run it high with a VERY short photoperiod. I'll be interested to see this progress.
Sorry to bother you again but u say the fixture is 0.2w each led and it has 120 LEDs. The link you posted states the fixture is 0.5w each led and has 110 LEDs. So I'm just confused. I'm really debating between this Beamswork, Finnex Planted +, and Finnex Ray2. I will be running pressurized co2 and will be growing dwarf hairgrass and downoi.
Hi, i'm thinking of buying this pent led, can you tell me the total wattage output when on full on mode? is it 160*0.2W= 32W total output when in full on mode? Thanks
Could u possible post a link to the exact model? I've been searching for a good light for a high tech 20 long set up. This light seems good enough, thanks!
