Im a big fan of Pujols will love to see him reach 700HR’s. So 44HR’s in the next two seasons is very doable. If father time allows him to stay healthy he will do it.
His been one my favorite players since he broke out with the Cards till now. Ive had the privilege to see him play my home team Astros in the NL and AL his whole career. Also loved when he destroyed the Rangers in the 11’ WS . Vamos a 700!!
I've watched Albert's hack hundreds and hundreds of times over the years. Never really put two and two together but he really does have one of the best knob to ball swings in the game today.
If anyone is searching the comments on how to be a great hitter, this is the video. Hands and letting the pitcher do the work is an awesome example of a great hitter. Albert Pujols is one of the best.
Man, one of the greatest all time teaching you how he does his stuff, great info there. To young kids, this is the stuff you want to pay attention to. Not always follow the exact words, but this stuff is golden for young developing players. Not to mention that he has to reach 700, Go Pujols!
I love Albert Pujols and anyone for that matter who takes the time to breakdown what they do- especially from hall of fame players. But to be quite honest- what Pujols talks about isn’t what he actually does in the game. What he explains and what he actually does are two completely different things. He’s talking about his FEELS not the actual movement he does in the actual GAME. It’s important that many youngsters-coaches- and anyone who tries to absorb this information and then try to teach it- almost like a WELL ALBERT PUJOLS DOES THIS SO ITS GOTTA WORK. Wrong. These are routines- mindsets- approaches- nuisances- details- and variations alllll developed over a very long amazing career by HIM. Freakin Corey Dickerson is over here talking about his angles and feeling specific motor movements and all this hoopla. Like I said! Take it with a grain of salt and develop your own routine that works for YOU!
Danny Dee exactly couldn’t of said it better myself .. Feel VS Real .. Pujos is probably one of the best hitter of my time. I can bet anyone that he wouldn’t have the success he had had swinging like that ( down and pushy) in a real game.
Great tutorial from a legend that was one of our big rivals in Milwauke. Side note, it looks like Al is a little shorter than his billed height of 6'3".
Dang, Albert put a lot of work in and dropped a lot of weight. Props to him, it shows that he wants to not only just play, but do really well in his age-40 season
Hope he gets to get to at least A-Rods HR record. I’m a Rangers fan but when he passed Willie Mays with 661 HRs, I was happy for even though he overtook Texas in the lead with that HR. If he stays in for just a few more seasons, he can reach Babe Ruth I think. Most likely he’ll make it as high as 700 but that’s still fantastic.
@@jonnyblayze5149 I can live with that. It’s a shame Barry is constantly thrown under the buss by the media, especially as they hype the Judge thing. MLB encouraged players to use PEDs because at the time MLB players looked like high school kids compared to NFL and NCAA football players. PEDs were condoned for the league to survive. You’re correct. Barry was on another level entirely. Shame people are so easily swayed by the media. Hell ESPN actually has Jeter ranked higher then Pujols. Madness.
When he explains what he does in ‘talk motion’ it doesn’t look like what he is doing in ‘active motion’. In talk motion he extends his hands knob first then snaps the bat around. Sooo, kids and older players wanna do what an elite hitter does and statys tweaking their swing to match his..... only problem is in ‘active motion’ he does something completely different..... rotating his shoulders knob first without extending his arms then torques the handle thru contact.
If Pujols stays healthy and productive, he could be at the very top of the all-time RBIs in MLB list! I doubt he'll get to #1 all-time home runs, but "RBI King" is possible!
First ballot Hall of Famer right there. #6 all time hr and still playing should pass Mays and A Rod, #4 all time RBI's, #14 all time hits. And he got cut off by 1/2 of star Harold.
Right before getting cut he started incorporating a leg kick... he’s never done that before in his career. Being a guy who’s played in the minor leagues for a few years most guys go to the leg kick when either they’re slumping and teammate who’s producing has a leg kick or the hitter feels he’s lacking power in his normal swing. Hitting is like dating a flat out mind game.
Still miss this guy... Or machine? Of course if he's a machine, he's like a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. Still sexy to look at on the highway, but without constant repair, you got about 4,000 miles left.
@@Gabriel-uu9tv They say to hit down on the ball, which is total nonsense. I realize it's a cue that may work because that's how it feels, but one should never swing down on the ball. The backspin/carry myth is exactly that. It's old school and we all know old school dies hard in baseball.
Sean Ryan your swing will naturally be different in-game, cause at that point you’re reacting to a particular pitch and where it’s thrown, your hands are one of your most important parts of your swing and making sure you know where your hands need to be for a particular pitch is crucial to success, what you do in practice will always be an over exaggeration to try and get your mechanics to where it’s as fluid and easy as possible, a perfect swing type is a very slight uppercut
He's definitely a HOF. But I would have retired already. He's not a good player anymore and he's hamstrung the Angels with an albatross of a contract. I couldn't keep getting paid like that with his performance. My opinion.
Why do hitters teach things that they never do during a game? Swinging down on the ball? Knob to the ball? Push from your back leg? You got to be joking...
I don't remember him saying "hit down on the ball" but he stays down and let the bat travel to the ball. And the knob will point to the ball at some point during the swing because the bt at has to lay down so no issues there. And there's weight transfer from to front Ina centrifical manner so are driving forward no joke!
REPENT and be BORN AGAIN believing on Messiah Lord Jesus, nothing more important, today is the day of salvation and Jesus can show you the truth, its not blind faith you can see it for yourself if you truly seek like promised.
