Hey Vosk, research capillary wicking…regarding the power and network cables…maybe source of small “leak”. Starts slow, but then will start to fill up your power dist units and LAN switches.

What did you do to fix? Do you add "drip loops". Like on cable TV Install to keep water from flowing down line into entry point at home. Plus they are nice in case of needed repair you have something extra to work with.

I would have all popwer and network kit mounted on the wall so all the cables go straight up and stop the wicking. Also I would look into running the hot connection to the house so you can use the heat and reduce your bills, even if your just preheating the air/water

Mr. Tails, just a few suggestions, if you don't mind. Maybe put a wall/ring of chicken wire around that condenser thing, to keep the leaves away. It would relieve much of the burden of having to run your leaf blower more often; as well as it being in the back of your tail that you need to check it again, and again. Fix that leak! Don't just keep topping it off! Like one of your high performance cars, you wouldn't just let a leak persist, and keep topping off the oil. It will only get worse! You wouldn't want to walk in one morning, and the oil is EVERYWHERE. If that happens, you're gonna need TRUCKLOADS of rice to put them in. hahaha Thankfully, it looks like it's on a standard pallet, so maybe you can just rent a fork lift or, carry-all, and jack it up. Of course have a human do it, cuz I don't think you can reach the controls, and you don't have opposable thumbs. Move it a couple feet back, so you can service it properly this time, and anytime in the future. Don't sit on maintenance that NEEDS to be done. Lastly, are you going to plant any crops with all that land? How many bones have you buried there?
@missvosk
@missvosk Год назад
Thanks for the comment! The chicken wire is a good idea. We will continue to monitor the leak. Someone commented saying it might be dielectric fluid running down the ethernet cables and I think that might be it, but we will continue to monitor! Right now we rent the land to a farmer to farm :) He farms corn, soybeans, and wheat.

Guys as you can see in the video there are no fans, you install fan emulators which tricks the miner so it can be run without them.

curious why you are running the miners with less TH and less wattage? Why not crank the TH all the way up since the emersion fluid is supposed to better protect the machines from overheating? does this mean the system isn't able to keep up with the heat?
@tomaszbuk9519
@tomaszbuk9519 11 месяцев назад
sometimes it's better to underclock miners, for a better efficiency of TH/Watt same, if you're running them with solar panels or batteries at night or if it's connected with a heat reuse system, and it's not able to reject more heat, you can just run miners with low power mode

@lasersurplus
@lasersurplus Год назад
as a electrical engineer 25 years I can assure you whom ever is recommending a transformer is utterly clueless.😆the manufacturer actually says this nonsense also? There is absolutely no reason to add losses (and additional cost) in the system by using a transformer to convert 240 to 120v when you have it readily available few feet away in your panel. The only reason you would ever need a transformer would be for example in European power systems that are straight 240v (they are without a split system 240/120 like the US) where you cannot tap 120v phase to neutral. The line frequency is not changed in any way by a transformer unless you are using a inverter or online ups specifically designed for this purpose.(those are really expensive in comparison) and have even higher losses.. To connect this unit properly simply look at the data plate on the pump, and the outdoor unit, or check the specs in the manuals, they should be 60hz motors I assume. simply run a appropriately sized 120v feed directly from your panel to the unit. you will find up to (depending on the size/specs of transformer you were using) a reduction in power consumption of up to 20% by eliminating the unnecessary transformer.. Myself I don't see any reason why anyone would purchase a small immersion unit? its is not going to gain you enough efficiency with just 8 miners to compensate for the constant headaches, oily mess, added maintenance, and system down time you will have if any of the components fail. (motors, heat ex-changers, leaking fittings, lost coolant, etc) let alone the miners downtime you will have while waiting for these (undoubtedly expensive parts) to arrive and install. Once you have your miners lubed up is not like you are going to easily throw the fans back on and run them on air cooling again while you wait for the parts to arrive.😅 Just my opinion.. I would be interested in seeing the power consumption with and without the transformer if you do end up trying it! I'm guessing the total losses using this system even without the transformer are many times any gained efficiency over straight air cooling. but its still pretty cool addition to your shed!

This is just mad, I know your sponsored and all and it is cool tech to watch videos on - but you'd have to be clinically insane to actually buy one, increasing your miner cost by 50% and then increasing your electricity usage by 20% and then making it really difficult and messy to do anything at all with the miners and giving all 5 of your miners a single point of failure and risking frying them (I bet if your radiator dies/trips in the middle of worknight your miners will keep mining until they boil). And on top of all that your reducing the value of your miner by 90% as like who wants a used miner covered in slime? I expect Vosk will hide this comment but hey ho.

Well for one, it takes forever to do anything with our electric company. They originally required permits to run electric on our property even though our zoning didn't require us to. So that took months. The delay also has to do with how long they have to run it. It will be 1-2 miles to run it (I think including under one road), and they are trying to justify the cost and see if we are really going to use it enough. @@DikkeKoelie I think, you're mixing a few things 1. Single-phase cooling with dual-phase cooling systems. DCX systems are using single-phase fluids, and they cost ~8k$. Dual-phase systems of that cooling capacity would cost you ~50k$ 2. One ASIC miner with hundreds of chips generates 3-4kW of the heat load. One server has 2 much bigger CPUs installed that generate 300-500W. That's why they can work without the heat sink in a dual-phase fluid. 3. I'd like to see the link with the reference to the data center picture or video, that is stacking "naked" boards 4. Last time I saw working solution with "naked" hasboards in the dual-phase liquid was at S9 times. In the laboratory, and not at mining farm.
