I love the fact that you say you would like to see 1000 PEOPLE with single miners compared to 5 company controlling 100000 miners. I think this is how BTC should be. Or maybe every cell phone in the world have this capability to truely decentralized BTC. Thanks for the analysis I think I will switch to buying the C6, If only you could deploy two miners at a time !!!!
Warning Vosk, I talked to a company about this and they said 2 years in immersion is good, meaning that something bad happens. Because you are public, the force or Extraterrestrial gift will not be given. Companies that don't go public can have this UFO or Divinity gift and years later they sell the machines. Notice how the rubber gloves stick, imagine the wires turning in a maybe semiconductor or just short-circuit. Just halving could be the best swap time for air. Show us how to clean them, is it with 100% alcohol? There is a bunch of plastics in the PSU that can go bad also, maybe leave a few machines for a longer time just to see. Public immersion was over 10 years ago and it was a PC in mineral oil. The product evolve. Good Luck !!
Depending on fluid and wire insulating material, what could happen is the wires become stiff, no more flexing them. Also the fluid tends to take away the thermal paste, so you could simply take the miners out and re-apply. I know some people replace it altogether with the tape type which seems to last much longer. The other thing is the liquid getting dirty, then you would need to pass it over a filter to clean it. Hopefully the tanks would remain closed most of the time reducing the exposure to dust. Well you could also program renovating the miners with more efficient units in about 2~3 years down the line.
Another great video Vosk. I'd be interested to see that app on your phone showing the decibels maxing out in the Digital Shovel air cooled box across the way as a comparison. I think that'd be over 100 decibels at a guess.
Oh no! You're overfilled bud. Oil is supposed to drip down into the center channel and have the hot oil expressly pumped out! Also the fan noise, if you take the front plate off you can slightly adjust the angle and pressure of the hot pump piping. It's a flex tube. Can also tightly wrap some gorilla tape around it to help with that high pitched vibration noise.
Hi,soo cool :) I would really like to know what the best cooler for an S21 Hyd is, I was thinking to buy a fan and alu cooler and a pump but I cant find anywhere what flow the water need to go through the miner in for it to dispatch enough heat, I guess it will need to remove atleast 5000W of power.
How much do you realistically make a year mining? My understanding that mining BTC wasn't worth it and that BCH was probably slightly better. Do you have some actual statistics?
Wonderful and beautiful work. How much does this project cost? Does the mining field make a profit, approximately how much per month? Many thanks and appreciation to you
I would like to know the power consumption of both DCX and Fog Hashing, with the miners OFF. Just the power draw of the running immersion system itself.
With DCX they recommend that you use a transformer and like Vosk showed everyone the draw at the wall for the transformer is around 2500 W. I have two of them and two tanks with eight ASICs in each tank and the transformers are pulling about 5200 W combined. However, after long discussion with DCX, they told me it’s OK not to use the transformer and that they have a lot of customers that don’t. So I took out the transformers and plugged a PDU directly into a meter box and plugged the tank and the DCX dry cooler into US power and the draw at the wall is now 1200 W per tank and dry cooler. DCX recommends that the transformer be twice the capacity of the draw and the transformer they recommend is the 3000 W unit and when I used that one it was drawing 2500 W so I purchased the 5000 W transformer which was then drawing 2500 W, which was half the capacity of the transformer. So the bottom line is if you use the recommended transformer, it is not the DCX equipment that is drawing 2500 W for one tank and one dry cooler, it is the transformer that is drawing the extra 1300 W. I don’t know for certain that DCX pumps will last as long without the transformer but for the time being, they are working just fine on regular US power. I don’t know what the fog hashing is, but I’m sure that Vosk can tell us. One thing of note is when you purchase larger equipment from DCX they build it using US pumps and fans meaning that you don’t need to use a transformer. I recently ordered a 2 MW dry cooler from them to support a larger installation and that unit while requiring three phase power, is going to be built using US fans and US pumps so there is no need for any kind of transformer. I think if you speak with them and have a smaller dry cooler and tank set up built custom, you can ask them to use US equipment instead of European equipment.
@@grasslandsmining5980 Thanks, in the intervening timeframe I have already ordered the Fog Hashing C6. My plan is to eval this unit for possible deployment of one of their container solutions later this year. Appreciate the input regarding the transformer. As transformers typically don't have this kind of losses, iim making the assumption that it is more than just a transformer, probably a frequency converter going from 60hz down to 50hz. Then the power consumption would make sense. I do prefer the dual loop setup, not only for reduced coolant but also for the options for cooling water externally using geothermal methods. This would be prohibitive using coolant fluid due to the volume requirements of a geothermal approach.
Yes they can, but you will want them running and mining. Depending on the firmware you use, sometimes the fluid can actually be so cooled, your miners would struggle. Braiins recently released a new update that helps start cold miners. We have one running in frigid PA in sub 10 degrees at times.
I think you used too much liquid. In the tank, the middle the liquid height is supposed to be a little lower so the level where the miners are is at about the same height as the middle walls so it barely slips down to the middle where the liquid should be at a lower level.
man the music is abnoxiously loud, please have that mind. I am forced to constanly lower the volume when the music kicks in then increase it when you are talking. You are a seasoned youtuber you should know better.
what kind of fluid is used for this type of thing bro i would of thought everything wolud be shorting out and stuff lol ?? show how much i know but i want to learn as im getting into crypto mining
funny u mentioned that ud like to see alot of ppl with 1 miner lol as i just built a crypto mining rig with one gpu that im mining on and one i5 10400k processor that im cpu mining on not getting much atm my gpu is a gigabyte gtx 1070 8gb that im mining Ethereum on with a 30.75 mh on and the cpu is getting 3.694 kh on mining with all 6 cores i plan on adding 5 more gpus on it in the near future tho
If you listen to them talk he says he's not going to set up the water curtain until the spring. Because my only assumption would be of the winter freezing and he doesn't have to worry about that until spring time whenever it gets warm
@VoskCoin, im attempting to order the C6, but having some language difficulties. I intend to run AltCoin rigs, and was trying to find out what the maximum size of the miner which would fit in the rig. They provided the tank dimensions, but I wanted to check on the height to see what the maximum miner height is which will fit. Im pretty sure an E9 Pro won't fit, but not sure about others such as the IceRiver, KA3, L7/L9, D9 and similar. If you have any thoughts on this please let me know. They also couldn't tell me what the PDU was needed for, or if I could just use Altair PDU instead. I asked about shipping, but they didn't understand my question. Do you know if shipping is included or is that extra? The 55 gallon barrel is probably very expensive to ship, wondering about alternatives such as Engineered fluids etc...
@@Graham94 I have the D9 hosted at Terra and my KA3's are hosted at Revolution Mining. Right now the plan is to put the KS series miners and a pair of S21's into the tank. Are you wondering about the depth? I can measure that on Friday if needed. Im currently out of state looking at possible facilities for a new hosting site.
@@Graham94 The D9, 2x S21's and 2x L7's are hosted with Terra. Great experience, no issues, great support. The 2x KA3's are hosted with Revolution. The only issue I currently have is that the uptime is significantly lower than the advertised 95% and they are saying it's due to ERCOT/Curtailments. They have told me it will average out to 95% uptime, but starting well below that number. Will have to see if it works out. Either way, all the hosting contracts are for 1 year.
Having difficulty getting in trust with the right group to order immersion cooling fluid. They don’t list a phone number. They only list a contact form to reach them online. I have filled it out twice but they don’t seem to respond. Do you have a phone number?
