Rounded corners I love your improve quilt. Amazing balance of shapes, colors and negative space. Your videos are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your quilt journey with the quilting world.👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much! 😊You're so kind! It felt like I was putting together a puzzle without any clues while I was trying to figure out the layout! But I think everything worked out well in the end.
Looks great!! I like the circle or rounded corners, very modern options. Before machine quilting or binding I always clean out my machine, and new needle. I just do not want problems. Batting will always create extra fluff build up as you progress too.
My problem is that I forget until there's a problem. And if I set a reminder in my calendar it's too easy to ignore. I like your method. Instead of cleaning on a schedule it becomes part of your quilting prep! I NEED to make a circle mini quilt... but I don't think it's going to happen this time around. 🥲
Beautiful! Re: the finished shape of this quilt, personally I prefer the first option you showed (rectangle), however, I think the "perfect" circle would also be great if you surrounded it with a border utilizing a solid (whole/unbroken) piece of the lightest fabric (so that you have a square or rectangle of light fabric with the dark binding and the improv portion in the center like a large reverse appliqué with a set-in seam. Bill Kerr of Modern Quilt Studio has a couple of really good YT videos demoing insetting circles in case you're interested in investigating this technique). I think since this is a wall hanging it would make your artwork look like it's not only "framed" by the binding, but professionally matted as well. Regardless of how you finish it, it'll be fabulous!
Oh! I like how you think. Thinking of the extra negative space like a mat and the binding as the frame. Love it! I'm tucking that idea away for a future mini quilt! I've never done a set inset circle before. That's going on the to do list also!
Yes you have fans for sure! You create great content. I wouldn’t be surprised if you had 10,000 subscribers within a few years. Thanks for all the lessons❤️
Thanks for making this video. I don’t mind not seeing all the process. The blocks turned out great and I love the colors. I enjoy this part where you finish! I like the rectangle or rounded corners but these decisions are best made by you so it turns out the way you want. Thanks again 💕
Hi, regarding finishing the quilt, option 1 is my favorite, but option 4 with rounded corners looks good too. Your blocks, colors and placement look good!👍🏼
I like the rounded corners or rectangle. If you use a circular shape you will cut off some of your blocks that took time to arrange and square up. Beautiful job!
That's a good point. I want to make a circular mini quilt in the future, but I think I should have that in mind as I'm piecing so I don't waste time, effort, or fabric. 👍 Thank you! 😊
Very pretty! At first I liked the rectangle best, until you showed the rounded corners. I like how the rounded corners softens the look of the quilt. Nice job!
