To sum up; Brian doesn't give a shit if a fantasy character 'changes race' but if you're doing a biopic then they should be as accurate as possible to the real deal.
I do get annoyed when a fantasy gets race/gender swapped, but I get more mad when it’s an historical figure. It’s so disrespectful to race/gender swap historical figures.
@@wizardgaming6759 like how in the rings of power they had a black elf? Im not a Tolkien fan (didnt get into books) but isnt it blatant that they have a specific appearance?
@@wizardgaming6759 I agree, it feels very pandering like you’ve changed the race/gender as an afterthought to be “inclusive” but the character ends up being very two dimensional with no real personality, just “hey this character is female/of colour”, instead of writing characters who are black properly. Think of the TV show Luke Cage, or Marvel’s Black Panther, they were mostly black characters who weren’t black for the sake of it, their race was incredibly important to the storyline, they weren’t just the “black sidekick”, they had well thought out characters. For biopics I’d prefer they are as historically accurate as possible. I’m a history nerd (specifically Neolithic, Pictish and Gaelic history in Scotland, I myself being Gaelic) and seeing biopics intentionally changing characters to “be inclusive” and disregarding the true history is just really strange, because it should be as accurate as possible. It’s just disrespectful to change the persons race/gender. Like on Twitter (because of course) folk try and claim “stonewall riots were started by a black trans woman”, when they were actually started by a black lesbian called Storme, and the person they try and claim started the riots was actually just a homosexual male who was a drag Queen, he wasn’t even there when the riots started! The guy went by his stage name of Marsha, he only appeared around 2pm as per his own words in documentaries after Stonewall, but Twitter is extremely disrespectful that they’re trying to erase a black lesbian and replace her with a “black trans woman”, who wasn’t even a trans woman. It’s very weird seeing people try and rewrite history to fit their narrative and completely ignore all the evidence that exists out there, never understood it. Surely you’d want a biopic to as historically accurate as possible so folk learn the real story, real struggles, and remember the true heroes?
@@wizardgaming6759 not just historical figures, but anyone. Unless its a fictional character, where it doesn't *really* matter because its like creating a spinoff or alternate take on xyz, but when you do it about real people its incredibly disrespectful, as someone's ethnicity can be incredibly important to them, and has been and will likely always been a significant factor in their lives.
I really love you two talking about men being vulnerable, sometimes needing a hug, sometimes needing to be emotional, and sometimes needing to accept life for what it is. Really positive approach and I genuinely love you two for this as men massively struggle to speak out due to societal judgment, that mental blockade that makes it hard to speak, and how difficult it is to ask for help. Make sure your homies are doing okay, they might need a hug, they might wanna game for a while and not talk about what’s going inside their head and just want non-judgmental company, maybe they wanna scream at the world, just be there for your homies. BTW if you’re needing help, in my country (Scotland) they have Men’s Sheds, it’s basically a male only group you can go to, you can learn woodwork, go hiking, learn new skills and socialise with other men, whilst being able to talk about whatever’s going on in your mind without the societal pressures of being judged. They’ve some near me and they’re very popular, they give local men somewhere to feel safe to talk about what’s going on mentally without being judged, you can make friends and learn some cool skills like building garden furniture.
@@superjayman6 I looked online and there’s the Men’s Shed Association in the USA, so if you search that online you’ll immediately find their site. There’s a map with locations, most of them appear to be in the NE areas. Hope this helps! They do offer support to help create a local Men’s Shed if there isn’t one in your area, I firmly believe men should have a safe space where they can talk to each other about mental health, so if there isn’t one in your area it might be worth reaching out to MSA and seeing what help they offer!
Whilst mental health is important to maintain, we can’t allow this American mentality to come into our culture. This idea of safe space men etc.. no. If you’re a weak man, fine, but don’t expect others to bend over backwards to please you. Life is tough, everyone deserves a chance and compassion, but I have no sympathy for these cowards from the US tbh. If you’re not ready for life that’s fine, but it’s not our problem you refuse to grew up and deal with life.
@@gafhs1235 dang, now I wanna see Cinderella starring Shaq too now. Instead of the slipper, the prince makes every woman play ball so he could identify his true love Shaqrella.
24:45 The lads explaining exactly how I was raised. Brian hit it on the head with that quote from his dad. Yeah we've gotta be tough as men, for certain. But make sure you talk to family and friends about how you feel. Ain't nothing gonna get you out of a hole if you don't have support in the endeavor. Elsewhise you'll be stuck in that hole by yourself. Unless you're some movie version Arnie. But that still puts you in a bad spot, cause ain't no one sane and solid doing it without someone else to reassure them. You need a second opinion.
Not me then looking at the next clip and feeling all that come down hard. There are good and bad people in the world. There also those who live in the limbo between. Give them love. Remind them they matter. Recognize and connect as best you can. We're not all therapists. But sometimes all it takes is some affection for your fellow. Be good to one another.
Brians story about his dad dying reminded me of my grandpas death The night prior my dad came to me and told me that my Grandpa had been starting to get worse in his hospital (he had been in elderly homes and hospitals for a few years now) and told me he may go by the end of the week. I bawled my eyes out crying and said that i wanna visit him more before then and that i wanted to go the next day or as soon as possible Later on the next day. I was playing games with some friends online waiting for my dad to get home. When he got home he called everyone in to the kitchen. I told my friends that i’d be back. He gathered us around and told us that my Grandpa had passed away. I didn’t know how to handle that. I was sad. I was shocked. But i had already realized his condition last night. After we hugged i just went back to my room. Sniffled to myself. Put my headset back on and just said “i’m back” and didn’t say what happened. I just kept playing.
I have a few key points to say: 0:11 - 0:18 - Ohm talking s**t about Wildcat vs Ohm once Wildcat joins the call. 16:44 - 16:51 - Terroriser when he saw Leon standing there doing nothing during a GMOD Scary Map(Watch "This Non-Scary map is gonna be the end of my career..." for Terroriser's perspective. Also, watch "The RETURN of ZOIDBERG and Gmod Scary Maps!" for Nogla's) 17:20 - 18:10 - Nogla, you would've known had you not left during "??? and Terroriser REACT to 38 minutes of 🤣 MEMES!"(I know he left because of his kid). Also, I'm pretty sure he might've forgot, but I like to imagine that this implies that Nogla doesn't rewatch his own videos.
20:21 in 9th grade, my metal works teacher showed us what happened to a chick that didn't take off her bracelet, and long story short, she got stretched through 20 meters of steal bending machinery
Brian's first weed experience is nothing like mine. I started back in the late 2000's when all we had on the east coast was the "Mexican brick weed" so it wasn't as potent as the weed of today. Glad he had a good experience though.
Man, Brian's dogs escaping into the blizzard and then returning would almost make me believe in some greater fate too. But then I remember that someone unlatched the door in the first place, and realize that fate is shit.
If it's a fictional character, who cares who plays them. If it's a historical figure, they shouldn't have someone play as them if they can't pull it off as historically accurate. There's a fine line between having Lou Diamond Phillips play Ritchie Valens, and something as ridiculous as Jack Nicholson playing Frederick Douglass.
Pretty much. What Brian had been saying about the Little Mermaid thing reminded me of how certain “fans” had an absolute meltdown over Sophia Nomvete playing a dwarf in The Rings of Power
IMO, fictional characters should only be interpreted by actors of the ethnicity and culture of its origin (or closest next thing) make of that what you will
As someone who lives in that city, down the road from the "park" you visited that had those bumper boats, I regrettably must inform you that the buissiness is no longer there, and they have demolished the entire "park". It was memories for my self and others and I'm glad you where able to spray nogla in the before times
20:10 I've actually seen probably dozens of videos of people getting snagged in lathes. There was this particular one I remember in Russia where the guys jacket got caught around chest level, so every time he went around his legs slammed into the cement floor HARD. He was spinning so fast that eventually the cement floor was acting like sandpaper, slowly grinding away his legs through his clothes leaving a huge blood smear and spray across the workshop, until he finally came free and was sent flying, obviously dead, and missing a few pieces. Happens pretty frequently actually, most industrial accident videos I've seen are from China, India, and Russia, for some reason all their industrial plants seem to have very lax rules and safety precautions. One guy in china got squished in a machine, and two guys coming to help tried squeezing through a still operational metal press, and got crushed to death due to their carelessness.
i saw one video where guy gets caught into cnc mil and is torn to pieces.. there was nothing left from the guy once they stopped the machine.. also saw one video from india where guy gets cut in half after getting caught in farming equipment..
I train guys at my work on cnc mills and lathes and those are the videos I show them so that they are terrified to get near any rotating parts, dont feel like getting misted with blood from a buddy! 😂
Have my final Trigonometry Exam tomorrow and this video just helped with a lot of anxiety, thank you two for always making me and all of us in this community laugh
14:41 I did casual Genshin cosplays with my friends and we basically wore modern stuff with goofy T-Shirts, and I was doing Sucrose with a T-shirt doing just that. Periodic table of elements spelling out autistic
Lmao right? If god really did exist he gave us everything that grows and lives to use. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
20:15 i’m learning to be a CNC machinist, and I’ve seen videos of this happening, and it is absolutely traumatizing let me just say body parts flying everywhere
20:26 There's actually a video online where a man gets stuck in the machine, and then has his innards spun up into the rafters. It's awful, do not look for it.
I will never forget when I was working at Sonic and a homeless dude approached asking for food I used my account to get him something and he offered me a dirty rusty nickel and I told him to keep it and he immediately asked "can I have a hug?" I gave it to him it felt like he needed it and he walked away with his burger. I always wonder where he went and if he's okay.
I appreciate these hard to watch videos of depression. Thank you Brian and Nogla for making me stronger and an overall happier person. I started picking up faith too recently Brian with Catholicism. I used to be pretty agnostic, but if you ever arrive there or in devotion to any sort of faith to any religion, that it might reveal how not too far-fetched it is. Unfortunately we as humans cannot prove or disprove the existence of supernatural forces, but it all starts in faith and devotion. I'm happy you and Nogla can be real and again thank you for feeling comfortable to share your real memories and experiences. I hope this message is read in time of good health and prosperity. Bless y'all.
5:39 I mean, Netflix is actually getting sued for doing this. Apparently they’re doing a sort of “documentary” about Cleopatra, and the actress for her is black. Now, it would have been fine, however they are SAYING that Cleopatra WAS black, when that is not historically accurate in the slightest. Because of this, an Egypt lawyer is suing Netflix for this. Not because the actress is black, but because the writers for the Netflix Cleopatra “documentary” are saying that she was black. If I remember right, she actually very well could have been white due to being Macedonia Greek decent, but she also had Persian and Sogdian Iranian ancestry as well. Sorry for going off on a nerd spree! Really enjoy the videos! :)
Honestly, I really couldn't care less for fictional stuff like the little mermaid, but for historical documentaries where it's supposed to be historically accurate, I can't just let it go.
Honestly, y'all talking about your life experiences and how you dealt with stuff would be a really cool and interesting thing to see. We all have different ways of dealing with things, always interesting to see people deal with it
20:17 The way Nogla laugh Brine: that actually happen Nogla: wait what? Brine: explaining Nogla: yey Gmod (continues laughing and singing) Brine: still explaining it actually happened I can't HAHAHAHAHA
26:05 Brian's Got It, That Feeling Is So Sombre When You Get That Hug. Either Side It’s Refreshing And Helps, People Need That Feeling More Frequently Before It Turns Ugly
Idk man, the pothole guy is extremely passionate about fixing the community. If he was president he might actually get good shit done. Edit: Saw the 2nd set of clips. Maybe a little too passionate...
