my new fav sports graphic designer. you do a great job explaining and walking thru things. Do you have a list of fonts that you like? maybe a video of your favs I tend to search for fonts that are more full/blocky that I can clip images to and not lose a lot of the image

Can you expand on the idea of the golden ratio/*1.6?
@realdanielcohen
@realdanielcohen 7 месяцев назад
Yes! It’s basically what I use as a starting point for arranging any hierarchy - mostly I use it for sizing player cutouts, and text sizes (title would be one size, subtitle is 1.6x smaller. Big cutout is one size, smaller cutout is 1.6x smaller, smallest cutout could be 1.6x smaller than that). Helps give me a starting point when sizing things when I know I want one thing bigger than another. 1.6 approximately = golden ratio, so for whatever reason that’s the ratio that is pleasing to the eye. However, if it doesn’t look right to me I will change size up or down from that starting point

@@realdanielcohen I was kind of thinking that's where you were headed. I usually eye test it, but really should try to nail that 1.6 ratio. Thanks!

Can we make the same banners in the adobe illustrator as well?
@realdanielcohen

Good question! Generally speaking, illustrator is better used for vector art (things like logos, typography, things that you might need to scale way up or down) and more illustrated/cartoon styles driven by shapes/drawings vs. photos. So for these types of posters, you'll have much more flexibility in photo treatments, blending, lighting, masking, and more if you use Photoshop

Can i know where i can download fonts?

I use Adobe Fonts! DaFont is another one that’s popular, fonts will specify whether they’re for personal or commercial use
