I heard in a Bible study long ago that judas was a zealot and believed that christ would smite them all I don't know that to be true but I do know that had to happen to pay for our sins. Thank you Lord Jesus for laying your life down for us. I know that I am a sinner and would have no other way to pay my debt. Praise God

Someone mentioned this song to me yesterday and said they never heard it. I immediately remembered it from back in the late 40's. So here I am listening to it at 72 years old, and it brings tears to my eyes.

I remember my Mom singing this in church. she loved the Lord and was constantly praising Him in song as well as in her life. I cannot listen to this song without tears in my eyes.

My sweet lil granny sing this for me when I asked her my Lord I still cry at times listening to it my grandson is two years old when I rock him at night he ask to listen to silver what he calls this song makes me cry he tries to sing it raise your kids n grandson let me know who Jesus is love rocking him to this song

Ive Learned that the 30 pieces of silver was only worth 50 dollars in todays money. At that time in history, a slave was worth 50 dollars.

I wasn't really into Hank Whilliam's music until my grandmother introduced me to him and now he's one of my favorite artists. Every time I listen to the song I get cold chills that won't stop until it's over.

James Brizendine if you continue to read the word it was for told of Judas " the son of perdition" to betray Jesus " the son of man" . Judas had no choice for it was predestined for him to betray the Lord. I hope that answered your question. Also the love of money is the root of all evil. God bless you. Keith Muncy

@@Crlpopesadly , there is a difference between feeling sorry even in tears, or being truly repentant.. the difference between the disciples Judas and Peter… Jesus said himself, woe unto that man by whom the SON of man is betrayed… the Word also says, that Satan entered into Satan.
