Amen I agree. I listen to this and think back to when I was a small boy Hank was my dad's favorite. Music is not as good as it use to be. Other than my savior Jesus when I get to Heaven I want to meet Hank and Elvis Presley. Two of the best ever.
I in canada and with my buddies grew up listening to hank and johnny cash. In logging camp lifestyle and a definite inspiration to the heart. Back in time and in present . Timeless.
I've listened to the beatles ,elvis ,the everley brothers to name some great singer song wrighters but I have to say hank William's sr is the greatest of all by far ,
Hank fought a war with his demons his whole life. I hope he won the battle that night in the back of his cadillac. I would like to believe he did. Surrender and believe, confess and believe and truth will be revealed.
Listen poor sinner; you're driftin' away From the Dear Saviour; who's pleading today What will you do; when the Saviour ain't nigh When the Pale Horse and his rider goes by? The time now ain't long; when the Saviour will come Then you'll be judged; by the deeds you have done On that judgement day; you'll weep and you'll cry When the Pale Horse and his rider goes by? When that trumpet sounds; on the sinners below Not even the angels; in heaven will know Then's when you'll wish; you had Jesus nigh When the Pale Horse and his rider goes by? Won't you redeem; your poor wicked soul You can't pay your way; with Silver and Gold If you're not saved; you'll be lost in the night When the Pale Horse and his rider goes by?
When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
There are lots of Lazarus people around who could use a decent meal and why not give my buddy Seargent 247A a place to crash on your couch too. Hank would approve. More importantly Jesus would too.
I've sat in a few church's growing up and they've never held my attention. I hear Hank and the tears stream down my face, my lip quivers and my body shakes. Through Hank I feel the presence of Christ, in a sinner just like you and I! Not some clown behind a pulpit with diamond rings and a Cadillac parked out back.
You must give Hank Williams his proper due. For such a short career, due to his early death, Hank wrote more immortal songs than any song writer who was also a "Rock Star " singer. He electrified crowds. As I peruse lists of Hank's music, I often wonder how could he have written that number of classic songs, still have time to perform, abuse alcohol, drugs & his own body. I'm sure Hank done it that way! I never heard any song by Hank Williams I didn't throughly enjoy. 2 & 3 are talented also.
Hank was my dad's favorite country singer when I was a child he would always be singing Hanks songs, especially the gospel one's, his most favorite was pale horse and his rider goes by,I used to love my dad singing Hanks songs, I knew then that he was happy, thank you Hank for your inspiration to my dad.
He did legal drugs because he lived in pain his whole life and I am sure that's why he drank like he did was to kill the pain that he had his whole life because as he got older the more pain he was in
My Dad use to listen to the radio a lot. He liked Hank Williams and Roy Acuff. (I hope I spelled that right.) There was also Hank Williams Jr. Many of the old singers' music reflected religion cause to many, it was the same. Both of my parents loved "Tennessee Waltz" and requested it be played at their funeral. We did not realize until then that it was their way saying goodbye. Daddy knew most of these songs by heart. Hank Williams had a way of writing the scripture on your heart.
Hank and his mother went to church and every Sunday she played the piano and he sat on the seat beside her and many of his songs is things he learned straight out of the Bible. After listening to these songs I feel like I have been to church!
Mary Howard-----Well , there are reports that his mother was a prostitute . We don`t really know other people . I enjoy the music without telling myself that I have to " like " the performer . A lot of people who sing gospel songs don`t really " live the life" .
I love you brother hank I am going through the biggest trial of my life 58 years old and so greatful to know that my lord is so close and with me know feels so good your words are true he guided your thoughts when you wrote your songs love your brother Dale Putzier
But the reason he's in heaven is because he asked forgiveness of all his sin , and accepted Jesus as his Lord....Long before he was old enough to vote .
My girlfriend couldnt get help from her church because she wasn't a member of the church! But the help was going to her Grandmother who was a member! Churches today have lost thier focus on what really matters!!!
Your GOD is calling everyone that listens to this music just think about it friend your not here by chance Jesus brought you here no one escapes must do acts 2;38
A wonderful man I'm sure for all his woes. Short life & death Magnificent triumph to my my mind over tragedy. It's reflected in his great voice & the love of the country including me
Thank you Sir for serving to help keep the USA a free Country! My Dad fought on Iwo and was there for the first flag when the 5th Division took the Mount. My Grandpa, Brother, Uncle's, Cousins and my Dear Husband fought for our Freedom. They are all gone to be with our Father... We Believe in Our Constitution, but more then that, this Song from Hank Williams gives us all who believe, a chance to forever be FREE, Amen!
Rev_6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Pale actually refers to a greenish color Strong's Concordance G5515 χλωρός chlōros khlo-ros' From the same as G5514; greenish, that is, verdant, dun-colored: - green, pale.
the Pale Horse is also actually a massive destroying angel that brings end to nations through pestilences, strife, discord, curses, phenomenal destruction, and also is a massive killer through phenomenal catastrophes the Pale Horse already did pass all the time: just take notes on historical natural and social catastrophes with horrifying counts of casualties, those and these are the times the Pale Horse always make a passing by
This song was composed by Ervin Stagg and Johnnie Bailes but was initially only credited to Bailes. It was first issued by Curly King and his Tennessee Hilltoppers (Rich-R-Tone 422, 1948). Versions by Roy Acuff and his Smoky Mountain Boys plus Carl Sauceman and his Hillbilly Ramblers soon followed.
