Have a gang of kinfolk from 20 Outlaw ( KenDog, Slim, FredDog ) and talk often with 5-TrayCartoon’s driving partner Clifford ( Blifford ) from Bounty Hunter. Might be able to get you in touch. Funny, when I was in the module back in ‘84 (The homie Sleepy and your homeboy Iil Eddie Boy BEST fight ever in 48) surrounded by C-Notes. Now that I practice Islam I can’t throw a stick without hitting a Damu !
My close friend grandmother house in on 35th between trinity and San Pedro . We used to ride our bikes from the jungles over there in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Riding down mlk once u passed Broadway u could feel/see the change most definitely. I never felt unsafe but the difference was obvious. The amount of graffiti , the types of graffiti . That’s the first time over seen the whole inside of a school struck up w graffiti. Es Clanton & 30 piru were the gangs that were on my friends grandma street. We used to ride up and down San Pedro from Jefferson to king and we would hit bills tacos. I was like between the ages of 10-12. Good times. ❤
I was in Tracy Prison with SLIM from 30s Piru , He was in the same cell with me , til I got rid of his busters behind. Once the war kicked off he ran , without putting in no work . A real COWARD. Real Talk . 1983 & 1984
Damn! Crazy stuff to hear from a B-DOG I hear afew bad things about busta slim & I’m sure we talkin about the same dude big-slim is what they call him now!
Kev Mac is a master storyteller. His voice might not possess the gravitas of a Morgan Freeman or an oratory skill level you’d expect from someone delivering Ted talk presentation. Yet the way he delivers is impeccably unique. His timing is like a great comedian telling a well crafted joke. They say way back in the day that Dean Martin was the King of cool. Being a huge Rat Pack fan, I can say for sure that Sammy, Frank and Dean were pretty damn cool! Kev Mac is the Dean Martin of gangster podcasters. Minus the staying liquored up, chain smoking and singing of course. Humorous, articulate, and completely relatable, it’s at times unfashionable that he too once was literally living the Los Angeles Crip brand of gang banger lifestyle. For an outsider from Brooklyn NY, like myself, the Kev Mac way of storytelling is addictive. No Diddy. Lol
Bills Taco house...only place where they cut hamburger patties in half , wrapped it in a tortilla with beans , rice & cheese...called it a burrito. Give me Ramona's on San Pedro all day
For the rest of America....its a HUGE difference between the "West Side" of LA County and the "East Side" of the county....The "110 Freeway" being the line of "demarcation" ...a HUGE difference even to this day...aint no "Hangin out" or no "Postin up", nigga you got 5 minutes, FIVE, period, and thats all Imma say LOL
Shouts to this guy I like when they sit down and talk to us about the crips and bloods whoa and to learn about the 90s generation how it was in 70s Insane jail stories These are good history lessons for youth to hear Wt graffiti on chuch insane way to see sump like growing up exclusive right there to even hear sump like that
My Grandfather was like your Pops he didn't tolerate long hair, ear rings or tattoo's I'll never forget him beating the breaks off my uncle for getting his ear pierced
Alot of money on that 33st SanPerdo to Central Ave. The 80s where cracking. 33st had the BattleRam come twice. In the 80. Hellva time it was on 33st. East Side Up East Siderz.
Man I hope u never stop making videos rs.. keep them coming.. Their should be more real og's black and brown coming out telling war stories but without getting anybody caught up though.. u know what I mean.. like u doing already..
Webster and Palisades? So since you mentioned the north side of Slauson, does this include 54th Street School too? I went to all 3. @54th-King of the school fights at the gulley. Kevin Hagen (White Cat), Lil Monster, ect went there. @Webster-“Scenic!” “Half A Scenic!” @Palisades-Open campus for lunch! W/S vs E/S. @ Webster (early 70’s) we all wore Ace Duces, Knit Sweaters, Blue Jeans with hangin suspenders and Biscuits. Willie Forbes had 5 Ace Duces and wore a different color one each day. The Cats bussed from the E/S dressed the same but had a different vibe. Real Different! W/S vs E/S. @ Palisades these same E/S Cats kinda stuck out. Press and curls wearing Taylors. Since you know both sides you are one of a handful that knew about 2 Buddah Markets. The one on Slauson and the other on 41st and Avalon!
Your big brother and yourself had bowling balls, waking around the bottoms. I used to work security@the DUNBAR hotel on 42or 43 Central, Avenue when they rebuilt it. Godspeed King #K.M.Videographys#10+
My pops said the same thing about earrings in 1982. He asked me was I wanting to be a girl or was I apart of some African Tribe? 😅 Said if I could prove my tribe, then I could pierce my ear. If not , wait until I was 18. I did just that like many of our peers from that time.
Kev Mac you a FUNNY CAT. I love ya stories homie. You lucky to be alive though. And man...you got to play that THEME SONG dawg. It's HOT. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!
New viewer here. I think you have the best intros on RU-vid hands down. I love that west coast sh!t!(16daLide, up there as well). Funny too here you say you were a Mickey D's guy. I had a great laugh.
2:14 Its actually powerful knowing in the fact that within his volition, he could have started a Crip gang, which could have escalated into something completely beyond his control in the future. Potentially more demise.
Kev Mac on tht EastSide bt it was the opposite in my family when we went to go visit dad it was get it how yu live even at a young age bt moms stayed cooking and parenting
Kev , your dad was right , i too was surprised to see brothers wear braids when i moved to L.A , cause i had lived in several countries in Africa and there only girls wear braids....stay safe brother
Things change in time. African men wore their hair in many different styles including braids in pre colonial times. There are surviving photos showing it.
