30'S AND THE [NY] CITY: reuniting with old frens, work days in nyc & talking about the incident

I was debating if I should post this as two different vlogs or one vlog but since I missed last week's vlog I decided to combine it together. In this new york city ft. ohio vlog, we travel from nyc to ohio for a mini college reunion where we reminisce about the old days, reflect on our immigrant journey, pour our love for each other and have fun. Beside the reunion, we work from home and talk about advocating oneself at workplace (or in general in life). Also, we talk about the incident that happened in the last vlog...which is such a sad reality for women regardless of where we live.Again, thank you for all the love in the last vlog. I truly appreciate it!!!!

I was debating whether to post this as two separate vlogs or one combined video. Since I missed last week’s vlog, I decided to combine them. I hope you enjoy these shared memories! I can really recommend self-defence lesson. It increases your confidence, so you don't ask yourself any more "what do I do if it happens again?" because you are prepared if it happens again. You also get taught to scan your surroundings, which helped me a lot.

Tisha, these friendships will sustain you through your entire life! I have a 50 year friend group and we pick up right where we left off every time we get together. Don't blame yourself or second guess your actions. You responded as most of us would have when caught off guard. What he did was despicable!! I am very sorry this happened to you. Old friendships from high school and college are so special! I'm actually seeing my best high school friends and college roommate in October. We go back so far and share the best parts of our lives together. Keep connecting with your girlfriends; they will always have your back!! Be safe out there. As women, most of us share your story in one way or another. It is really unfortunate that assholes are out there. Hope he had a wreck that night. 😂

Oh I hate that you had to experience that Tisha. Something similar happened to me when I was in college. I was taking the bus home and a guy sat next to me. I didn't think anything of it bc the bus was crowded. All the sudden I felt his hand rubbing my left thigh. I was so startled and confused, but I managed to yell "WTF are you doing!?" He was so shocked I said something he immediately ran off the still open door. I'm glad I had the courage to yell at him. But I wish I had the nerve to sock him in his face! That was very long ago ,but I can still feel his hand on my thigh when I give it thought. I wanted to take my power back so I got physically strong. I took a self defense class. But these days thats not enough. My niece got a gunn pulled on her bc she was ignoring a guy that was trying to come on to her at the gas station. So I plan on getting a concealed permit. I gotta protect my son, my baby dog and I.

I’m so glad you got to spend time with your friends. A wonderful time making memories together that you can add to your “friendship memory collection.” As for that incident, you were victimized but you are not a victim. The distinction may not seem like much but when I had that realization, it strengthened me. I refused & still refuse to be defined as a victim. That & my faith in God saw me through the aftermath of my assault. We are here for you. Just as I pray for my daughters, I pray for you. I hope you have a wonderful week.

This is such a great vlog! I can relate to the full-time work situation and trying to maintain work-life balance. Your trip to see your college/lifelong friends was so cool. I grew up in NYC and you are handling that assault like a boss! It's going to take time to feel better about the area. It's NOT your fault! Do not beat yourself up over it. Another way to look at it is that that creep on the city bike may not be from that area, and just passing through. I've had a situation like this as a teen and I decided to walk on different blocks to get home and at different times to give the impression that I too may not live in that area. You are awesome!

What a fun video with your friends! I'm glad you shared how you were feeling and how that unfortunate experience has affected you! I agree, it's a shame we women have to feel vulnerable like that. Just be aware while you are out. I tell my 28 year old son the same thing, he lives in Chelsea and most of his friends live in Brooklyn, so he's doing a lot of back and forth at all hours of the day and night. I have lived in Ohio, not far from Hiram, my entire life! 😊

You did nothing I wrong with that creep touching you. Things I enjoy. Watching you drinking and dancing with your friends, always standing up in the kitchen to eat and then unusual things you eat. Nepal's long-distance runner Santoshi Shrestha finished the Paris Olympics women's marathon in the 79th position on Sunday. Shrestha took 2 hours 55 minutes and 06 seconds to complete the 42.195km distance.Tisha breaking 3 hours on a hot day is a GREAT TIME. Saw her early and she was hanging back. Smart tactic. You want to wait to mile 20 to pick up the pace. Strong finish and passing those slowing down gives you more energy.

Hi Tisha, you are funny with the trash bags. What would help in the future is buy a beauty bag just for makeup travels. You can have it empty in the Suitcase. It could be a fabric bag or a see thru plastic zippered bag. Whatever you prefer.

When something happens we always think "why I didn't do that" or "what if I did this" , always blaming ourselves somehow. When in reality is not our fault. So, don't beat yourself anymore. It was never your fault ❤ It's disgusting really, when something like this happens and we have to think of ways to protect ourselves... the reality of women nowadays

Ah honey, i am sooo sorry that this happened to you. Please be careful. I know New York can seem sometimes like the rats are the biggest issue but there are a lot or scary people in this world with warped minds. So grateful that nothing more happened. Thank God bc it could have been something that we don't even want to thing about. Be Safe don't be afraid to scream FIRE!!! to protect yourself.

Your girl's trip looked so fun! You enjoyed each others company & ate lots of good food. Hanna's daughter is beautiful ❤ I'm so sorry that incident happened & you are still shaken up about it. Sadly, in lots of countries around the world men openly grope women which is unacceptable. Like you said you froze (fight or flight response) thank god nothing else happened, hopefully karma will catch up with him (& the next girl will bash his teeth in the back of his throat😂). I think you definitely weren't his 1st victim he had a system down. Don't beat yourself up, it happened & now you are more cautious about your surroundings. It wasnt your fault. Just try not to be on your phone as much. Your dinner out with Chelsea looked fun. Love how Jhaape was sunning himself in front of the window in his little doggie bed, so cute😍🤗

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tisha. It’s infuriating that it’s so common and that so many of us can relate to events like this. As you mentioned, you could have not predicted it and your reaction to me was normal. I appreciate you for speaking about it and bringing awareness to the community for something that happens so often to females regardless of setting.
