Attraction, clearance, overloading, ya wtf is this guy thinking. Especially wooden shield, you can't play chess if you don't that one. When I teach kids that's the very first thing I show them. Lazy ass Gotham chess, never puts any effort in these videos. Always leaving stuff out, sheesh.
I mean, the actual term used is Zwischenzug for the point he's getting at in that video, but it doesn't translate very well to people poking around youtube for something to watch.

Thanks for the index, I love this kind of detail. I have a question as a chess noob and I'm asking here to decrease the chance of elitist trolling: During the "Weakness" section, at 7:30 Levy made a valid point but moved a knight like a pawn. Am I missing something? Or am I just being too detail oriented?
@@stephenburke5121 He wasn't focused on the position or where the knight was but rather was focused on the concept of weak squares. But I do see how that could be confusing.
31 terms?! This is outrageous! I clicked on this video under the assumption that there would be 30, but you betrayed my trust and gave me 31! How dare you!
This guy really won me over. Dedication, humility, skill and a touch of charming sarcasm. You inspire me bro. Thank you for your work. You’re a good man. I wish you all the best from the other side of the world.
@@Tommymaq top shelf for sure. His lessons are gold. I feel bad taking them for free. I Hope he’s doing alright financially because he’s done the community a great service.
@@Johnnigelgarcia He has paid courses and also has been giving out money on Twitter like "everytime he eats at McDonald's I'll give $500 to someone". GFuel sponsor too. So he's doing good I think. Chess has come a long way. :')
Bing, Bang, Boom: A sequence of moves that involves trading and taking opponent pieces, sometimes can be played theoretically, but most of the time grants the user psychological advantage.
Levy, why did you clickbait me? There's 31 chess terms, not 30. I used to enjoy your videos but you have been getting too clickbaity recently. I will no longer watch your videos as it is too much for me and you should get banned on RU-vid for clickbaiting. Jk I just want my comment to get pinned but pls still pin it
Thank you! Months ago when I started I wonder why I couldn’t find a good list. Now that I’ve played awhile I know these things but this will help many people
Wow. I just watched the video with basic chess terminology and now i am able TO CRUSH EVERYONE... Honestly , the amount of clickbait that this channel deliver is insane..
Your videos are really instructive and very entertaining to follow. Found you from Samay's stream and subscribed still now....best entertaining chess videos.....after Samay...:)
Love general videos that aren't game heavy. Some ideas to talk about chess culture: 1) Talk about what the pro circuit looks like and major tournaments take place throughout the year 2) Talk about chess culture in different countries. Countries with a history of chess like Russia versus a newcomer onto the scene like China and all the important people that come along with that 3) Give more funny tournament stories. You've told that one about the kid playing the Bird's Opening, I'd love to hear more like that lol
I already knew all of these terms (even though I'm not natively English speaking) but a few months ago this would have helped me quite a bit, so good video. A nice addition would be followup with pin, skewer, X-ray, magnet, underpromotion, zugzwang, etc.
@GothamChess Series idea: Players game evolution - how particular players evolved their game quality over time (novelties, strategies, traps, game understandings, etc)
I like these king of videos which gives general ideas and theories rather than gameplays... Hope you'd bring more videos like this.... And obviously with a little more in depth analysis... Thank you..
Hi Levy. I know you say the point is not to memorize deep theory, but I've always been curious about what that deep theory is / looks like, and it sounds to me that it may take months or years to get there, so maybe a video of two or three example of deep theory tactics would be nice to have a general grasp of what it is. Thanks for all the content by the way. I've been watching your videos for the past few weeks and I feel like I've improved a lot.
Great vid, I would love a quick vid that explains the three steps of a person's mental strategy making. I forget if it goes like this: 1. Look for Checks 2. Look for Threats 3. Etc
You missed a few important ones: botez gambit, bongcloud, juicer, wooden shield, en pissant, blunder, left handed checkmate, clickbait and of course T H R O B B I N G
For your next general information video, can discuss over the board tournament etiquette? Things like "don't offer a draw during your opponent's move" and other smaller details?
Hi Levy, ty for the content, helps me a lot. And I also have an idea for vid, maybe you’ll do some explanation on how to improve chess visualization skill, to count moves not only with arrows, but in your mind as well🤔
Chess.com awarded me a Brilliant Move exactly once so far. Unfortunately, I could not for the life of me tell you why. I think my next move was an inaccuracy, followed next by a mistake, and then topped off with a blunder.
What a gosh plum treat this was. Honestly, more terms, more about tournaments, ratings, kinds of players, just more about the chess world. Really nice getting cozy into it.
Because indonesian users are raging about the lost of indonesian Master (Dewa_Kipas) which banned. Yes, this happening. As result, they make this disabled
Levvvvviiii love your content its soo amazing and also accurate. We could use some video to explain about sacrifice and also a part 2 for this video.......Love from India😁
I love this sort of thing to share with my students (I am a science teacher who sometimes runs an afterschool chess club). For me personally, I like watching experts play games.
Hey Levy! Can you please make a video on endgames and checkmating patterns? I sometimes completely win the midgame and then flag because I can't find a way to mate the king.
Another video you could do that would be similar could answer this question: what etiquette do you need to know for live chess tournaments? I've never been to one and would love to hear about how it actually works.
Hi Levi please do a video about the center play, how to fight for the center, what center control really means as well as how all this works and everything around that, thank you?
Thanks Gotham, Because of your lessons i got to learn a lot! My rating also increased I just wanna say keep it up,one day you will overtake agadomator (no offence to agadomator)
