When I was looking for Heron’s, all I saw was spoonbills in pretty much every spot in Lemoyne. Now that I’m looking for spoonbills, all I’m seeing is Heron’s. This game 100% decreases the spawn rate when you’ve been assigned to find certain animals
It's most likely a psychological issue. Like if you're looking for something it's easier to notice everything that isn't what you're looking for. So the spawn rates are normal just make sure to keep looking.
The Heron’s took me maybe 45 minutes. It has been 6 hours and i only have half of the spoonbill plums. This location only gave me 8 aligators. But atleast i got something to do I guess.
@@roxannehoff2889 Ok i have a tip for you, when you have found a good location for any animal (multiple heron for exemple), kill them. Then you just save, and go to the main menu. If this doesn't completely work, just sleep close to the location and try quitting and joining the game again. Hope this helps
Only 2-3 birds for me at this location. But that's 2-3 more birds than I've found at the other locations. I swear, when I was hunting herons I found spoonbils en masse, but now that I'm looking for spoonbills hardly any show up.
That’s because the game just suggests that the marked areas on the map are where the animal you are looking for spawns nearby, it isn’t a direct spawn point for any animal species its only marked just so you know what kind of biome/habitat the animal you want to hunt lives in
Location at 3:18 Hell yes. Dude, thank you. To those who are concerned with their honor, or trying to do a playthrough without losing any honor at all (I know, wild, but it is possible,) all you have to do is break up the hunting a little. If you only shoot 4 or 5 birds and then make sure to pluck them, then return for more later, you won't lose any honor. I'm not sure exactly how many animals it takes, but you only lose honor for multiple animal kills when you shoot 6 or 7 in a row without skinning any of them in between kills. I get why your honor gets dinged for this, but it was implemented kind of lazily without consideration for bird hunting. No worry though, just break it up a bit and you'll be fine.
We'll say 5 simultaneously. BUT also if you harvest any of the animal I've learned it's a bad honor as well. Its like the game knows when you're killing for fun and or for completing objectives. A

MK me too, i swear to god every game has a version and not all locations are good for everyone, this is what i doubt, but most of the times i search for an location and end up finding my own locations and go from one to another and so and so
Honestly think it's something to do with the respawns I've been on this game for 6 months now and try this watch a video then pass 3 days sleeping or what ever then go back it 100% works for the respawn rate 👌

I completed this by searching for other locations where these retards spawn, kill some, change location, kill, change location again... worked also for other hunting challenges, because focusing on just one location is really frustrating as it´s usually just endless waiting for nothing to happen.
@Finnish Demon Yup, no doubt Rockstar got wind of this and fucked it up for us. Never buying another game from them again. I fell in love with this game but when I went to replay missions to try and get gold and found out you have fuck all health and gear that done it for me. Hundreds of hours hunting, crafting, collecting etc just to be kicked in the balls. Fuck you Rockstar and your shitty game design.
it works if there is no birds there save exit and reload go back until there is birds, sometimes it works sometimes I had to reload twice but trust me when it works its great theres like usually 7-9 birds that would spawn for me
For anyone trying to do the exotics mission in 2024, this location worked PERFECTLY for me!!! Quite literally perfect because i was only missing 9 spoonbill plumes and got EXACTLY 9 spoonbills that spawned in this location
I can confirm this location still works as of March 2023! Nothing spawned when I first arrived, but after saving and loading the game and riding in from a short distance, about 10 Spoonbills had spawned on this land spit and right around it. At the time I only needed 4 plumes to finish out the total, but it was very helpful nonetheless!
It’s better to hunt everything you see when you see it. I swear this has worked wonders. Yes it’s tedious but it’s worth it. Upgrade your satchel and fill up every slot of every plume, orchid, herb, egg. It’s helped me tremendously this play through I have 7 of all the egret plumes already. 5 give or take of all the orchids. 60 alligator eggs. 12 heron plumes and 12 spoonbill and this is in chapter 2. Now I found out about that really cool hat you get and I want to make sure when I start the quest I can turn everything in and get it right away
For hunting request wait to become john get the buck trinket so animals dont rot and start colecting all small carcasses and afterwards the bigger ones but do not start the quest. Worked for me i did it in like 5 hours. Also you should use jono in games tutorial and ps5 trophies tutorial
Throwing a stick of dynamite into the center of the little island clears the old spoonbills out quickly so you dont have to hunt for the ones that havent been plucked. Thanks for the tip, it took me hours to get half my spoonbills and about 15 minutes to get the rest.
One tip Is to set a camp, sleep till the next noon, save the game, quit it and reload it. It will still be noon and the Spoonbills will be respawned. Works every time.
As of 2/19/24, this still works! When I first went there there were none. I did what he recommended and exit and reload the game. When I returned to that spot, there were two spoonbills. Dispatched them and exit/reload. Then there were 10 there!
If anyone is having trouble with the spawns, just make a camp somewhere near this place sleep as long as you can and save. The. Reload the save until they spawn

Make a camp near this area. Sleep as much as you can. Save your game. Exit your game and go back in. If you have to sleep extra. I usually wake arthur up in the morning. You can hear the spoonbills as soon as you wake up.
BRILLIANT!! I did the hunting requests then this. I am SICK of shooting birds, very helpful mate, CHEERS!! I camp just across the border towards Van Horn 20 hr sleep, wake up refreshed in the morning and save, exit then restart game. Works as advertised an entire flock awaits.
Very good location, still works on 1.13. Took me some time to find the first ones. I went to the location, couldn't find any, went away and set up a camp pretty far away from the location. Slept to morning and went again to the location and found 3 of them. After that I killed and skinned them, set up a camp around 100-200 metres from the location away, slept until noon, saved the game and loaded the just saved game. After that I went again to the location and killed and skinned them again and repeated the sleeping, saving and loading method until I got all of them. I always hunted them down in daylight (morning or noon) and without rain. Mostly I found 2 or 3 of them, but in some rare cases I also managed to find 4 of them. Moreover I killed the alligators and the snakes on the first time and after I started to sleep, save and load the game no additional alligators showed up.
lol had to look bk in my library to find this. I’m on another play through but I normally ignore this challenge as it’s tedious. Anyhow thanks for this as it’s helped me again. I think Arthur is very bored by now but happy that he’s getting plenty of sleep.
A slight variation on what you did, I made a camp just to the northwest, slept till morning. And then went to hunt. If there was no birds you just load game- autosave. It'll load when you just woke up. And there's always been spoonbills after a load.
Lmao rockstar couldn't be bothered with correctly marking locations for animals where they actually spawn but they expected players to waste their life away by finding and grinding this shit.
30 damn birds is ridiculous. I couldn't get them to respawn just by saving and loading but between here and the area near here I had plenty to finish off my last 12. Thanks man.
