I am taking an online boot camp in UX Writing. We just covered these types of things in the current module of our course. This is a great review of what we are leaning now! Thank you!

My Bro Josh here is low-key the Man of Steel. Great informative video.

I respectfully disagree with your point at 7:44. Many browsers have automatic pop up screens which indicate how long a download will take. Otherwise, this is a fantastic video!

I love this video. It is extremely informative and thought provoking. I do need to point out though that his second example (the shipping company) would be quite problematic for dyslexic users and/or users with low vision. This population is often completely overlooked in user experience research, and current literature is suggesting that up to 15% of the population (in the US alone) lives with dyslexia. There is no approximation provided for people with low vision or other vision barriers. ADHD and autism (which often can co-occur with dyslexia) are additional considerations which tend to be overlooked in user experience. But for UX Writing specifically, I am concerned about the lack of attention to dyslexic users and users with low or limited vision.

Respectfully disagree with your review of covid test example. As for me, highlighting negative result in green is really smart and helpful. I'm always confused with med results, coz it's hard to catch if negative is good or bad for you. And in this case green, which is usually used for yes/correct/great options, tells me having the negative result is exactly what I need

I get what you're saying here but I can definitely see how a the word 'negative' in green can be confusing as some might see it as a "double negative." I like the idea of making the text black but bold. But I def see what you mean.

Disagree with the comment. Green for negative and red for positive then would be using the metaphor of a traffic light, which has nothing to do with medicine or test results. Using no color at all would be better IMO. Keep it simple.

I agree with it. Green seems to remove the confusion instead. Anyways it's a good topic for debate✌️

There are users who are color blind and can't see green or red, or just green or just red, so using those colors is a poor choice.

Hello, I am transitioning careers from a completely different background, I was wondering if your UX writing course offers tips on how to perform usability testing? This will be for my first case study on my portfolio and I want to show employers that I can do the job. Thank you
