@@Unpainted_Huffhines No he was not. Ephialtes was not even a Spartan. He was living near the place of the battle and that is why he knew the secret passage of the mountains.

@@Unpainted_Huffhines well....totally different names. Ephialtes means "strong jumper" and his name became synonym to "nightmare" after the betrayal. Leotychidas and Leonidas have the common "leon" in their names which means lion.

In fact until today in Greece we use his name as a phrase for seeing bad dreams. "I've seen an ephialte on my sleep"

Just about to add this. There is no greater glory to a Greek than to die in the field of battle. To live forever... would only be a gift to the unwise.

The only time people got buried are woman died at childbirth in service to Sparta and the other is a soldier who died in battle.

That is insane, they must’ve been at an unreal mental zone, probably impressed with themselves, boosting their moral all the more and Vice versa for the Persians who can’t make sense of the repeated losses

This movie is filled with mythical creatures. We know none of this is real 😂

This movie is based on a graphic novel, but some of the events are based on real history. Obviously everyone understand that the magic and fantasy creatures aren't real.

And for the same reason, Persians won after the war. And for the same reason Alexander the Great never invaded Persian empire. They were too many... of course! 😂
