I agree, they seem to me too random in a short time span. I feel like Trav and ofc LK are way more consistent and you have some expectations, whereas with Cows I had 200 runs with only 1 mid rune.

Haha yeah LK is a bit boring, but i always find there something so it is full with dopamine :) Cows are not my favorite exactly but they do deliver constantly if you manage quick runs

For the time it takes to run and get a wirts leg every time I would imagine he’s taking a few extra seconds to kill most/all of the mobs.

Yes, i was focusing on killing ~90% of mobs, so all large groups pretty much. It doesn't make sense to deal with every single cow as you will loose efficiency

Grey ones are potential bases for runewords, uniques can either be used on mercenaries or a collection purpose.

I should try it on, when the patch comes out - really curious how much damage it would make

@@KvotheD Yep. Its a pain in the a** to run cows with anything other than a Javazon for me. My light sorc is OK too but hammerdin and blizz sorc are so painful in cows compared to what these chars do in other areas like chaos or wsk. Lightning fury really burries everything else when it comes to cows.

I'd say Poison Necro with dweb, and very well geared trapasin are somehwat better than a javazon in terms of efficiency, but playstyle is definitely different

In offline play (single player) you can set it to players 3 either in gameplay menu, by typing /players 3 in the game chat, or as i do - i created a shortcut of the d2r.exe and in the properties added -players 3 (this way i don't need to change it every game). One of this ways makes it possible, but only offline :)

For runes high players difficulty is better, at least p3. Further on depends how quick you are able to kill mobs, if it slows you down too much - stay at lower settings. Correct, mf doesn't affect rune drops at all

That's a tough question! For most of the uniques - you need to know what is used on most popular builds and then "used in build" = value. For the magic, rare and base items it is harder to explain, as there are tons of different options and items available in each category.

You can also make screenshots of some stuff and post in discord communities, or i guess reddit too, and ask for a price check

Generally Javazon is probably the easiest. Necro and Trapasin are quite efficient on a budget too thanks to CE/Death Sentry.

It is one in 56k 😊 after killing 56k cows you have roughly 62% confidence that you will get a lem rune

That's a good option, although missing auras is brutal

With the chances of 1 in 500k it is really up to rng to find it, unless you are super efficient and farm for ~40 hours...Try switching to travincal, and if single player - to LK. Variety makes it fun. In fact i farmed City of the Damned and Driftern Cavern for ~12 hours while recording cow runs, just to break the dry spells. Cheers mate!

Took me 4 mins and 5 sec on average, i have to say last 100 runs i was getting tired and was on a way more relaxed way of playing, before i was getting 3min 45sec average run time

People speculate that d2r rune drop rates are better than d2. I've done probably over 1500 cow runs and a few have dropped, along with every other high rune. Wont see that in classic though

@@TheSeeker225 to be fair guys, in 3 years active every week farming I found 2 Bers, and 2 or 3 Jahs. Else is countless Sur, Lo and Ohms. The chances of 1 in 500000 are only for 62% confidence, which has high potential for an error. So don't think they messed with drop rates, that would be easy to spot

@@KvotheD I also should mention that years ago I didn't focus on runes. All I do now are 8 player cow or chaos pop runs. I'm sitting around 400 hours of play in d2r with 55 runes vex and higher. I know I put more hours into d2 in early 2000's and only saw like 1 vex and a hand full in the um/pul range. It seems like I'd have to be really unlucky back then and extremely lucky recently. Others are reporting a lot of high runes like majinhuffy in those moo moo clip vids and other you tubers. I'm ok with it because I hated dumping 500 hours into a game and not being able to make a CTA or Hoto, forget about infinity

That's a good sign! It's a bit better with 2.4 for some specific places. I might try it too, some options to theory craft are there for sure

I would say it is ok on the rune side, i'm not the fastest cow runner, nor my build is optimized. For items i think i got quite lucky!

Yep Lk is the best here. I just didn't want to sit there too much, and rather see how long does it take just to farm :D Well, many months, unless you play everyday for 2-3 hours

I agree man, without trading, it's just too long. If they increase base drop rate to P3 - then the trade market will break, cause there are only few uniques that are worth something and almost no variable stats, and no icentive to have more than one (e.g. corruption system as in PD2). Without further balancing this problem won't get solved for solo players

Yes of course, cows is one of the best places to farm runes. Having more optimization for clear speed is important, mf here plays no role.

Online it is probably not possible. Offline, you obviously need a good map, with a Tristram next to the wp, also good cow map - without oo many off shoots and open space. Then the running itself - no need to kill every cow, just big groups. It takes some practice

@@KvotheD I’m running player 3 with 77 javazon around 8-10 min depending on leg and with summon necro wround 7-9 min with leg but that’s still very slow. Without teleport is rough

Lol true, when the chances are 1 in 500,000 - it is a long shot to be confident in finding something. The only problem is when you "need" a rune to start doing your builds and farm :D

Poison is better due to lowering hp of cows while you get first corpse - it's much faster to deal with the pack this way. Skellies are only needed as meat shield - merc is a main damage for 1-2 corpses. As for the poppables - i tried at first, but it prolongs the run times so much that makes not much sense anymore. Well, everyone enjoys playing differently
