I think the pros (like Mac) had advocated for Cows just not what level of cows. I think we all have that mentality to go Hell for everything. I know out of pure boredom I quit both Nm and Hell cows because I was forced to really use 1 character (javazon) and ended up dropping the idea. I was trying to focus more on using the Zon in other areas 🤷🏽‍♂️ we know cows is it’s spot but jeeez I grew bored and Hell cows was a challenge without gear

@@sebastianmalmsteen 20/11 are always valuable. maybe not as a 20/5, 20/17, 3/20/20 or a 451 but still always a great charm. and well a 20 life 11 fireres might be more valuable since most sorcs will need the one or other to compensate spirit so there is more demand.

On P1 settings doing AoE farming is always sub optimal, but it's still the best place to go to do it.

You need a merc with Insight as a "mana battery" so your choices are Act 1 or 2 mercenaries. Since you'll be doing most of the damage and need your merc to stay alive, I use a Cold Rogue. But if you want to kill Lightning immunes (the Cow king is ALWAYS immune to lightning) a Holy Freeze Act 2 merc should be your choice. Since it's just Nightmare Cows, the usual combination of a decent elite polearm for insight, Tal Rasha's Crest and Treachery/Duriel's/Shaftstop/Gladiator's bane should work fine for survivavility

@@sebastianmalmsteen so Holy Freeze here is a trap because it slows down cows entering the range of your Nova. I'd go Might Aura.

In general yes, since the game has a lower "item pool" from which to choose each time you kill an enemy and it drops an item. But if you can kill fast in hell I'd suggest to stick with that, since you can also get nice runeword bases and high runes.

However its also worth noting that if you can do p5 nm, thats going to drop a lot more than p1 hell.

For strictly charms maybe, you just won't be able to roll 35+ life skillers. But you're missing out on bases and most importantly runes, which are the #1 reason to farm cows

I would highly suggest NOT rerolling Nihlathak charms unless you're trying to replace current skillers with perfect skillers.

@@MacroBioBoi What skillers XD dont have any ^^ I thought since people say you should save nithlak, diablo and baal grand charms. That those are the ones you wanted to reroll :S

@@norskevikingen7189 they can get up to 45 life which is cool, but they also have the chance of rolling more affixes that are NOT + to skills so they take more rolla on average to get + to skills.

Yeah, I would not recommend determining any farming spots value off less than 20-100 runs. Sometimes a lot more.

@@MacroBioBoi i know I work with statistics it was more a joke than anything else ;) Buuuuut your video about nm cows opened my eyes to this farming spot so I think I'll run there for some time bc if I understood this right then the cows can drop all those charms, jewlery, up to ist rune and some very nice uniques :)

I'm real interested what you pick up. I'm grinding Countess atm on my Nova and NM cows drop up to ist, so it could be a nice change of pace.

@@kristopherleslie8343 I just finished some runs, here are my times: 10x Countess, 22:16 - Um, Fal, Tkey, 2x hel 5x NM cows, 23:32 - 11CR SC, Sigs gloves, 4os flail. Probably more value from Countess, but the Um is a bit of an outlier for 10 runs. I saw a ton of charms and bases in cows, they just didn't roll right. its probably a lot closer than we would expect on a 105 Nova.

@@bobnewkirk7003 thank you for the times! I was busy yesterday doing countess heavy runs and eventually she dropped a Lum and a bunch of mid to low runes. I had to remember (way late into the runs) that before you walk into floor 5 what affects the drops. We had 3 man team but we were doing the bugged quest of her. So we had 2 people always hitting her floors so we started seeing the quality of drops and chest get affected. We eventually did pits too and I think the chest there also works same way 🤷🏽‍♂️ So we going to retry tonight and hopefully get better drops. We did cows but I’m not specked for it. I’m a hybrid pally heavy focused on FOH/HB and smite/fanaticism. And my partner is a seasoned Paladin but still lacking skills / movement to use hammerdin so I’m trying to teach him along the way. Had to let him and my merc do the work and I know our kill times were not spectacular. I’ve got a Amazon I’m trying to boot up and hopefully get her ready to do cows this week. I honestly hated cows (the monotony) but going to try to give it another try :)

Cows are pretty grindy; I don't mind doing NM on my sorc because the whole pack goes down in 2-3 Novas, and once I have an infinity I will probably be able to do the same in hell. I'm actually working on my Hybrid Smiter now, I finally worked up enough wealth to get him geared so now I just have to get him leveled. Hopefully this weekend i'll break into some P1 CS, and I think Lucky is going to walk a D clone Saturday so being able to do my own will be nice.

This was online*. There were two people in the game for some of the games. You can play with other players and get more drops.

@@ustalofficial that's it's a waste of time to farm NM cows as part of your normal progression, to get good mid-game items as well as great charms and good uniques/sets. Your same argument could be applied to Hell Cows. It would be a waste since it can't drop Death's Web. It's all about the character's current objective and what gear you need at what moment.

@@MacroBioBoi yes you are totally right at that point though it's recommended to run those nm cows after hell done. If it is for play through its highly recommended to spin some rounds there allG 😉
