The 300 prc is fine its the 225 that's on the soft side that causes the extra meat damage if you wanna cut down on meat damage just use a tougher bullet that's not so soft the 208 eld match is great and so would the berger 230 otm both have very high bcs but are tougher bullets
@@ChuckinTV I notice Porting/muzzle brake on it and I see some with just a threaded barrel and thread protector i’m assuming you get what you got with the larger calibers and some of the smaller calibers just come with a thread protector well my question is does that barrel also come threaded? Or it that just the barrel

Pretty confident in the ballistics... Yeah... With that grapefruit sized exit hole, I'd be pretty confident too. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the match bullets worked fine. I mean, that's a very very high sectional density and it looked like a broadside shot. Hard to argue with results Awesome, love seeing good successfu and ethicall hunting videos, especially with the unjustified, increased scrutiny of hunting today.
I have the same rifle got to shoot it yesterday for the first time 10 rounds down the barrel and put the last 3 in the same hole 212’s factory ammo 100 yards I did bed the lug before I even shot it and put a elite hunter in it
That is some incredible damage, from a match bullet to boot. I'm starting on my one and only deer tag in the morning. taking the 50 cal.....................Pennsylvania long rifle.
Going to load some of those 225s in my .340 Wby for this hunting season in Wyoming. After last season's experience I'm going for stop, drop, and roll too!
If you hit bone using match bullets they fragment violently and usually this is the result. Had you been using ELD X bullets probably would of been much less mess.
@@jmark1298 ELD-X is still cup and core so I believe that. A quality bonded bullet like Accubond, Terminal Ascent, Bondstrike, Scirocco II and you'll definitely tell the difference in fragmentation.
Nice shooting. Seeing all the blown up meat is enough to remind me that I don't need a magnum caliber rifle, the inclination to get one crops up repeatedly for some reason?? 6.5 Creedmoor has been more than enough knock down on the Fallow deer I shoot. Even the .270 I used to shoot was a meat waster if the shot wasn't ideal.
Based on my limited experience with it and also some other gear reviewers I trust on RU-vid: I'd say the Arken out classes many scopes for the money. It almost rivals the Sightron SIII for clarity, but at a much lower cost. The reticle is nice. The turrets seem to track reliably. And overall it feels like a quality scope. At this point I have nothing against it.
I hit a moose walking side on at 550y . Range finder wouldnt work so i held where i thought it would be and she fell . 300wm through both lungs. Had 2ft of snow down so i had to shoot sitting down with my back against the argo supported by my knee. Best shot i ever made by far. Wish i had a video of that
It was a over kill for sure. I was pretty concerned with how overgrown the farm was. I really wanted to make sure we didn't have to track anything through that golden rod.

Maybe we will. From our limited experience and based on other reviewers, it seems to be a hell of a good scope considering the low price. But time will tell I suppose.
@@jimbo3615 you know what they say about assume. PA has the most hunters per capita than any other state. Plus PA is just silly with their laws and can't follow suit with any other state, we're the odd ones
@@projectredbeard2199 real world data says you are wrong. I shoot a 215 Berger out of a 300 win and 300 prc and they are the same. Just over 3000. I shoot 225 right at 2950 and 230s just over 2940.
@@Dave-cf2ng well I shoot it and load it so I'm gonna say that's pretty real world lol... out of a 30" tube I pushed 230 A-tips at 3150 with a 300wm, 300wm CAN and WILL Push bullets faster if you know what you are doing, but I guess I don't know anything, i just like to prove at the range that these "new hottness" calibers aren't as great as they make them seem because your "real world data" is derived from manufacturers "new and improved" hype marketing. 300wm > 300prc.

@@ChuckinTV well they did work my nephew shot A cow elk at 200 yards with a 168 Berger vld loaded by me. The cow walked slowly as she was hit good little low but still lungs he shot couple more once he got another broad side shot we recovered the bullet. The round tip was not opened up it kinda blew the whole side of the bullere open but the tip remained it’s wild I wasn’t I pressed I much prefer eldm eldx or accubonds Nice videos nice guns always enjoy ur content
@@Dave-cf2ng Its call hydrostatic shock. I’m pretty sure he lose meat in both front shoulders ribs and possibly some back straps. Depending on caliber and bullet it’s can be very dramatic like what we saw in the video. Shot placement was little high the caliber and bullet did the rest. FYI the deers skin shouldn’t explode like it did.
So, first time past 100 yards with a gun you take afield, and you hit high. You needed 2 clicks on the fly to make an impact and @ 440yrds with a round that has only 7" of drop at that distance . I'd say that's not such a great shot, in fact it was a bit irresponsible on your part. But hell, it was only a defenseless animal so who cares.
