300 Win Mag in an AR10 style platform:
When considering AR-10/AR.308 possibilities, remember that the whole system is designed around Short Action cartridges; like .762/ .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .277 fury, 8.6 Blackout. These are all compatible with AR-10/AR-308 mags, lowers and uppers.
300 Win Mag is a Long Action cartridge much like 30-06, so the bolt would literally not close in your upper receiver, it wouldn't fit in any mags, and it wouldn't fit through the mag well.
GLFA has redesigned the platform ever so slightly to accommodate the larger round by repositioning the safety; enlarging the mag well; developing proprietary magazine(s) and moving the ears of the charging handle forward to allow for the longer throw on ejection; among other things.
I'm fascinated by this design marvel and that's not all they also chamber it for other common hunting rounds. Specifications are listed below.

The all new GL10 LA (long action) may look like your standard AR-10, and it's even the same size - but its patent pending design packs a MUCH. BIGGER. PUNCH! Introducing the first caliber of the series, the .300 Win Mag. Solid, accurate, and able to go the distance... you can't afford to hunt without it!

I paid more for my RPR in .300wm. I doubt this Ar would be as accurate but I could do a lot with this rifle I can’t do with my RPR, like carry it and shoot or tactical it out. I would lighten it up first to get it as low as humanly possible.

Yeah, FAIL! They went out of their way to make this rife design silly & this unreliable. 1. Idiotic single stack magazine (should have simply scaled up SR-25 magazines). 2. Lack of understanding of gas systems and powder characteristics of long action/magnum action ammo. The gas system should have been a Rifle Length + 3” at a minimum. 3. Silly BCG design. Should have elongated an AR-10 carrier and only made a custom bolt for the magnum bolt face with dual extractors. 4. It’s the 2020s. The trigger should have just been a Geiselle. This is a lesson in how not to “design” an AR.

After break in what can I expect for accuracy out of the 7mm mag or 300 mag. Looking. For a rifle that can take elk and moose from distances around the 400 yards mark. I’d like to be able to stretch its legs with some long distance shooting too. Also what kinda recoil am I looking at, I’ve shot 7mm RUM and 300 mag bolt guns before along with rifles like the SFAR and FN-FAL.

Bought there rifle in ar10 30-06 new. Dust bolt cover doesnt stay shut. Miss fires even tried different trigger. Jams when feeding from clip. Bolt dosent stay open with empty clip even pulling it all the way open with charging handle..if push upward on clip it will stay till you relase the pressure. All there reviews doesnt show accuray on paper. You will have to change there break if you want better than 4 inch group. Porly built!!

@p47rr
@p47rr 4 месяца назад
Yes I like mine. Especially for the price. Hardly any play between upper and lower. Changed trigger. Trigger pins fit perfect in the lower. No wiggle. (So many entry level AR rifles are out of spec.) Pins shouldn’t just slip in. M-lok cuts in hand guard are also tight. The magpul rail literally snaps lightly in place. Literally no movement back and forth. Hand guard has no sharp edges. Now the upper receiver had sharp edges inside. And the blocks the take down pins slide through. Not much paint on the inside of the upper receiver. So four hundred grit sand paper. Didn’t take but a few minutes to knock the edges down. Stainless buffer spring and nickel plated buffer. Nitrided bolt carrier. Only thing I didn’t like was the firing pin is held in place by a roll pin you have to punch out. After I break it in I will be installing a POF roller cam pin. It looks like a standard 308 size. I did email. But the representative reply they thought it was. I always shoot a hundred rounds to let the stock cam pin break in. So often you will see wear marks. That way I’m less likely to scuff up the new one. Took the muzzle break off to inspect the crown and to see the rifling. Looked great. I also prefer a break that doesn’t have holes on the bottom. Went with a LMT four chamber break. The charging handle itself is long. And only theirs will fit. But I did which out the latch to an extended latch from Strike Industries. Gun is test fired from the factory. I Noticed the buffer had three marks from the retaining pin hitting it. So I have a Galloway Precision off set pin on the way to fix that. I did notice the rear take down pin didn’t have that positive click when I pushed it all the way in. I thought it had a weak spring. Took it apart. The spring was fine. But when I tilted it back to have the plugger fall out. A small roll pin fell out. Yeah it’s the same size as a plugger. But it isn’t pointed on the end. I happen to have a spare. So all is good now. The charging handle latch roll pin was too long. It was digging into the receiver. So tapped it out just enough to use a dremal to grind it down a few thousands. I went through the whole rifle. And everything was tight. Had to go with a Luth PRS stock. Because I had to be able to move the cheek riser back to clear the extra long charging handle. Also you can’t use a Ambi safety selector. One side of the receiver has a ridge hanging over the top. Hard to explain. But clearance issues because the receiver is beefed up on that side. Magazine is made out of thick aluminum. Feels heavy duty. After dreaming about other 300 Winchester Magnum AR rifles. This one is great because it is affordable. And I can upgrade it the way I want. Built a few LR308’s over the years. If they spent a little more time on deburring the receivers. I think they could definitely charge more. I am not a gunsmith. But was a certified car mechanic. Owned a bicycle shop for over fifteen years. So have a mechanical back ground. If you want to learn about AR rifles. Watch School of the American Rifle. Sorry for the long posting. But I hope that it might help someone else figure out if this might be a good rifle for them.

Installed a POF roller pin cam. It is really smooth now. Also l normally use a light grease in my AR10s and AR15s. However with this rifle it burns it off fast. So now I use Mobile one synthetic grease. Same thing I use on my AKs and Garand. Coat the BCG rails.
