Nice I’m pretty much right at the point you started this video. This is going to be very helpful when I start putting everything back together. Thank you!
Awesome! I'm happy to hear that! Lmk if you have any questions at all. Reach out to me on my IG, i see those messages/comments much faster than here lol
Any timing/running problems yet with the broken CAS alignment pin you experienced? Mine is broken as well and I was told that the broken pin is only needed to align the CAS during install. Thanks!!
Nope everything runs perfect! I was able to throw my timing light on it and was almost spot on at 15 degrees from where i temporarily set it too lol. Timing was steady and was beautiful to see haha. Hope this video helps!
@@DriftMagic Thanks for the reply Sir! All of the forums that I’ve read have conflicting information. Some say that a broken CAS alignment pin on the camshaft will allow the timing to wonder, thus a cam replacement is needed. I just don’t want to go back into the engine and was considering trying exactly what you did to remedy the problem. Replacing the exhaust cam would suck if I could have just aligned the CAS back up and resolved the problem.
Yes that wouldn’t make sense unless the teeth were stripped. The alignment tab is simply just that, for alignment. And if you can locate the portion that broke off, take a small metal dowel that could fit in there and put a tiny amount of jb weld on it, it would serve the same purpose. But yea I just eyed it lol. If you hear it in the video it sounded like new on start up lol
@@DriftMagic Great info and a very detailed video as your timing belt video was the only one on RU-vid that covers the broken CAS alignment issue - excellent job!!
