301.4A Cyclic Groups Introduction 

Cyclic groups are groups generated by powers of a single element. Keep two models in mind for cyclic groups: those that are infinite will be "the same" as the additive group of integers. Those that are finite will be "the same" as the additive group of equivalence classes of integers modulo n.
