Awesome stuff! I really wanted answers for questions at 49:52 and 55:35 for a long time and now I have them. Thanks for the amazing content. I really appreciate it and I’m super grateful to you all. 🙏
I would like to meet Dr Mike some day, have a chat, as he's not only extremely knowledgeable, and jacked, but also hilarious. Imagine party with him, when some alcohol is involved. Next day - the biggest ABS delayed muscle soreness EVER lol 🤣
Haha! The discussion of meeting your sole-mate was hilarious. It's hard to find an intellectual bodybuilder in Kansas City, especially in my age range. I am 52, masters athletes are a rare group. 😂
Can totally relate with the joint issues! When I was 17 I got shoulder impingement from getting too strong too fast especially with pressing movements (+neglecting my rotator cuff/pulling movements) and had to recover for an entire year from this false kind of training, which made me so much more conscious of my body and made me focus more on technique and balance and learn more about human physiology Great tips from Dr. Mike about this topic again! 💪Think injury prevention and sustainability are things that are too often over-seen in this sport (especially on social-media with all this new fancy special exercises e.g. with fricking bosu-balls or so😅)
Is there a way to view a video version of the seminar after it's done? Listening to Mike's description of Charly's presentation sounds EXACTLY what I'm worried about going into my first contest prep this fall.
are bent over rows even that good at *building* the erectors though? I think it *requires* good erectors to get the most out of it but I wonder if it's not the best at actually building erectors. Seems like the erectors get built by other things (deadlifts and other hinges) and then, once you have strong ones, the bent over row can be used to build the upper back. otherwise, for most, I bet erectors give out before upper back is taxed.
Suggestion to Steve: if you do a single leg press turning your feet relatively inward, you might find the outer quad get a ton of stretch action going. Now we all know that regional muscle hypertrophy is minor blah blah but let's just make it clear that getting an outer quad stretch akin to a preacher curl stretch is unheard of, and stretch under load is big for hypertrophy.
I want to meet the love of my life with mike on my shoulder! "1 more pickup line" "another" "deeper, slower" mr feather on her shoulder "you are here to date, not just talk"
