The 2023 Ford F150 Lightning Lariat trim is such an awesome truck. You can even take a road trip with confidence. If you leave it in sport mode, the regenerative braking will help extend the range whether you are driving in town or on a highway.

Fellow Lightning owner here. You don't need to use one-pedal mode or sport mode to get regenerative braking. Even in regular mode, the brake pedal applies regen-braking before it applies the friction brakes. So if the braking-coach gauge gives you 100% score after stopping, it means you didn't touch the brake-pads. So for longest brake life, just brake gently and use whichever drive mode you like best. 🙂

Good advice. I’m in the middle of doing a in town range test with all the different modes now. While I agree with you I also would add that getting 100% most of the time on the brake coach without too much thought is easier in 1-pedal drive mode. So far there is also a difference in range, which I will talk about in that video.

Nope sorry not yet. Maybe on a future update. However it will ask you when you start if you want to return to sport mode. Then you just click “ok”. At least that’s something.
