37 year old guy here. Single for close to four years now. The problem nowadays is social media absolutely ruining what (most) women believe is normal and/or realistic. It’s not normal to be a millionaire. It’s not normal to drive super cars, own a mansion, or flood a girl with lavish and expensive gifts. It’s not realistic to vacation to tropical islands every other month. It’s hard to find someone who understands that working and owning a home is hard to do nowadays. It’s not always feasible to have a lot of ‘extra’. Sometimes bills need to be paid, emergencies happen, etc.

But I've started doing something that sounded like a RU-vid cliché but really has started making me stand on my 2 feet properly. Doing things on my own, doesn't matter how small, but independent of any kind of praise at all. I take photos, I don't publish them I draw, I don't publish it, I workout in a corner so noone should see me, I box where no one can give me attention. That's coz when I have recently started looking at my changing body and slowly filled up stacks of notebooks and files with art, I have started feeling contented, like never before. Now when I look in the mirror, I don't see a loser, I see an asset to myself. It's still a journey but the effort and the pain to reach this point, I can see all that now. @RJ-dw4jw That's correct, but I was married to a European woman. We loved each other dearly till her daughter reminded her to be more of a mom and less of a wife. In due course of time, her love slowly evaporated, and I couldn't do anything more than I could to keep her attention. What started as a separation to "work things out" became a "it's better this way," and in 5 years, I had to sign the magic paper. After which, I had 2 serious relationships with 2 more European women and both of them, wanted more to be free, than to be "confined" to relationships and family. So, yeah. I’m a 32 year old woman who kind of gave up on dating too. I feel like people who are really nice and loving and trusting end up getting taken advantage of and overtime, it takes a toll on you. I remember I was dating this one guy who never really got over his ex. He still years later, talked about the hurt that she, put him through. He told me that I was an amazing woman, but he could never fully commit to me because he was still not over her. Although he never actually said he wasn’t, his actions said otherwise, and I tried to show him I was different, which led to my hurt as well in the end. My lesson from that was that, someone needs to be fully healed before they can get into a relationship with someone else. I hope that we all find some happiness and healing one day and find the amazing soulmate that we all deserve to have.

@LoukasMikros naw actually I was a train wreck. Just got out of the Army and back from war. My wife actually changed me. I got saved on a rooftop at 2am in Iraq after losing 2 friends the day prior. My only advice is to cling to Jesus. He will direct you.

Not just because I was led on but being told “you never loved me you barely knew me, we never dated so idk why it matters.” Being put down for how I felt and the situation being downplayed. It showed me how cruel it really is. Also, dating apps is just an energy sucker and self esteem destroyer. I wasn't being authentic and wasn't open to being vulnerable. Now I can fully say I'm strong enough to be vulnerable and authentic and at the same time good at vetting women and having the ability to walk away. It's a blessing but at the same times during my teens did a lot of stupid sh1t and fucked up some aspects of my health (low bp, lung collapse, shortness of breath) because I felt never good enough for women. It’s been such a burden and when I tried to find the man I’ve always wanted, when things ended, I felt like they took that dream away from me and it destroyed me! Now that I’m 29 and still single, I realized how much of a burden that was and maybe it’s time to step back and fix and work on making myself happy instead of looking for someone else to bring me happiness. I still want to be married and have children but I know my worth now and don’t want to go through the heartache again and bear this burden anymore! I’ve been a lot happier since.
@@oldsoul94395 i felt this old soul. listen, years I was with somebody and the thought of being a father and making this person My life partner became so strong that I got lost in the illusion and didn’t see past so many red flags along the journey. My desire to be a father. It was only heightening when I thought this was my chance. But really it was my chance to leave and let go of her. She was not the one for me to embark being the father and a family man man to. I’m so blessed about that. for a couple of months after the breakup, I dismissed the whole idea as you did, I felt like the world shattered on me and that I would never be able to find a mate or a partner to start a family with be a father, but I realize that was so much pressure put upon myself and I let it go. Now I know that it will come at some point, but I don’t even stress it. We are way too young to put those burdens so heavy on us if God is not putting those burdens on, why are we. live everyday, become the mother and wife within, let the rest follow. take care 🙏
@@LoukasMikros Thank you for that! I'm sorry for the heartache you went through and I'm glad you're in a better place now. I agree when you said, "God is not putting those burdens on us", and I never thought about it in that way and its true. I can say I've never felt like I won't be a wife and mother someday. I also ignored red flags and obvious signs that I wasn't supposed to be in the relationship that I was in and ignored them for the sake of these desires. Now I'm willing to be a bit more patient with myself and become more of the woman I desire to be. Getting the burden off my heart has truly blessed me! Keep up the good work. 👍 I've been on this path most of my life, growing and improving on who I could be. Women are too much work and wind up a waste of time. I've been with many, and none of them were worth the effort. I love the path I'm on being alone to live as I want. I don't believe in marriage, and I don't have kids. I love living in harmony with the creator.
Voluntarily celibate for the past decade. I can't say I'm happy or fulfilled yet. BUT I know for a fact I've avoided lots of stupid BS and my life is more peaceful because of it. The housing market is garbage, I'm van lifing it, retirement is secured, and I'm taking strides towards deeper meditation and monk life. This world is empty.
@@sterlingkayon84 can't say I like dealing with van life. I'm a creative person and would fare better in a sticks and bricks where I could spread out more and have several projects going at the same time. Van is too cramped for that. So I'm a bit miserable because of that. But at least I'm saving a little bit of money.

As a 33 year old woman who actually wants a family, I’ve decided not to go the online dating route. Too energy draining. Working on myself and hoping I attract an aligned life partner. Still hoping to meet someone special but I agree, the wrong partner can set you years back. It gets lonely sometimes but peace is priceless.
