#31 - Classic Car Restoration - Spray Painting The 12 Bedford Panels as The Top Coat Goes On at Last

So, at the end of our last video, we were still working our way through the massive chalkboard tick list of panels, with all the colour block sanding and top coat still to go, as well as the bodywork and the final coat of primer still to be applied to the headlamp panels, which, awkward pesky things that they are, have been lagging behind everything else from the start. But this week, after so many weeks of hard graft, it really does look like we’re going to finish it all at last. There are a couple of minor bumps in the road as we go but, spoiler alert, we do promise that by the end of this video, all the Bedford panels will be in their marvellous shiny top coat. Something for which, we’re sure, we can all be truly thankful!

We are 2 'old enough to know better' artists from Cornwall in the UK, and together we are building this off-grid home on wheels from the remains of a 1975 Bedford Firetruck.
We bought the truck on eBay at the end of 2020 and had it delivered by an even bigger truck to a huge, old barn-on-a-farm we are renting to use as our workshop whilst we undertake this challenge.
Well, several months and a few set backs later, we’re currently in the process of ‘lovingly’ restoring the base vehicle, taking the whole thing apart, piece by rusty piece, so we can make it all new and shiny again, before we embark on the even bigger task of building a home on its back out of nothing more than grit, imagination, sweat, tears and possibly a bit of magic and wishful thinking!
