This week, Deepti and guest host Iyanna McNeely break down the good, the bad, and the boring from the finale and reunion of this season’s Love is Blind. Did Uche get a bad edit? Did Milton make the right choice? Did Lydia lie?
Love the energy Iyanna brings! Seems like her opinions are more in line with the general public's. Natalie's opinions tend to be more unique (and unpopular, which makes the convo interesting), and Deepti's are kind of a mix of both (making her a good mediator), so Iyanna brings a nice balance. It would be cool to have all three on more often, as long as Iyanna is willing to watch through future seasons lol
Ive watched the reunion several times. Johnie didn't start the conversation, Chris did. I think he engaged Johnie to protect her from having to deal with Stacey 's diatribe *again*. Stacey took every opportunity to attack Johnie. This time, Chris stepped in.
Johnie said in an interview that Chris was asking if she was okay, and she replied I’m sorry I called you out as a cheater, so I think they’re just comforting each other and just catching up
Chris was actually the one who began talking to Jonnie, when Stacy was talking. If anyone was rude, it was Chris for starting to talk when he knew someone else was being interviewed. Jonnie was just being polite by responding to him. Jonnie even goes over what he said to her in that moment in multiple interviews. You can see he leans in first to say something.
Y'all missed the fact that the internet sleuths noticed Uche's screenshots of the chat and video call were actually edited and were GROUP chats. So probably a bunch of the boys had a video call together for 4 hours, not just Uche with Milton.
That makes a lot of sense because what could they really have been speaking one on one, for 4 hours about? Nothing about their interactions seemed close and friendly even before Milton and Lydia got engaged.
30:50 I disagree I think Stacy was the mean girl in this situation, she was talking over Stacy but if you listen to what stay is saying all she’s doing is dragging the shit out of Johnnie, if that was me I wouldn’t want to listen to that
Izzy didn't come across particularly well, but Stacey gives me bad vibes. Bully! Also on the subject of a losing her job - she works for her dad!! Not super likely she'd loose her job. They should have both been more honest in discussing finances right away. It's delusional to avoid the topic when you clearly have strong views on it
“Life is pretty boring but I like it that way.” I resonate soooo much with this ❤ I enjoyed this more than other episodes 😊 both of you together are great. Natalie is great too but can sometimes come across condescending with Deeps.
Good postcast. I did miss Natalie though, not gonna lie. I like Iyanna but i was lowkey sad i didnt get to hear Natalie's perspective on the final episode & reunion. Not sure when this podcast was recorded but i feel like so much info has came out since. I listened to a lot of the S5 cast interviews and they give so much insight! I hope Natalie decides to do her own recap!
I feel Deepti on the colouring thing. These types of tasks that are meant to relax usually cause me more anxiety due to my perfectionism and the need to do it a certain way or it feel a certain way or be a certain way.
I love Iyanna and would love to see her on a podcast. Thank you Deepti for clearing up the Aaliyah comment. Because, Aaliyah did not always stand up for herself throughout the process of LIB. But, I give some grace to Iyanna who just recently finished watching the season.
I'm pretty sure that Stacy did mention all the things Johnny said at the reunion. I was surprised you didn't mention that Izzy and Johnny made out too. That was weird to me. But I think everyone was drunk a lot of the time. I think they ply people with alcohol to create more drama and more mess. It might be a bit patronizing to Lydia to call her Milton's wifey. I don't blame Lydia for not wanting to answer to accusations that were clearly manipulations of the producers of the show. They forced her not to reveal her past with Uche and they forced her not to share it. Once she was able to, she tried to warn her friend about Uche. Uche did not come across as a good partner and perhaps Lydia was trying to warn her friend about that. I thought Lydia was supportive and kind during the show. She just got painted badly in the show. I truly hope that Lydia finds love and happiness.
Johnie said in a podcast that the not hot statement was out of context or something. She explained it really well what she said wasn’t what Stacy actually heard. I’m so team johnie haha so I’m bias
Gilet Slays interview with Johnnie was super enlightening… Johnnie explained the context of a lot of things… Johnnie said she thought Izzy chose Stacy because he found out she was blonde. When Taylor was asked about what was actually said, Taylor said she didn’t remember and maybe Johnnie was remembering correctly. I think it was a game of telephone and Stacy got told something Johnnie didn’t actually say.
Aaliyah said that she did explain to Milton that he was invalidating her experience but it was edited out. Also Milton said he never talked to Uche for hours. That was a group chat and he doctored the pic to make it look like it was a call between him and Uche . Uche is truly…something 🫠🫠🫠
Loved this episode and the energy. Iyanna is hilarious and I also have to say that I missed Natalie’s input! I hope you can include Iyanna more in the future ❤
Loved this podcast! Iyanna, your personality is everything! Deepti, your perspective was so balanced and appreciated. As far as Milton and Lydia go, I think they have a possibility of making it but there are some unresolved issues. The way Lydia treated Aliyah and went on in interviews to turn it around and say that they couldn’t be friends because Aliyah wasn’t who she thought she was, even after Aliyah gave her so much grace, told me all I need to know about Lydia. I always look at how someone treats their so-called enemies. If Lydia can’t take accountability it will remain an unresolved conflict in their relationship. And if Milton stays in denial, that will be problematic.
Thank you! Nothing about him is "mature" or wise beyond his years as people like to purport. He seems more so passive aggressive or stoic to me, acting like people's comments don't get under his skin. And he's apathetic to other people's emotions, just tells everyone it's not that deep. Just because you were raised to ignore your feelings doesn't mean it's the right way to be.
What is funny about Shake on HOV is how clear it is that he is out of his league. As a viewer, I thought I felt satisfied following Deepti's example of forgiveness but every moment he was on the screen the little devil on my shoulder(w/popcorn) was saying Revenge for Deeptii!! There was a bit of immature playground justice in all of us watching, ' You wanted to act like a villain on LIB, now let's see how you fare in a real house of villains.' Needless to say, I think I can almost see the tail Shake has grown to put in between his legs. Wishing both of you Iyanna and Deepti the best.
1: love you both. 2: If Johnnie really said Izzy wouldn't be happy with Stacey because she isn't pretty/hot... she literally had no idea what he looked like...could have been a straight up toad. Wild.
Its 8pm am cleaning the kitchen and listening to this and Iyanna girrrrrrl you made me laugh so loud ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thanks i needed this laugh after long day with kids ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Njoyed this over on Spotify but wanted to comment. Deepti way more fiesty with iyana present then with Natalie. More opinionated. Loved that for you. More of this please. Also iyana was great, very funny and dry. Love Natalie too. Ps no 3-way please as it will just be you guys laughing 😂
What I'm noticing is that whatever a cast member says after the show, people take as gospel. We're not getting the full truth, we're getting the self-edits that best position that person. Uche says that Lydia followed him in. Okay, but is it true? Stacey says Johnie said horrible things. Okay, but how would Johnie tell the story? Stacey says a lot of things, and everything she says always paints the other person in the worst possible light.
I wish Natalie was there , I miss her objective different perspective. Loved Iyanna, i could be like please please be my friend ...iyanna some shades of my personality ..would love to have a chat woth you ..fyi im an indian ❤Deepti, you know im rooting for you There is something about Natalies analysis, i feel it comes from her Management Consultant role ..i guess.. You three should do such podcast where you three analyse characters ?I have so much tp say , will give my take some day ❤
LYDIA & MILTON DIDN'T EVEN REVEAL THAT THEY HAVE A LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP THO !!!! Like no wonder he's picked up the towel 3 times...he lives in Long Beach California 😭😭😭
I am so glad I found this site! I have been married for 33 years and watching Love Is Blind is just crazy! My kids are your age and I think I just need to immerse myself in other people’s drama. My favorite was Izzy, he just loves so hard and so fast, he reminds me of my son and Izzy’s momma. His momma reminds me of myself. Lydia is a mother figure to Milton! I just didn’t like anyone like I like you all here! Anyway, thanks again for the recap, I truly love you all! 🥰
1. Love Iyanna 2. I would put money on the fact that I think JP was intimidated by Taylor’s beauty when she was wearing makeup and felt she was out of his league. I think he didn’t know how to talk to someone like her and never would have approached her in public because of her beauty. I think her without makeup felt more approachable to him. Ultimately, I think that he let his own lack of self confidence sabotage his relationship and pushed her away before she could reject him.
I just love you Deepti (you remind me of myself so much in always giving others the benefit of the doubt) and the dynamic of the two of you together has me dying in giggles, so spot on!! Can Iyanna join the podcast permanently too? I love the 3rd perspective on things, she is so emotionally mature... I just learned a thing or two about my own self... applause ladies! applause. Miss Natalies skeptisism though, we need all 3!!
Lyanna, I believed you missed something with Aaliya, we women needed to know our worth, Aaliya ignored too many red flags before she stood up for herself. Two is too much and it is much more than two red flags.
Don't tell me you girls don't know that Uche was lying about Milton called him, Uche is such a liar. Milton talked about him in an interview concerning that same calling, he, Uche is a real big stalker he needed to leave the couple alone.
Are all the seasons aired a year and half later? That’s along time to hide a marriage if they do get married. Great episode! Love Iyanna! ❤ Love all three of you! ❤
Yes majority of reality TV shows are filmed a 1-1.5 in advance same as the bachelor etc. I can't imagine hiding a part of me for so long but technically they are out in the open we just don't know of them yet. They filmed multiple seasons at the same time.
I felt weird how Izzy and johnnie got back together for some toungue karate . He was so mad at Johnnie the whole show long and it made me feel like he wanted her, like why couldn’t he move past her ?
Two suggestions. One Deepti try knitting. It’s hard at first but so relaxing after. Two, can you make an episode about your best couples and worst couples list from all season? Maybe include who would have made a good couple if they matched.
Wait are those the Uche screenshots that were tailored? It was supposed to be originally a call to the guys group chat and not a one on one with Milton
