Marcus has been rocking his do-rag since the Pendulum Wars and depending on how the story pans out I hope we see a Judgement reference of some kind because Marcus was at Halvo Bay and was saved by Baird when he dropped the bomb. At most, I hope we see a cutscene of that moment or hear it from radio chatter or gears talking about the trial of Kilo squad.
Including that and some other shoutouts to GoWJ would be sick! Really hoping they bring back Overrun and Master at Arms. I actually think that the GoWJ campaign is one of the best in the franchise.
I just hope they make it terrifying and hopeless. Thats what gears of war is all about. Being on your own with no help and that chilling theme tune. Bring it on.
0:50 Marcus has been wearing the do-rag ever since he learned he was allowed to the moment he enlisted LOL. In the Aspho Fields book he says read that they were allowed so he instantly got one
I'll bet we'll see the invention of the Lancer we ALL KNOW AND LOVE, and the events that lead up to Marcus' arrest, and dismissal from the COG Army, and his imprisonment in The Slab.
For number 6, I had this fan theory in my head for a while now as to why something’s in gears of war are old school like that tv. In a world where there chainsaw guns, holograms, invisibility tech (talking about jack when he goes invisible), and the hammer of dawn, they also have some things that are old school, like that tv, news papers, film cameras, the landline phones. I’m thinking because of the pendulum wars technology for the civilians slowly developed than military technology. It makes sense because in a war why would you devote time and recourses into upgrading the plasma tv to a flat screen LED tv. You would want to constantly upgrade the military tech to win the war and besides the plasma tv works perfectly fine already so why change it. This is my head canon as to why the military has high tech stuff of the future while the people are living with 70s-80s technology And they already have like flat screen monitors because of jack in gears 2 having the video screen This something that I want to see more about, more of the civilian life of the pendulum wars, whether it be comics, books, games, and etc.
The locusts are just more evolved humans but yeah I’m glad they captured the locusts strength and are going according the lore the average drone would be absolute hell to fight up close even for big characters like tai Cole Marcus Clayton and I hope all these things transfer into multiplayer too but I believe they can move 800+ easily and stand taller than 6’5 they are beefy bois lmao also the lancer chainsaw will make it because in the comics it was brought about when tai killed a drone with a chainsaw or some variant of a chainsaw at an armory and this somehow gets to Adam fenix through either tai or Marcus
I just hope they add weight with the armor they should move like they are wearing 100lbs of armor they are meant to be sluggish lol the fact a drone can life a human with that armour lol it's probably a special coated osisum metal titanium light bt still need a good thickness
If they got creative with the chainsaw that would be neat! Would love to see it. Maybe the Mark 2 Lancer built by Adam Fenix is going to be in this game’s sequel, since as of now it’s the first chainsaw mounted lancer used by the COG we know of!
You should really read the books. They answer so many of the things you assume or mention. Also theyre not telling the origin of their bond, theyve been aroound eachother since they were kids. Its statements like that, that make me worried. They need to respect the lore if theyre gonna try to add to it. That was the biggest issue of gears 4 and 5.
Sticking to the OG stuff will always benefit them- hopefully they do. I actually got into the Halo books when I was in school- they were great reads. Any recommendation for a starting point for the Gears of War books?
@@Rorshaq Aspho Fields would be the first one. They all are told in 2 different time periods, but Aspho covers some time in-between gears 1 and 2, and Marcus/Dom's early life into being a Corporal (might make Sergeant at the end I don't fully remember) during the Pendulum Wars. If you liked the Halo books you'll like the Gears ones, same main author.
Carlos Santiago (Dom’s Brother) dies during the assault on aspho… He was there with Marcus in the 26th RTI… that should if memory doesnt fail me… 2-2.5 years before E-Day… Dom and Marcus were bonded since they were kids… he was an honorary Santiago… spent more time at Dom and Carlos house than his own
Retro lancer didnt appear till after gears 3 but the locusts have that shit and we're getting an origin story about the lacer and tai . The stuff w tai cool that retro lancer crap gtfo 😂
I don't kno wat scar on Marcus face ur referring to but if ur talking about his most iconic scar he got dat from prison in a fight with some dogs according to da lore
I will be playing gears of war E day, the first ever gears game that I have played is gears of war four so it kind of holds a special place in my heart I do like the older installments, but since I played gears of war4 as my first gears game that I have played it holds a special place in my heart and gears five is all right like it’s not bad but it’s not mid. It’s good but the story is confusing, but I am replaying gears of war2 and I am having fun. It will occasionally crash though I am still having fun.
The novels that bridge each game answer a lot of the things you're guessing at. Dom's brother dies just before the Pendulum Wars end, before E-Day and Tai was the inspiration for the chainsaw on the lancer after using a chainsaw on a grub in a fight and then Marcus recommends that his father try to work that into their weaponry since they can cut through the tough hide of the grubs.
While you’re correct about Tai and the lancer, we cannot assume the timeline of Gears of War: E-Day yet. The Coalition stated that this game is going to take place over multiple days. For all we know, there could be a part of this game that actually shows the ending of the Pendulum Wars since they end so close to E-Day. This means that Carlos Santiago could be alive when this game begins. The chainsaw lancer could be constructed in this game (hopefully), but this game’s campaign also could end before the chainsaw lancer is actually built. Glad to see you read the novels!
Not suggesting they are rewriting. I am only saying it’s possible that they include these things in the game somehow. The natural story allows for it. They could easily include both in the game and not break canon. Just would have to show some stuff before and after E-Day, which they totally can do.
@@Rorshaq there's no way with a title of E-Day, the game should have a "1 year later" time skip just to give us the chainsaw bayonet. And that's when Adam Fenix started working on the prototype of the Mk2 Lancer. Realistically probably 2-3 years for mass production of the weapon into COG hands. It can chill in Multiplayer, sure. But it should not be in the campaign. Part of the reason E-Day was so scary is no one (apart from Adam) knew what was going on. No one had the tools to fight the Locust properly. A campaign over a few days should not have us getting the best tools for the job.
