This made me come out of an anxiety attack that I thought was going to kill me...I'm not lying. Just discovered this song today. I live under a rock. Laying down recovering nicely. Thanks 311
I hope you're still doing well and remembering not to ever give up. suffering is a state of mind. not reality. life's full of storms and rainbows, and you need a storm before theres a rainbow. stay well and know that you matter.
I remember that feeling the first time I heard their music. Their music and groove … it is truly like a life-bettering drug - the first time gets you the highest but you feel so good when it’s passing through your ears that you can’t help yourself. And will always keep coming back for another dose for the rest of your life!
@@Nomad-yn7pv life happens Right? I'll be 45 this yr. too. My little bro loved 311, so do I, he left this rock eight months ago today. Fuckin miss the hell out of him. I like to listen to music he liked and think about him. The last concert we went to together was 311. Peace and you Go!
@@cmfp7894 Use 311 and music in general to stay close to him the rest of your life. Like you, music keeps me connected to many bygone memories that I wish I could relive but sometimes we can't cross that river. Music is our bridge. You'll see your bro again.
Welcome July 2024! May you be a blessed month for all of us to celebrate and enjoy. But mostly, to celebrate every second of this blessed wonderful month! ❤
I just returned my 5 year old son to his mother in AZ. But I picked up my boy on July 1st. for two weeks and this was his favorite song. The song is bitter sweet for me, but Im glad I played it for him.
Welcome July 2020! May you bring us a peaceful month without another disaster! Be safe all who reads this, and enjoy this beautiful month as time flies by...
Why would you want that? Life is measured in experience. And experience is measured in the hard times. Nobody ever tells stories of the time they got an awesome latte from Starbucks.
Turning 50 this year, and I still love 'em. BTW, we're not boomers; we're proud Gen X'ers, dude! Nice to be growing old with Nick, et al; I wouldn't have it any other way. Age is a state of mind, so I'm still a 20-something who is just smarter now. Greatest band!!
+FRESH BASTERD ...Yes. but Where's The Lisa Frank neon/translucent folder covers too?? We've gotta have the rainbow leopards, warm-colored dolphins, and unicorns everywhere-!
As we close out this July of 2023, I sincerely hope life has treated you well & that your Sunsets in July were beautiful. Until next year, happy July sunsets, everyone!
This song expresses how fun things pass so quickly, but yet we shouldn't dwell on the negative aspects of situations. I think that's what this song is really about. About having fun and taking it in and enjoying what you have to the full extent without worrying about when it will or could end. There are many great/fun things in life that are just waiting to be discovered. Just because the "sun sets" doesn't mean it wont ever rise again.
Mom, passed just after I posted comment 2 years ago. We just buried my eldest sister Vickie yesterday. Cancer is an evil beast. Time is flying by, and forever arrives in the blink of an eye. 💙💔😔
Let's go!!! 4th of July!!! 40yds old and they are the best!!!!. Thank you 311 for all your music. I can remember at 8 going to get the blue album cd for my birthday. The one band that has lasted the test of time and still killing it , I love yall!!! Let's go!!!
There just isn't any band out there that can compare to 311. I just looooooooove these guys. Completely awesome live, their stuff just continues to amaze me record after record. This is one of my favs!
July 31, 2022 and I almost forgot to play this song this summer. 311 just heal your hurts in a way no other music can. They've definitely got lightning in a bottle and it's still pouring out after over 30 years!
I think this is their autobiography song. Standing on stage watching people getting off to you're songs and being happy from the music you made. That is the ultimate high man!
My 1st 311 show was in 1995, and I've been to 74 live shows of theirs since then, hoping to make it to see them next Sunday here in S FL! from Omaha Stylee to Lovesong, they are my favs ever!
I loved this album and song so much when it released… i was dancing and having the time of my life.. it was getting me high… my time was flying by… but it only hit me for the emotions I had felt that to that point. … mostly I wasn’t a mother then, though. After having a child of my Own and watching him grow and dance and enjoy all life’s experiences… the lyrics hit me like a truck. “Time is sliding, time is sliding on, hear what I say, whoa! Back-up, back-up, you need that, need that. Space & time and time & space is my way - if I’m forever in existence, I’m forever okay!” I feel it now, when I’m gone… my son will be here (hopefully) and his children and then I’ll have achieved the one true way to live forever - through each of them over and over. “Watching you dancing and having the time of your life, and it’s getting me high” because his innocence and pure joy for life itself is the highest of all highs. Life is cool, man. I love 311
Been listening to these guys for many years now and all I can say is they keep blowin my mind every time they release a new album...they keep takin' the vocal and musical arrangements to new levels......... guess thats why they will always have a huge following!!!!!
"Watchin you dancin and havin the time of your life." This song makes me think of my daughter and how time is flyin by! So good it makes me wanna cry=)

They write so many songs for us. From the start way back on Music forwards they've focused on stuff that works live and lyrics either thanking us the fans or that can turn a crowd into a community. I'm sure they've done alright financially but I'm glad they've nearly always stayed right under the line that separates the mainstream from the underground. Sure there was Down, a song literally thanking the fans that'd been there the whole time, but they were never a household name and I think that's perfect for them, and us. I've been to sixteen shows and you're never gonna see people who stick around for a single song then leave or stand around waiting for that song. We're all plugged into everything they play every show. We're all getting up there and it blows that one day this will be over but man the ride was great. We're not dead yet though. We've still got a few years of rocking out left.
they are connected to the higher field.. they've been telling us, showing us all along their ride.. or is it a "HEX" on us... Only Nick and the band know if this is all unique from them or otherly.. I don't care how they do it, it moves my soul and eventually my body follows too
311 was my personal soundtrack on my mail route when I was living and working in Orlando, Florida, in 2018. The sunrises, the sunsets, the lakes, the palm trees. Just the scenes, man. Well, anyway, I left that job, and that city for what I thought was a better opportunity back home in New York. Five years later, I regret it every single day. Every once in a while, I put this song on and try to meditate myself back into that place and time.
This is probably my favorite song of all time. It just gives me a melancholy feeling. It makes me want to cry or smile, depending on how I feel. There are songs that make you say “damn! That’s really good!” Or “wow. That’s beautiful.” This is a beautiful song. I just want to say thank you 311 for making such amazing music. Love u all ❤️
I love 311's summer vibes in the majority of their songs and albums, how awsome would it be if they directed an album more so towards the feeling of autumn/winter??
These guys rock put when they get fo they ever Blast it " total feel good tune 311 happy vibes really bring out some of the most infuletial and exotic sounds of all time " you stirr 311 with its to vocalist and you have one punch reggae / rock band! 🎸 " i hope these 311 continue to record and tour! Happy 51st birthday Guitar player, Nicholas Lofton Hexum April 12, 1970. Madison, Wisconsin. Played in the Jazz band in a Nebraska high school. And made it big. Lesson learned. Big things come from small beginnings.
I just heard this song for the first time last week and am hooked! I feel like I go through withdrawal if I don't hear it at least once a day :-) GREAT TUNE!!

Here we are in the last day of July 2021 and the month flew by so quickly that the month felt as if it were a week. Another reminder to slow down and enjoy the second and to celebrate the gift of life we have. Time is flying by... Also, sadly, tonight, July 31, 2021 will be John Garabedian's last broadcast on Saturday nights on his new internet music station (he was the founder/creator/DJ of the old Open House Party). This song will walk with him in memory of many great Saturday nights through the years.
Here is a nostalgic ditty for ya. While it came out in the summer I listened to it clear into the fall, the first year moving out of my mommas house. I always look back on the past fondly, and my memories are painted bright. Though, in reality I'm far better now than I've been even if it seems like I'm playing catch up. I'm happy to be here, bring it on. This is for my close knit crew who jammed this with me that era. Love you guys.
Heading to south Walton Florida last week of July......this will be blasting in my headphones while watching the sunset go down in the Gulf while lying on the sugar white sand!
Can't wait for the drive in concert in Phoenix AZ......even during this pandemic, I still needs me my 311!!!! Thanks 311. Your Oldest Fan, Ida Marie Hendricks
Chill bumps every time...after all these years its still 311. I wish I could personally thank you guys for the positive impact you have always had, and continue to have on so many peoples lives.
