This video briefly shows how to setup and use the NanoVNA to sweep an antenna system (antenna, transmission line, transmatch, etc.) to measure its VSWR, Reflection Coefficient, etc., and then shows how you can use it to monitor the tuning behavior as you make adjustments. The basic steps include:
- Setting the traces that you want to display (SWR, Smith, S11)
- Setting the frequency range
- Running a Calibration
- Making the sweep
- Using Markers
Please see my previous videos on the VNA, Smith Chart, Transmission Lines, Terminations, etc. for more background.

From what I see in the comments and having bought one myself. The folks who sell this VNA should as least pay you as an instructor if not for the boost in their sales. Thanks for another set of helpful insights in both using this device and our equipment.

The only complaint I have about it is the the manufacturer hasn't provided more detailed instructions for it's use. A lot of the purchasers are NOT engineers. A lot of ham radio operators are buying these. Some are engineers and some are not. I think a professional engineer would get the hang of it pretty quickly. The rest of us need a bit more help.

Bill-N6EF-Thanks for a another great NanoVNA video. I'm learning a lot about the NanoVNA from your videos. I went with the NanoVNA-H4. The NanoVNA-F has a similar sized screen but in a metal case (nice). There is a new v2 that is just coming out now that goes to 3GHz. Firmware is a little behind the original (doesn't interpolate between calibration points - thus you have to calibrate with every frequency setting change - good practice to get into, although this forces you to do it).

Just brought one of these and to say mind boggled is an understatement! Brought it to check the SWR and tune my loading coils on my Diamond CP6S - at least I know sort of where to start as never used one of these before - always adjusted, gone back to the radio and checked the SWR - just trying to work out how to connect the PL259 to it! It’s one of those small adaptors that came with it... I hope!
@w2aew

It likely did not come with an adaptor for PL259 - you'll have to pick one up yourself. The bits it came with are likely the Open/Short/Load and Thru devices that you use in the calibration process.
