You can SHUT UP about that .010 and .014 lights. Those were solid and could have beat 99.9% of the world that was footbraking on that day in the World. Congratulations on your win in our Duster. It Doesn’t take Bret Miller Heads, and it doesn’t take a blower. It takes a sharp tuner and Driver behind the wheel! 🏅
Thanks Joe, but I wasn't in a Van .. .Ha! I was thrilled that the low dollar 318 brought home 13's and a trophy on it's way out. I abused it, and it kept coming back for more... LOL
Great day! Looks like you had fun. Hope if you want to do more of that next year your afforded the opportunity. If you do I think we all hope you bring us along! If you don’t that’s ok too because we all know how it is. Hay winner! Thanks for making that 318 run! We loved it!
Low dollar budget 318 is what im working with now. You are a hero among us little folk. If i won a trophy i would hang it around my neck a wear it lol.
Great job on the tree that alone goes a long way towards turning on win lights. I'm curious you made it sound like with the comment Grand Finale like your getting rid of the car or something is that your plan?
Well, the 318 will be replaced "if" I keep the car. So, the low-dollar 318 won't run again at the track in this car (at least that is our plan for now)
Great driving!! You're the man! I used to ET / bracket race but with a bike. Your reaction times are killer and to run that consistent isn't easy either. You've inspired me. My daughter is the new proud owner of a 74 Dart with a 318 2bbl. All I've ever owned are big block Mopars and have been struggling with the new project. After watching you, the 318 is staying in the car. Congratulations! Cool trophy too!
Congrats, man! Going high 13s/low 14s with 3.55 gears and street tires and a low buck 318 is great! It wouldn't take much to get it into the low 13s/high 12s just with lower gears and slicks.
Tim for a 318 stock that is great, thats all I did in my big block the first time I went to the track it should be better now however I was thinking in the low 15's for you yet you did great Tim nice job sir, God bless brother
Congratulations! What a way to put the 318 out to pasture! Going out on a win. I'm about to pull my 318 out of my duster. I'm not entirely sure what will be replacing it.
Outstanding, Tim I love what you do. Taking something that most guys don’t even think about and making it preform to its best capabilities. You were missed at the NNN. My buddy brought a van and specially wanted to meet you and your wife.
Nothing like a 318 to nock the dust of . No you didn’t get lucky it’s Ma Mopar 318 legend of a motor that did it for you and your great understanding of the 318 . All the best to you and your family for showing the world 🌍 how good a 318 can be 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.
I was given an old ‘77 cast 318 engine, it needs to be rebuilt, it had probably 5-6 gallons of rainwater in it. But it does turn over freely. I want to build it pretty much exactly like you have yours, completely stock, little head work, maybe a cam.
Love those traction bars. Because you did a video on them (awhile back) I dug mine out from the 70’s and put them on my Demon. Time for a winters nap 👍
CONGRATS on the win! Proves the old adage that you don't need high performance parts, just parts that work well together! Thank you for representing the low-buck mopar or whatever-you-have guys. Take care, and don't celebrate too hard! Lol...
Yeah those things ran good back in the day with like 4.11's and a dual exhaust, even with the 2 bbl. Even the 318 in my 2001 Dodge ram pickup is plenty of power for anything I want to do, and I live in upstate Pa.
@@318willrun Yeah a 14 is doing great for what that thing is. Definitely punching above its weight class. I didn't catch what ratio you are running? Where is the cam timing, straight up or advanced?
@@318willrun And that is like a 76 8.5 to 1 smog engine? Is the cam stock? A few years back I was dating a woman from a drag racing family, and everything was really high dollar. It kind of turned me off. Nobody was really building their own stuff or trying their own ideas. Sure the stuff was fast, but it just wasn't for me
@@joecummings1260 Yep, anyone can build a fast car with unlimited budgets. It is the ones that build their cars on a budget with mostly factory parts and using your your smarts is what impress me.
Hey Tim . Nicks garage has a alsome blue duster in his shop this week on his channel I reckon you will love it yes it’s a factory 340 but worth a look it could be your cousin car 🙀😂. 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.
Congrats on your win and you talk about a tough competitor, I wouldn't want to race you for any amount of money because you are very hard to beat especially running such a simple setup. You run for the top slot when you race more times then not. So who's the real tough competitor here ? 💪😁 #318didandwillrunhard# #watchoutforthisguyhesawinner#
"318didandwillrunhard" ..... 👍😎 I like it and the engine has been flawless for all the years of pounding we have given it. As of me, I'm not good, I just get lucky now and then and you know what they say..... "It's better to be lucky than good" !!! 😅
Thank you for proving what most of us know ..that post 71 low compression "smog" motors don't require mega race rebuilds to make muscle level performance. Love pre 72 stuff but too many zealots dismiss all else. Two thumbs up.
Maybe you can help me.. I need a rear brake drum for my 68 d300. It's a dually but I don't know if that matters. Do you know of any salvage places that specialize in early parts? Thank you
@@318willrun OK, thanks. When I lived up there we went to Great Lakes dragway in Wisconsin. Watched Grand Spaulding cars, Many superstock Dodges & Plymouths, Arnie Beswick, Tasca Ford, Chris Karmasines (sp), Art Arfons & others. But that was a loong time ago.
Wait a minute did he just unloaded a car from a trailer to hit 13.9sec? 😂 Bro just hit up justmoparjoe he has 500hp+ engines laying all over his house, like Legos.
