@sanyrub ...i'm not sure how to read steve & annie's characters. jackson's decisions/choices are right for jackson, and steve's are the right ones for steve....it's almost like the writers are having steve say to jackson, look at all these things you have to look forward to--but you'd never do them anyway. so i think on some level, steve's character almost reinforces jackson's decision =/

i was really hard to understand today's episode i usually don't have a problem understanding them

@patroclus33 That's not entirely true, and yes, I have experienced a traumatic event in my life. Sometimes it all hits you in a rush so hard that you're gasping for breath. The fact that she's slowly realizing that he will be gone after she kills him is silly. It's as if she were going to smother him with a pillow and expect to have breakfast with him the next day.

@erzan doctors can use electric stimulation in order to 'collect' - sounds painful but he wouldn't feel anything.

Anyone in the real world would have called in the authorities... experts in suicide prevention. I can't see how these two will not be prosecuted for facilitating Jackson's death. A catastrophic tragedy unfolding for all involved.

Why are they dragging this out? It's neither dramatic or emotional.

Ok now I see nobody has room to complain about Emmerdale not showing social services, or sending a wrong message to the audience (which was bullshit anyway) cos they are showing the audience the other type of person who suffers this situation completely doing his life, even having a baby. They shut mouths up, didn´t they?:) Only complaints left are those saying "kill him already" or "why do they drag this?". Of course coming from sensitive, openminded and quality-lovers people *sarcasm mode*

I´m not happy to accept the missery, in fact it affects me big way and felt depressed many times with this story, so what? You really don´t get what tv is about. Employers said that and at the same time give praises to the storyline, yes, what is it that you don´t get? It´s so tragic but well done. Can´t you get it? @rkthurston con): I only asked u one thing: why the hell are you here? It doesn´t make sense at this point. Can´t u see it? Plus you haven´t seen the complete story yet and I don´t want to give spoilers. Plus if the show wants to kill their character the way they want, they can and you dea. As long as they make it brilliantly as they usually do on this atoryline. Didn´t u see all the awards and nomination and expert praises? Plus we have already brought real cases where this happens. It´s tiring

Things sometimes still do work down there you know... She just sort of has to sit on him and then go up and down, you get the picture well hopefully + you don't know where he is paralysed...

@3581monique Thank u! :) But you were looking down on the show, not accepting the debate you yourself just accepted they want to create. You were talking shit about a brave storyline, not taking a side among the possibilities the debate offers, which with I would be fine despite not agreeing. But hating for weeks towards a serious enough and brave work is what has finally got on my nerves. Do u see the difference? And yes once more: there´s lack of affection. Are u happy now? I see the flaws too

Jackson's resolve to die seems to be too firm. The story never showed us in any way that he properly gave living a chance after this accident. I know that people sink into depression and can be suicidal but Jackson is the one that seemed so shocked at Aaron's own attempt way back. It just seems to me that there should at least be a lot more conflict in him in terms of choosing to live or die.

I don't think they will kill off Jackson. They will drag off the story. It makes no sense to give so much hope with Aaron confessing his love and bringing on the other character who has the same disability living a healthy life. I would love for them to kill him off, like 10 episodes ago but the writers are going to milk this story line until they find another creative way to showcase the Aaron and Jackson story line. Clearly, there out of ideas and that's why they have been focusing on sucide

So, how did Steve produce the sperm if he can't move *anything*? I'm so confused.

@patroclus33 This is a soap after all. These 3 people didn´t want help from social services (well Hazel and Aaron wish 'they' could want it if u know what I mean) and SS can´t do anything about it. There are no minors here. It has been brief but they have showed it. It´s not the point of the storyline. They are handling enough stuff and detalis from many points of view, specially these 3 people feelings and past whole year´s events. About Steve, at first he was barely shown but now they have

And among the soaps I watch it is the most realistic. I know anybody who gets help probably is going to get better but they are explaining their story, this particular story they wanted to show, which also happens in real life even if it´s not the usual case. The actor who plays Steve is Andy Walker, and he's quadriplegic in real life. As much as Emmerdale tries to portray how positive Steve's life is, I feel that Jackson's unending negativity is so overpowering. It started from the moment of the accident and within months Jackson is already at the stage of euthanasia. The writers seem to be endorsing the view that life is not worth living when you become disabled. I don't think it's the right message to send, and they shouldn't have chosen this 'plot device' to write off a character.

Any normal person can see this show has great actors and amazing storylines like most of British soaps and the other ones you mentioned live basically cos of the sweetness and liptick on actors faces. I enjoy those shows but this or ant other British are better. Deal with it.
