Love your work and the ingenuity of summarising these books in a succinct, simple and absorbable manner. The ones who will read all these books will have daily implementable solutions, elevated consciousness and systems of enhanced life. The others who just hear this will post on social media, talk to their friends, get their feeling of importance of appearing knowledgeable - validation cycle. You read a book not that you go through it, you read it so the book can go through you. This in some ways what you say Mark, the biggest enemy to progress is the idea of it.

This is SO good. No we shouldn’t just read the books unless the main topics resonate with you. If they don’t then you won’t ACT on them. Most books are filled with FLUFF and stories to drive home the main points. This video imo is a great jumping off point for any of these books that sparks your interests. I’ve read or listened to many of these books and you’d be surprised how well you can boil a book down to its essentials in a minute or less. Also 90% of people do NOT finish a book they’ve started. Bravo. Great video.

How to Win Friends and Influence People, was an absolute joy to read. It's really useful, but the 'dated' language usage felt like I was watching a movie. My favorite quote from the book is also a joke. 'Mark Twain lost his temper occasionally and wrote letters that turned the paper brown. For example, he once wrote to a man who had aroused his ire: ‘The thing for you is a burial permit. You have only to speak and I will see that you get it.’ This is the kind of humor I miss in today's world. Pure genius.

@@jareds5249 exactly. There is so much ideas Mark could do with the books for the engagement (sliding, motion effects etc) but throwing them, pretending not to care...it disregards the entire point of the video - I don't know, these books are the type of knowledge you want to have on you bookshelf without damaged edges (reckless)

Hi Mark, thanks for the recommendations, added quite a few to my list of books to read. And I was wondering what your opinion is on Robert Greene's books. I am just getting into them, and from their reputation, they seem pretty fucking powerful (to the point that "the 48 laws of power" is banned from US prisons), and was expecting to see one here. So I was wondering is there a reason for this?

Some books spend entire chapters using analogy after analogy to beat home a point that they achieved in a couple sentences the first time around. When im trying to pull the big points from something (esp like atomic habits, which i have read), summaries are great. Read it all if you want to dig in deeper.

I selected this video while in my commute so I didn’t realize it was from the author of one of my favorite books. So the last part made me feel like when you had a conversation with someone for a while and at some point you realize: wow it’s actually you!! Great video though! At least I’ve read 12 of them. Thanks for this guide.
