Name: Laxmi Vilas Palace Location: Vadodera, Gujarat, India  The Laxmi Vilas Palace is a majestic historic palace and important landmark located in Vadodera, Gujarat, India.  The palace was built in 19th Century by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, who ruled from 1875 to 1939.  Construction began in 1878 and took several years to complete, finally finishing in 1890.  The palace architectural style is a blend of Indo-Saracenic, Hindu, and European influences, reflecting the tastes and cultural amalgamation of the time.  Laxmi Vilas Palace is one of the largest private residences in the world, covering an area of over 700 acres.  The Gaekwads were prominent rulers of Vadodara and played a significant role in the history of Gujarat and India during the British Raj.  Palace had been used in various films; Prem Rog (1982); Dil Hi Toh Hai (1993); Grand Masti (2013); Sardaar Gabbar Singh (2016); Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023)  Laxmi Vilas Palace stands as a testament to the wealth, power, and cultural heritage of the Gaekwads in Vadodara and Gujarat's history.  Today, parts of Laxmi Vilas Palace are open to the public as a museum, showcasing the royal history, lifestyle, and artifacts of the Gaekwad dynasty.
