Great run! I wonder why this version stops incrementing the level after 31. Such an oddball choice. I do notice the sudden increase at level 29 which is infamous on the Nintendo NES version. Never got past level 22 on this SNES version. I have also noticed that given the music in this version, Nintendo may have wanted to make a version of Tetris that is more faithful to the Game Boy variant rather than their NES one.
Hm...this build strategy is different from what I've seen elsewhere on RU-vid. A lot of the other videos I've seen show people trying to score as many consecutive Tetrises as possible, going so far as to ignore I blocks that they could use if they can build an even higher wall that will allow them to score more Tetrises later. You cash out the lines a lot faster and sometimes skip potential Tetrises (it's closer to how I might play Tetris but possibly even more conservative).
Well I found out since my last post that I have a fake, because I found about 30 to 45 flaws and got a real copy and mine now does not go past lvl 30 and 353 lines
@tetris295 I see. I have plenty troubles with both tetris games. Also, I have Tengen Tetris for NES... is that a bad thing (such as a port?) or was that just a remake of tetris on another older system? It's a ROM so Iunno o.o
I never actually gotten 320 lines. This is a long turn. Good for you. However, I have beaten that score a lot of times. Highest was 629000. Highest with picture is 623, and video is 517 or 19. Can't remember.
spectre,i have a question- have u ever thought of getting like or a ps3 or a 360 or any modern game gadget and do new records or what you want to do,or are you old school
@redeyedol True, but you're comparing a 32-bit processor to one millions of times faster. Although the number of processes may be more, modern computers are better equipped to handle the difference; the supercomputers of the 50's all used machine-level code but are nowhere near as fast as computers today. The best way to tell the difference is with Tetris Attack - it's really obvious with TA. Someday I'll just record my loser ass playing both emulator and the real thing and post it on youtube.
Goal in this version of tetris is to make tetrises, not just clear lines and that is the only way to get scores above 700 k. If you just clear lines, you will always get above 300 lines but wont make good score which is indicator of good play.
