For my JK I had to get a 3" lift, flat fenders, axle gussets and truss, trim the pinch seam, rear gate reinforcement, and differential re-gear to run 37s. When I got my 2018 JLUR I did the 2" Mopar lift (which I also love) and went with 35" tires. I had 35s for 2 years before moving to 37s on the JLUR. On the JL with the stronger front axle, higher fenders, and 8 speed trans, the only modification I had to make for 37s was the Mopar 2" lift and the rear gate reinforcement (disclaimer, I also went with aftermarket wheels with an offset that wouldn’t require wheel spacers). You would think that 2" between a 35 and 37 wouldn’t make a difference but after having the 37s for a year now I can honestly say that the difference is night and day between them and the 35s. It looks so much better, rides so much better off-roading (not only ground clearance but the way it bumps against and rides over obstacles with the center of wheel an extra 1" up on the bump in the road or obstacle) and surprisingly didn’t have a noticeable loss of power or mpg going from 35 to 37. If I were to do it all over again with a JL and a Mopar lift, I would skip the 35s and go straight to 37s.

The 8-speed transmission really is a beast and doesn't every really seem to care about big 35-37+ in tires! Sounds like you have a awesome set up, Thanks for the view!

I loved my 18 JLUS with the Mopar lift and 35’s. I do some mild off roading and it always got me where I needed to go. Just upgraded to a 2021 JLUR. Can’t wait to modify this one! Good content. Keep it up.

I just ordered and then bought my first ever Jeep, a 2021 JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. I ordered mine on 11-30-2020 and it arrived at my local dealership on 02-12-2021. I then took delivery of the Jeep about a week and a half or so later on but didn’t do any paperwork and make things official until 03-01-2021. So far I am totally loving it but the only thing that I regret with my JLUR is that about 2 weeks after I ordered my JLUR, Jeep announced the release of the 392 V-8 Unlimited Rubicon. And then in June or July on this year they announced the release of the Extreme Recon package as well. Had I known anything about either of those options coming out I would have waited another 7 or 8 months before I would have ordered mine. But oh well. I really do like my Jeep a lot though. I did order mine with the 3.6 liter eTorque V-6 and 8 speed automatic transmission. Ironically, I actually live in Colorado now too, so the comments made in this video made me laugh. Once the stock 33’s start to west out I’ll then decide what lift to get, what size rims and tires to buy next and what gears to run if I end up needing to regear as well? I ordered mine with the steel bumper group and so far I have bought a Warn Zeon 12-S winch, Factor 55 Ultra Hook and other Factor 55 recovery accessories, a crap ton of KC Hilites Gravity 6 LED off road lights, and 3 Hi Lift jacks along with a ton of their recovery accessories too. I also went out and dropped about $2,500.00 on a bunch of high end, top quality tools. That purchase was long overdue too! I use to have a bunch of tools before but when my kids were younger and not responsible those tools slowly disappeared over the years. So now that my kids are all grown and are young, responsible adults I was finally able to buy more top quality tools all over again.

@@TylerPotter, thank you for doing the video. I enjoyed watching it. I’m coming from primarily using Toyota Tacoma’s as my main type of vehicle for off roading. I used to have a 1997 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 LX access cab. Just your basic 4x4. It had a 2.7 liter I-4 engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. That truck was insanely durable and reliable. I then bought a 2007 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road access cab. It had a 4.0 liter V-6 and 6 speed manual transmission but unlike my 97’ Tacoma, this one also had an electric locking rear differential which really added big time to the off road capabilities. But because the JL Unlimited Rubicons had both a locking front and rear differential and an electronic sway bar disconnect and was the best and most capable off roading vehicle from the factory in stock form and had the most aftermarket options available in addition to having the ability to lift them higher and for a lot less money, as well as numerous other options available that are only found on Jeep Wranglers, I felt it was time to finally get one. With me now living in Colorado too, I can’t wait to find and explore all of the off road trails out here. When I find out where all of them are at the fun is really going to begin then. Are there any specific things that you think I should add to or upgrade on my Jeep? Since it’s my first one and I just got it a few months back I’m still in that learning phase of the game in regards to having my JLUR.

I just ordered the 2022 392 Xtreme Recon 35-Inch Tire Package option for an additional $3,995 and this should give me 12.9-inch clearance. This is a factory option so I am under factory warranty. I will be driving it for work so I should be good to go.

Those Rockrail steps look nice, but they will give you trouble on the trail when rock crawling . . . they will surely hang up. Everything else looks great too! I went with 37s on my EcoDiesel Wrangler Rubicon, but I also went with a 4.5" lift. The 37s are a harsh ride on pavement, especially when hitting potholes/imperfections at speed but they shine when rock crawling . . .
@TylerPotter

I agree the steps function great for the road but could defiantly cause problems on the rocks. Sounds like a awesome EcoDiesel Rubicon you've got! Thanks for the view!
@darrenroos6408

My guess is that it is the 4.5" lift that is giving you the harsh ride more than the 37" tires.

Awesome video Dude Are those K02’s loud when driving? And are they difficult to balance? I was thinking of getting a set for my wrangler
@TylerPotter
@TylerPotter 2 года назад
The K02's are really not loud on the road compared to other off-road tires, we have had some issues in the last few years with balancing K02's for some reason. It seems like years ago they used to balance out with very little weight but the past few years have required more weight that past years. No clue if BFG is getting lazy with the manufacturing process but it is kind of unfortunate. You can still get them to balance and drive smooth most of the time though. Thanks for the view!

The lift for Mopar is $1495 plus installation if you aren't putting it on yourself. Plus the cost of the 5 tires. So definitely not 8k at least for a cool looking Jeep. Thanks for the view!

The 37's should clear fine on the street with your normal height fenders vs. the higher rubicon fenders. Though if you are off road and are flexing the suspension you might run into some tire rubbing issues. Thanks for the view!

Thinking between 35s and 37s with my diesel rubi(2022) and between a jks 2.5 or 3.5 with fox 2.0. Any thoughts/ideas? Im planning to weekend warrior it whenever i can with some cross country trips here and there, my daily commute it only about a 15 min drive rn(live in Colorado btw haha)
@TylerPotter
@TylerPotter 2 года назад
With the cross country driving in the possibility's I would almost lean to the 35's, the diesel would have the power for the 37's no problem but I think the 35's would be a better driving experience on the longer drives. Pending I was going with the 35's I would probably go with the 2.5in, I would be worried anything higher might make the 35's look small. Thanks for the view!

2021 Jeep JLU Rubicon with manual. The manual is much more sensitive to tire size. I am looking to add 5.13 gears so I can run 37's but even going to 35's is not a good idea with a manual trans. Just remember. A manual jeep is a real jeep!
@TylerPotter

I wish Jeep would have done something different with the manual transmission gearing to make them less sensitive to the larger tires, 35 and up just really suck the life out of the manuals without and re-gear. Thanks for the view!
