Grian 2018 Add an overhang! Increase the overhang by another block! Make sure to surround your roof with another overhang to really bring it to life! Surround the entire roof with a quartz layer overhang! stop making overhangs grian

basically knew everything already...from older grian videos teehee! but really i think its great you do "this is a possibility" videos instead of block by block tutorials, so people start to think creatively!!

If I had a Minecoin for every time Grian said "consider", I would have enough Minecoins to buy a new texture pack.

A small extra tip for flower pots: If you don't want to use grass blocks, overhangs, etc, get a fence, and put it underneath your window- and put a flower pot on top of it.

1. Raise house 2-4 blocks in the air to allow for landscaping. 2. Mix and match with different blocks for different segments of the house to visually break up the house and allow for eye-catching colour palettes. 3. Glass panes not glass blocks. 4. Use stained glass to homogenise window (use neighbouring colours for a subtle visual effect). 5. Use trapdoors next to windows to mimic shutters. 6. Decorate top of windows with stair indentations and/or overhangs. 7. Decorate bottom of window by using block of subtly different colour to the wall. 8. Add windowsills via either slabs or staircases. 9. Indent windows by one block using glass blocks to allow for better manipulation of its shape (using slabs and/or stairs). 10. Mix and match with roofs tiles using slabs and stairs and full blocks to create a more rustic, rugged appearance. 11. Use staircases in flat walls to create texture and depth. 12. Add a foundation to better ground your house to the environment. 13. Add an overhang to ANY roof. 14. Highlight overhang with a block of a contrasting colour to the roof to highlight the shape of your house. 15. Add further highlights by implementing an under-hang to your roof. 16. Add a flowerbed to bring some colour and greenery 17. Transform local terrain with podzol, flowers and leaves. 18. Creates crawling plants using fencing, leaves and veins to fill in space on more flatter, uninteresting walls. 19. Add features such a patio to bolster the scale of your build without having to add any significant infrastructure. 20. Create false grass using concrete powder and wool to add texture and intrigue to unassuming terrain. 21. Add a pergola using logs, signs and out campfires. 22. Add something realistic, such as a garage door, to add interest and make the house feel more ergonomic. 23. Add potted plants on your windowsills for a further splash of colour. 24. Use grass blocks surround by trapdoors (would recommend spruce) to create hanging baskets if you fancy a more rustic windowsill (add flowers, grass and ferns on top). 25. Add a separator blocks to breaks up a large wall and create a clear distinction between floors. (would recommend using the same type of block as your foundation) 26. Add a chimney to add height and balance. 27. Add smoke using cobwebs, stained glass or campfires (remember placing a hay bale block beneath a campfires adds to the height of its smoke). 28. Add a pathway to be an introduction to your build as well as further integrate it into the local surroundings (use different textured blocks to create a more realistic aesthetic). 29. Add a decoration to cement your build into a setting (a car for a more urban environment or a stable for a cottage in an old settlement). 30. Add further features to increase width and further integration into the house’s surroundings (such as a pool). 31. Create hidden lighting through glowstone under carpet of the local terrain colour and/or tiki torches (hide them further under shrubbery). 32. Experiment with different types of roof style. 33. Add a custom tree to accompany the front of your house/pathway. 34. Mix and match different wall blocks of similar colour to create visual intrigue. 35. Mix and match bulk tiling to your roofs to create different shapes and intrigue. I cannot be bothered to proofread so if there is anything misspelt or a funny homophone idc lol.
