This parashah covers Numbers 4:21-7:89 and completes the headcount of the Children of Israel taken in the Sinai Desert with the Tribe of Levi, a total of 8,580 Levitemen between the ages of 30 and 50 are counted in a tally of those who will be doing the actual work of transporting the Tabernacle.
God communicates to Moses the law of the sotah, the wayward wife suspected of unfaithfulness to her husband. Also given is the law of the nazir, who forswears wine, lets his or her hair grow long, and is forbidden to become contaminated through contact with a dead body. (It is this section that is reflected in the haftarah portion about Samson in the book of Judges below.)
Aaron and his descendants, the kohanim, are instructed on how to bless the people of Israel.
The Priestly Blessing (Num. 6:22-27)
22 The Lord said to Moses, 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24 “‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
27 “In so placing my name on them, I will bless them.”
It is in the knowledge of how to pronounce and place the true Holy name on our children that truly brings a blessing upon them... (Just as every child takes their father's name and every bride takes her husband's name, the children of Israel are God's children and bride! This is why it is so important to be grafted in to Israel even if you cannot trace your ancestral roots.)
The leaders of the twelve tribes of Israel then each bring their offerings for the inauguration of the altar. Although their gifts are identical, each is brought on a different day and is individually described by the Torah.

isn't just what you do but what you don't do. Not just what you did but how you did it. Not just what you said but how you said it. Love is so simple yet the simple make it so hard. Love Is full of knowledge yet even the smart don't get it. Love doesn't cost a fortune yet fortunes are spent trying to gain it. Love does demand of you yet you are not willing to sacrifice for it. Those who only seek what love can give and do for them, do nothing for love and others and in such selfish pursuit, in turn rob themselves of love's best gift. Make this year the year you seek to sow love and not just reap it. Be love and not just think it. Do love and not just say it. Talk love and just don't fake it. Seek love and just don't chase it. Embrace it but don't enslave it, share it but don't dare boast in it. Enjoy it but don't abuse it. Free it and watch it come back. Invest in it and watch it pay back. Wash your life in it, light your darkness with it, eat your food with it conduct your business with it and above all else Serve God in it. For whatever love is and is not, it's all of, for and From Him. He is LOVE! " By Steven Gooden

Rabbi Isaac, I thank God for your ministry. It really helps me to understand the Torah. It is said that the males should appear three times before the Lord in Jerusalem. But what we know is that at Pesach the family celebrates together. How was that done since the head of the family was supposed to be in Jerusalem. Now when Israel entered the promised land what were the duties of the levites since there is nothing to transport? Thank you very much.

It's funny how you say about the priests spreading their fingers apart. Both my hands at the middle do not meet, from the fingertips at the middle of all my fingers there is about a half centimetre difference. No one else has this but me. My fingers are all togerther at the start but from the middle to the tip between the two middle fingers they separate slightly. It would make it very easy for me to give the blessing lol.

I think Jesus was writing out the Torah verse referenced inferring since the husband was not there they could not complete the punishment. I think that may have been writable since it would have been a few symbols as opposed to a sentence of letters.

Could it be what Yahshua wrote in the dirt were the two Torah verses the Pharisees were violating: 1) Where is the man? (both the man and woman are legally JOINED together as one defendant at trial. 2) Were YOU an EYE witness? The first ones to throw the stones in a death sentence were the eye witnesses that testified at the trial. Your teaching really helped open up the deeper meaning of chapter 5. Thanks. Also Nazareth, isn't it really Netzaret, because most of the people in that village were "netzers" of the family of King David who migrated from Bethlehem to "Netzaret" (a "branch or root" that springs up at later time, at a distance from the trunk, "the stump of Jesse"), which fulfills the prophesy of Isaiah 11. Isn't this why both Joseph (from David out of Nathan) and Mary (from David out of Solomon) traveled back to Bethlehem for the census, their ancestral village (the stump), like what Americans call "Homecoming". I'm originally from Glenwood, Iowa. The city of Glenwood Springs, Colorado is also a type of "netzer" of Glenwood, Iowa as the founder's wife of the name sake in Colorado was originally from Glenwood, Iowa.

Jesus writing in the sand at the accusation of a woman's adultery may have written the symbol for Leviticus 20: 10 "And the man that committed adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death." The Torah called for the stoning to death of both the man and the woman. Only the woman was presented before Jesus. Jesus took exception that the law was not being followed and interestingly showed the crowd that no one present was without sin. Just as Jesus knew the history of the Sumerian girl at the well, he knew the sexual past of every man wishing to Stone the woman. When he questioned the mens' righteousness, their truthful testimony was of their own guilt and shortcomings. Jesus acknowledged the woman was guilty when he commanded her to " go and sin no more." As the individual adult male was not set forth, Jesus also judged all the men, judged themselves to be guilty. Instead of stoning the entire guilty mass, the Messiah forgave them.

Nasir Vow in regard to death . Does this include the slaying of a lamb or dove , or only to humans ? --- These perspectives open many more questions about Samson from the tribe of Dan being around death as he slay the philistines . It also lends to questions about the tribe of Dan by extension and them not being listed in the 144 thousand in the book of revelations. Also Acts 24:5 Paul “We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect

Where was the man that she committed adultery with? He told her to go forth because he wasn't a judge and they didn't fulfill the Torah requirements by bringing witnesses and the man. No one could have allowed her to be stoned since the Torah was not complied with

So will the offerings be going on during the thousand years of peace when Yahshua returns?
@AssemblyofCalledOutBelievers
@AssemblyofCalledOutBelievers 3 года назад
For those who know G-d’s word, the Prophetic scriptures reveal and emphatic yes with multiple witnesses showing a process of first Mashiach comes, then rebuilds the Temple in Jerusalem (Zech. 6:12-13), and then sacrifices and offerings are reinstituted according to the Torah and the Prophets (see below examples from Eze. 43:18-46:24, Zech. 14:20-21; and Jer. 33:15-18). Zechariah 6:12-13 says, Then say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the Lord. Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the Lord, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.”’ Ezekiel 43:18 says, Then he said to me, “Son of man, thus says Adonai Elohim: ‘These are the statutes for the altar on the day when they will construct it, in order to offer burnt offerings on it and to sprinkle blood on it. The Ezekiel Temple has never been built but will only be fulfilled by Mashiach (Messiah ben David) when he comes. Thus this scripture is not speaking of something past but of the future! Isa 56:6-8 Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him, and to love the Name of Adonai, and to be His servants-all who keep from profaning Shabbat, and hold fast to My covenant- these I will bring to My holy mountain, and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar. For My House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations.” Adonai Elohim, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, “I will gather still others to him, to those already gathered.” Zec 14:20-21 says, In that day “Holy to Adonai” will be inscribed on the bells of the horses and the pots in the House of Adonai (the Temple) will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar. In fact every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be Holy to Adonai-Tzva’ot, so that everyone who comes to sacrifice will take them, and cook in them. In that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the House of Adonai-Tzva’ot. Jeremiah 33:15-18 says, “In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The LORD is our righteousness.’ 17 “For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to make sacrifices forever.” Some people coming from a mind-set of Christianity promote erroneously that if there are going to be sacrifices and offerings again that there will be no sin offering as they believe that was “done away” with, but the prophetic scripture reveals that this is not so and that all of the Torah will be lived out in the Messianic age. Notice how the Spirit of Truth reveals the future of sin offerings to the Prophet Ezekiel in Eze 45:25 saying, “He will do this in the seventh month, on the fifteenth day the month, during the Feast, for seven days, for sin offering as well as burnt offering, grain offering as well as oil.” Hope this helps! Blessings in your continued studies and return to Torah!

I believe selflessness is the wrong term. Wholeness, fullness or complete would be more correct. For example with the idea of Giving; If you have no love for yourself then you have no love to give, because no one can give what they don't have. The bible says you need to love your neighbour as you love yourself. Therefore if you were suffering from self hatred you'd give hatred back to your neighbour. Because that's what you have to give, this is the concept of sin producing bad fruit. (Sin being self separation) But if you had self love you'd give love to your neighbour, but not to be loved in return though, but as a reflection of how you love yourself genuinely, with no falsehood or manipulation behind it. Being selfless causes you to expect love from others, to fill some emptiness you have due to your lack of self love. When you have self love it reflects onto others, and you give without reason or need or even a cause, it becomes your image. A love bearer, to be seen as love like God is. I'd suggest this is the real interpretation of this commandment - Love your neighbour as you love yourself, and also what the image of God really is, the self reflection of love. This isn't selfless love, its the fullness/completeness/wholeness of love, the opposite actually when you think it over. Where nothing is lacking or missing not in us, and not in anyone else. Please don't be confused to think this is selfishness, it isn't at all, selfishness is also wanting something from others. And none of that is genuine love. Selfishness & Selflessness are both coming from sin or lack, not wholeness or fullness or the reflection of God's image which is genuine love. God wants our hearts healed, so we can look just like him a love bearer. The lesson I see is we need to learn to love ourselves first, so we can love our neighbour.
@AssemblyofCalledOutBelievers
"selfless" in contrast to "selfish"
@melissa7777
@melissa7777 Год назад
@@AssemblyofCalledOutBelievers Selflessness looks like Saul and how he feared man over God, his focus was others. And God disapproved of this behaviour. We need to check our hearts our intentions are not genuine, that's my point. Selfishness & Selflessness both come from a lack, which has a root of sin. Putting yourself or others first over God, for example. (our will over God's will) I'm sure its just a lack of a better term, and you didn't mean it in that context. Just letting you know that's how it plays out in mental health though. The bible uses words like fullness completeness wholeness to explain what we need to heal this, via repentance etc. I was shocked myself when I saw it, how the enemy twists our thinking, we think and believe we're helping our brother but really our intentions are for ourselves due to fear, shame, guilt, blame etc. And we call this behaviour selfless but its fear based, like Saul was in the bible. This is what the deception looks like, we need to heal our hearts to be genuine.
